  2. Looks like some relief is in sight. HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) – The Nolichucky Dam has remained intact, and the river feeding it has begun to recede. Around 9:50 a.m. Saturday, the Tennessee Valley Authority shared that the Nolichucky River had crested and the Nolichucky Dam remained intact. According to the TVA, the water is receding at a rate of approximately one foot per hour. Dam Safety teams are assessing the condition of the dam to determine what the next steps should be. Evacuations ordered along Nolichucky River due to 'imminent failure of the Nolichucky Dam' (wate.com)

  7. I saw something on the news about Newport being evacuated due to the dam possibly failing. I'm hoping that situation is resolved. Y'all are dealing with enough water already. Edit: Nevermind, I scrolled up on the thread. I should stop coming into the conversation at the newest message. Y'all are in my thoughts and I'm hoping everyone's damage is minimal.

  8. Cocke county and Greene county both are in really bad shape, both the dams were compromised yesterday and there's terrible flooding there. Prayers for everyone in those areas and all North Carolina, Florida and everywhere affected by this devastating storm. It's gonna be a really rough time for alot of folks and I'm sure some members on here. We gotta all pull together as communities to get thru this. Stay safe everyone.

  10. She needs a bullet that has been fired and recovered from a biological organism. I handed her a bullet that hit a target just over 1k. She said the engraving looked fantastic, but she wants it to be a bullet from her handgun. Deer season just got exciting. Lol

  12. Yes I have several family and a bunch of friends. All are safe. I'm told the pictures don't show the true destruction.

  13. I'm told Hot Springs, NC is even worse. The words used are the entire town is unsalvagable. It's a few miles downriver from Marshall.

  14. We're in the Tri-cities area and it is my understanding that they were evacuating the community hospital by boat yesterday. It's a really bad situation. We're praying for everyone impacted.

  16. I HATE this thread. After decades of love for the 1911 and 45 acp sold mine off, ammo too. Too old for serious target and got out of reloading, avid steel plinker though. Now this thread has me looking at Bud's for a 9mm 1911. Many thousand of 9mm reloads in my closet. So there goes a grand plus an optic. Gosh darn it!

  18. Sig box is full, both Underwood are partial and a bag of Georgia Arms, probably 20 or 30 in there. Trade for 9mm, .45 ACP, 300 Blackout, .223/5.56, 10 mm. Trade can be in your favor, really just trying to get rid of some ammo I can’t use in favor of some I can.

  20. Jefferson County just had wind and rain. Flooding was not as heavy as other areas but power is out in some places. I'm sure he is busy on his farm.

  21. Yes, they evacuated downtown as well as most places along the river. My neighbor works at the funeral home, they were evacuated and had to find a safe place to take the bodies before they left. I spent most of the day listening to the scanner, it was scary. Lots of swift water rescues and such going on.

  22. I would for practice. I have purchased Alabama Brand reloads for practice and they have been quality. Not sure they are still in business. Would not purchase it for S D purposes. Would stay with name brands for S D purposes.

  29. Only you know! I think your location may have something to do with a lack of interest. If you were half an hour from me I would have bought these componants when you first listed them. But Wears Valley is a bit of a drive for me. You're offering a very fair deal, I think, just too far from me.

  33. Because you said the quilt is in storage at the TN State Museum. The state museum and the state archives are next door to each other and work closely with one another. I'd start with the museum though. If they have the quilt, they may also have the letter.

  34. I went to the gun show many years ago to buy a Taurus 1911, when they first came out. I found the Taurus 1911 next to this Colt series 80. The Taurus was a POS so I got the Colt. I saw no reason to buy another since this one works 100%. Now I want a Rock Island! I paid $600 and some change for it.
