Colt 901 Battle Rifle in 308

I recently within the last 6 months took on a Ruger SFAR in .308- I didn't know at that time how much I would enjoy shooting a larger caliber AR- But I like it plenty-

Like Grayfox said, a "Battle Rifle" to me should be in .308 or equivalent. As for the caliber, what is the intended use? Have because its cool- Doesnt matter. Longer range precision rifle - 6.5 SHTF in an Urban environment- 5.56 SHTF in rural/dual use as a hunting rifle- .308 Outside that, at a certain point, a quality AR is a quality AR... P.S. FYI AR10 platforms dont have quite the same amount of parts commonality as the AR15 variants.

JMHO: I don't consider ARs to be battle rifles. ARs are the so-called Assault Rifles. Battle rifles are full size rifles chambered in heavier calibers. Garrands, M1As , FALs and so forth. Of these, I prefer the M1A. Now if you want a better AR, there's plenty of 'em out there.

No, They've already admitted that they won't push it as they know they have no chance. They were just trying to make a point. But city leaders think they can use this to push for more state gun control. Yeah, not hardly. Ain't gonna happen. Memphis thinks they deserve special attention due to the high crime rates and wants the state to bend to their will and bail them out. They absolutely refuse to admit that the Memphis crime problem is their own damned fault. Stuff like this is why the State Legislature doesn't take Memphis seriously. BTW: all 3 referendums passed by 80% or more. Yeah, Memphians are that stupid.

So I was installing a water line today at a very old, backwoods house and dug up something intresting. Its an 1851 Colt Navy pattern cap and ball. I disassembled it to a degree at lunch, it is complete except for the grips. Just thought Id share the coolest thing I ever dug up. My guess is its a reproduction, but not sure how to tell. It was a good 2 ft in the ground. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
