  1. HK SP5K with 2 30 rnd mags and extra threaded barrel for sale. Excellent condition with hardly any use. Has been a true safe queen. What you see is wha you get. I can’t locate the bungee cord sling or the manual, but that’s easy to get. These are ‘made in Germany’ quality. If you know, you know. Comes with threaded barrel and extra handguard. Barrel must be installed by an armorer. Priced accordingly at 2000.00 Local pickup at my Brentwood office. Possible meet towards Smithville on weekends. Don’t miss this chance. My reputation and feedback speak for themselves. Rick

  2. Engraved Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 18 22lr for sale. This is a gorgeous piece of functional art. Engraver unknown but the work is well done. Gun is in wonderful shape for a gun over 60 years old. Lovely piece to add to your collection. Local pickup at my Brentwood office or I can ship at your expense since I have a C&R FFL. Gun is also listed on the SW Forum, but I wanted to list it here as well for my Tennessee brethren. 1500.00 Rick

  4. There was a run of 15-22s several years ago that had a defect that allowed them to discharge when out of battery. The ban is likely connected to that. Appleseed banned them for that reason.

  5. I love compensated guns. When I saw Colt decided to drill ports into the Anaconda, I knew I end up with one. And here it is. I will say I am impressed with the build quality they are now delivering. Some may recall the Anaconda I had posted here a year ago or so which had to go back home for timing and barrel cant corrections. Colt did a fantastic job taking care of it, but left me of the opinion that they still had production bugs to work out. Happy to report this Kodiak is perfect in every way. Not only is the build quality spot-on, but the action is even a little slicker than the Anaconda's was. Very much looking forward to seeing how it shoots

  7. Sounds like you guys have a pretty good start. I would recommend finding a Stop the Bleed course (they are free) for all members. My church lacks an official team, but I have done a few courses on my own. I would highly recommend taking Ed Monk's Active Shooter Response class for anyone in a similar position. It is extremely eye opening and practically oriented.

  8. Shot the 22 twice this morning. Missed the same squirrel twice. Rifle did fine but the operator needs to stop rushing the shots. Hope the rifle continues to cycle after the cleaning and lubing and the operator settles down and uses better skills.

  11. Goodmorning folks. Sorry I haven't checked in lately. Overall, I'm reasonably Ok. Finished cardiac rehab in one piece. Now in physical therapy for my back. This week winds that up. Hasn't helped much. Probably will have to do the shots. Remains to be seen. Have difficulty walking. Legs weak & short of breath. Using a cane to help out..Finally swallowed my ego & got a handicapped placard. As the song said, Im doing pretty good for the shape I'm in. LOL. Hope all you folks are doing well. FYI, spare parts are hard to come by for old folks. See ya, ........

  14. Does anybody in Memphis have access to a person who would be willing to put their name on the line to be a named plaintiff in a suit against Memphis over the recent ballot measure? I need that person to NOT have a permit to be most effective. I will be signed on as my statue as West TN Director of the TFA gives me standing under 39-17-1314, but I need a plaintiff so that the courts can not dismiss due to lack of harm. Contact 731-217-0134.

  18. I always used Adams off Edgemoore Rd in Powell but that was when I hunted a lot in Morgan Co. I’ve used Rick Hill of Kingston Pike just across London County line too. Both good. Rick is better. Adams can get full quickly after rifle opener

