Welcome, I'm right across the county line in La Vergne. On a quiet night I can hear the gunshots from Antioch too. LOL I know tons of folks in Antioch that have lived there all their lives and never seen a violent crime for miles.1 point

Sit tight. You'll soon receive a doctorate level education regarding the revolver. Those folks have an unbelievable amount of knowledge. I would suggest starting a new thread in the same subforum. You'll get more responses, as not many folks return to that database thread.1 point

Hey, just be aware that the Gen1 (don't know about the gen2) in .223, IS actually chambered in .223. Not 5.56 or .223 Wylde. If you're wanting to shoot heavier bullets (62gr+) you might run into problems with loaded ammo jamming into the lands. Even though they're a 1:8 twist, Ruger told me that they're chambered for common 55gr ammo. I bought mine specifically to shoot 77gr Sierra TMKs & loaded at 2.26" I was jamming them ⅛" into the rifling! I ended up having the chamber re-cut to .223 Wylde & it'll put 10 into a very sexy little 1" dot now.1 point

Could be FN made .30-06 on 5 round stripper clips. They did make a Mauser style rifle in that caliber for Columbia in the 1950's.1 point

I have the Larue MBT2S and the Geissele SSAE. Larue wins on value but the Geissele is a better trigger. Geissele is on sale right now for $123 (minus 10% if you sign up for their text alerts). It is well worth the extra 30 bucks or so compared to Larue https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/gun-parts-magazines/rifle-parts/rifle-triggers/geissele-super-semi-automatic-enhanced-ar15ar10-two-stage-rifle-trigger/p/16283991 point

All of my AR platform guns have a LaRue MBT2S in them. It’s an excellent trigger that will be better than 95% of shooters will be able to utilize. The story about how it came about is funny as #### to me as well. Geiselle used to buy components from Mark LaRue with the understanding that he wouldn’t make them himself. Then he did. So Mark LaRue began to make triggers as good as Geiselle to compete with Big Trigger and priced well under his simply as a troll. Mark LaRue is absolutely my kind of asshole.1 point

I have a MBT in my M&P-15. Its much better than the stock trigger and was reasonably priced. No its not one of the expensive super triggers, but it works just fine for me.1 point

I am by no means an expert but it is a S&W Victory model originally chambered in .38/200 for the British (.38 S&W). The chambers then reamed out to accept .38 Special special cartridges when imported back into the US. It was quite common at the time to do that. But know that .38 S&W has a slightly larger bore diameter than .38 Special; .361 vs .357. The line of markings on the left side of the barrel under the original caliber designation are British proof marks. The folks on the Smith & Wesson forum can probably tell you all about it. They even have a specific thread dedicated to them...https://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-hand-ejectors-1896-1961/223676-victory-data-base.html1 point

So I pulled this out of the shoebox it has rested in for the last 11 years today. I put it in a vinegar bath, so I may be destroying a priceless relic, but I wanna know what it is. Once I get the rust off and get it freed up, Ill probably oil, add grips and hang it in my study as a conversation piece. Ill update as we go.1 point

Oh yeah. There’s nothing wrong with saying that a gun just doesn’t do it for you like you thought it would. Don’t get caught in a sunk cost fallacy and spend more money trying to make it be something it never will be. It’s better to cut your losses sell what you don’t need to recoup what you can and go in a different direction.1 point

To those of you saying, "I dont open carry because.......," I don't think you're considering about people going hunting/camping/hiking, where you're not so much in the public eye. Also, in today's current overall situation, I say it's safe to assume every person around you has a firearm, regardless if you can see it or not.1 point

1969 Colt python 357 Magnum, 6” blue finish, excellent condition. The first owner Bought it in November 1969, test target included with original receipts, original box, papers and warranty card . Asking $3000. General comments: I’m new to this forum, refer to my Newbee introduction. I read through most of the FAQ’s on posting classifieds. I’ve been collecting guns for over 20years and its time to sell. Feel free to DM me with questions or want to talk over the phone ( message your phone number), I like to do business the old fashioned way. I have fair size collection and only post a few pics in the classifieds, if you need any specific picture or information feel free to contact me. Most of the guns I’ve bought I never end up shooting, goes into the safe, so I’m not very knowledgeable of the current pricing trends. My ask prices are mostly based on comparable(s) on gunbroker or other resources on the web. So I’m not going to be offended by comments on my pricing or knowledge of the guns. Are prices negotiable? Absolutely within reason.0 points
