Carrying concealed gives one a tactical advantage if a problem requiring use of your gun comes up. If it's important to you to give up that tactical advantage, then go ahead. Last year I did exactly that. So worth it. I will be doing several more versions of this taking different routes, i.e. more northern or central. My basic route was Middle TN -> Northern NM -> Moab UT -> Grand Canyon NP -> RT66 to Las Vegas -> Death Valley NP -> Joshua Tree NP -> San Diego, CA -> Junction, TX -> Jacksonville Beach Florida -> Richmond, VA -> Middle TN. 17 days, 7300 miles.

Downsizing & streamlining things so this one's up for sale. Bought it new years back. Haven't shot it much at all. Tiny bit of holster wear on both the grip & manual safeties. Otherwise in pristine shape. These are some of my favorite 1911's & as far as I know they are no longer producing this 5" railed model in black. I have 4-5 Chip McCormick magazines, 1 Wilson Combat 10-rounder, a Craft Holsters custom shoulder holster & a black Galco OWB holster. I had a Surefire X-300 OU attached to the rail & a Tier One Concealed OWB holster in MCB, too. Those can be had to an additional cost, if you like. I paid right about $1700 for the pistol out the door. I'll sell it with everything but the X300/T1C for $1500.