  23. I've heard of Michael Mann. He came out to a friend of mine's church to do some training. He had good things to say. My church doesn't have an official security team. There's a handful of us who know who carries and has a mindset toward security though. After talking it over amongst ourselves, I recently scheduled some training for the group through Sentinel Training Services. I anticipated us splitting the cost, but we wanted to do the training at church, so we had to get permission. I asked and my pastor was so overwhelming in favor of it and even insisted the church pay for it. Without an official team, there's not really any guidance or oversight in this area. I see both positives and negatives in that regard. Without an official team, I was told the church doesn't have to pay for extra insurance. We'd be personally on the hook for our actions instead of the church. However, by paying for the class, it probably makes it official likely puts the church on the hook if something bad were to happen. That may be a good thing and an official security team may come out of it. This instructor is Doug Long, a former TBI guy and what I like the most is that one if his roles in his 30 years was CID. He has worked countless cases involving officer shootings. The class uses a training pistol to score hits during video scenarios on a screen. More important to me and the guys is that the instructor spends time after the drills coaching, advising, and critiquing from a safety and legal perspective. He has special training in CRASE (Citizens Response to Active Shooter Events), which sounds like exactly what we need. I'll make a separate post after the class and link it here for anyone interested. On another note, I was really worried how my church opening a day care would affect carrying a firearm on the premises. I never got a definitive answer that made me feel like the matter was settled. I plan to ask the instructor what he thinks.

  26. Went to J Floyds in Sevierville a couple weeks ago. Their nice used guns were within 75.00 of the prices of a new gun. Rough used handguns were around 350.00 +?-. My latest experience. Edited to add content; They had several brands of 9 MM practice for 13.99 for box of 50. Best prices I have seen lately in local gun stores. Have not ventured to big box stores as of late. Buds gun store was higher.

  28. If this doesn't sell soon, my lame ass subconscious is gonna make up some kinda excuse as to why I cant live w/o it, and then convince my conscious brain to spend money on another 22LR that I never needed to start with! Then I'm gonna have to buy another safe just to hold 22's. And I'll have to buy another building to hold another safe cause I'm outta room. Lastly ... I'll have to deal with my wife's questioning and side eye glances for the following month. OMG somebody buy it already. Great guy to deal with. Buy with confidence! (Please hurry)

  32. .308 is the 'usual' battle rifle caliber. SCAR, FAL, M1A, HK 91/G3/PTR 91, Tavor 7, and of course the various flavors of AR-10. You should be aware the AR-10 rifles use a variety of designs and will generally not interchange parts outside the brand, like we are used to with the AR-15. I would suggest getting one that uses the SR-25 magazine pattern. The SCAR is probably the lightest of all of them, a bit on the expensive side. It has a reputation for beating older and cheaper optics up. The M1A is a bit obsolescent compared to modern battle rifles. Scope mounting is a bit awkward and the accuracy will generally not be up to the modern competitors, but it's a fun historical rifle to own. Much the same can be said about the FAL. Those tend to be battlefield accurate and nobody is shooting matches with them. Scope mounting is an afterthought as well but it can be done. One thing about the FAL is that its 10 position gas adjustment means that you can get it shooting very soft. That and its storied reputation as the right arm of the free world means it's one of my favorite battle rifles to shoot. The HK91/G3 pattern is similar. Recoil on these is notoriously harsh compared to some of the others, and unless you get a modern clone like the PTRs with the built in optic rail, optic mounting is a kludge. Accuracy is OK but not outstanding, about on a par with the M1A and FAL. The Tavor 7 is a bullpup and has a lot of modern features. Great triggers are possible, optic mounting easy, uses SR-25 magazines, 4 position gas adjustment, and accuracy is fairly good. But bullpups aren't for everyone.

  33. It's quite interesting this year. Of the remaining undefeated teams, only Oregon has beaten a top 25 opponent, and only 1 at that. I think the "strength of schedule" factor needs a reset at about week 8 or 10. All the prior games need to be reevaluated at that point. It takes that long to really figure out who's good and who's just posing. It's easy to keep your team confident and healthy when you play a bunch of jr. college teams for 90% of your season.

  36. I won't belittle Grand Torino's knives by calling them a "deal." They are quality pieces that GT offers to us at a fair price. I believe I remember his stating once these were origionally just a hobby. But as I see it, it has progressed beyond that to a retired man's new job. His work and quality exceed the pricing he gives us all. As the owner of a dozen, I can say this for certain. I can't speak from a knowledgeable knife collectors viewpoint...just as a person who appreciates the works of this good man.
