One part of TripleGGG is gone but will never be forgotten. The best dog I've ever had. 09-26-2024 Ginger was more than just a pet—she was family. She was the kind of dog whose wagging nub of a tail could light up the darkest days and whose presence brought warmth to every corner of our lives. From the first day she bounded into our hearts, Ginger was a source of unconditional love. She had that playful spirit, always ready for an adventure, but also knew when to sit quietly by your side, offering comfort in her quiet, gentle way. Her eyes spoke volumes—filled with kindness, loyalty, and the unspoken understanding that only a true friend could offer. Whether she was chasing after her toy frogs or curling up next to us after a long day, Ginger was always there. She had a way of knowing when we needed her the most, as if she could sense the moments when a wag, a lick, or a nudge of her nose could make everything just a little bit better. It's hard to sum up the depth of what she gave us—so many days filled with laughter, so many nights with her soft fur beneath our hands as we rested together. Ginger’s love was pure, without hesitation or condition. She taught us the true meaning of loyalty, of joy in the simple things, and of being present for the ones we love. Though she's no longer physically with us, Ginger's spirit will forever be part of our lives. We'll see her in the quiet moments of peace, in the familiar places she loved, and in the countless memories she’s left behind. Ginger may have had four paws and a wagging nub of a tail, but she had the heart of a giant. She taught us about love, patience, and living each day with a sense of adventure. And for that, we will be forever grateful. Rest easy, sweet Ginger. You were the best, and you will never be forgotten. Your paw prints are forever on our hearts.5 points

I use a Timbuk2 too.... as a 'carrying extra crap on the bikes/grocery run' bag & I'm so impressed with the quality it's not even funny. Don't laugh, but check out the used clothes site; Poshmark. I bought mine on there for less than pennies on the dollar. I think it was about $8 plus the shipping. It's maybe a bit big for edc use unless you literally carry a watermelon around every day, but they make smaller versions too. I actually just picked up a very similar, same quality, smaller sized bag at a yardsale last week for a buck. I can't for the life of me remember what it is. I'll snag some details after work.2 points

I really like the fact that the fishing specific sling bags have a smaller 3-point strap that really locks things in when you’re moving - but unclip it and you can bring the whole rig around to your chest to get at whatever you need without taking the whole bag off. I think you don’t really realize how useful it is until you use it. I think some of the “tactical” bags miss on both of these points. They’re a marginally smaller bag with one strap. When you load them down they bounce around and are uncomfortable. And, you have to take them off to get at your stuff. They’re great for a “grab it quick and go” type bag - but they’re definitely limited.2 points

Another sling bag fan here. I prefer them over backpacks. I learned this at the NRA conventions. I can spin the sling bag around front to add/remove things easily w/out taking it off.2 points

My guess is what was eluded to before. You wanted something "new" and the platform is not new to you. I'm sure when I finally bring home that 45-70 Marlin I'll have the same feeling except my shoulder will be hurting. It's the day after Christmas letdown, the vacation is over exhaustion. Let it ride for a while, try it in the woods and see if you like using it.2 points

Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM II (discontinued in name only) set up in a Tanker configuration before their Tanker existed, including NM trigger pack and op-rod. Also comes with over 10 mags fully loaded (I think it's actually 13 total), mil-surp cleaning kit, Sadlak oversized mag release paddle, sling, wooden stock, synthetic black stock, and an UpLula mag loader. Very accurate, handy rifle. One of my favorites. $2700. Not interested in trades. I hate to let this one go but I have not had a good year job-wise and I never shoot it. Call/Text 615-300-3074 or send me a DM.1 point

For sale only. No trades. StG-58 kit on an Imbel Gear Logo receiver. Arguably the best ever FAL configuration you could ask for. Low round count; I had it assembled and Duracoted in 2012 and have maybe put 2,000 rounds through it in its lifetime. I had a trigger job done to it by Rocky at Franklin Gun Shop, reducing the trigger pull weight down to ~6 lbs. Comes with tons of stuff: Currently sporting a NIB Trijicon Accupower 1-8 MIL reticle red illuminated 34mm scope (not pictured); 2 Burris PEPR mounts, one QD and one standard; 10 mags, fully-loaded; Optional inch pattern flash hider, selector, charging handle, mag and bolt releases, if you want to swap them out. Manual and little tools for adjusting the gas system, , removing the stock, cleaning, etc. 3-point sling This was my first battle rifle and, while I love it, I never shoot it anymore. I always preferred this over the M1As but I'm at the phase of life where I no longer want to collect; I want to pare down my arsenal to the weapons I use and train with. Unfortunately, for functional purposes, the SCAR-17 has replaced my pride and joy here, the StG-58, as my go-to MBR. But there's no beating "the right arm of the free world" as far as style and consistency. I never had a jam or cycling issue with this glorious gun. Ol' "Mathilda" has been solid bottom b*tch for over 12 years now. $3800 for the whole package. Not interested in parting out. Call/Text 615-300-3074 or send me a DM through here.1 point

Mods please remove if this content isn't allowed. As the title states. A hacker, or a group of hackers, has allegedly breached TexasGunTrader.com earlier this week and has managed to get emails and passwords to all 250,000+ members and is trying to pawn it of to whomever wishes to buy the information. According to some comments on this post states that if you click "forgot password," instead of an email with a link to reset it in your browser, it simply states your password so you can punch it in when you try to log back in. How this information is relevant to us is that as we are a firearm related forum just like TexasGunTrader — and we are just as subject to breaches despite the admin teams' best efforts to keep this place locked down and secure. Now, I don't know how things are run here administration wise, but this is a great example as to never duplicate your password across multiple logins for various websites. If your password for this site is also used for your facebook, mobile banking, etc, etc. I would highly suggest you changing it to something unique and definitely no where close to your previous password. As I have previously stated, we are a forum that practices and supports our second amendment rights. We are very much subject to attacks by groups of individuals who do not uphold or respect these values, and I'm sure the admin team is willing and doing everything they can to keep this place as secure as possible. I am sharing the link to the post on the firearms subreddit to share the source of this information. Please proceed with caution with any links shared in the comments as I am unsure of everything that is posted there. Thank you.1 point

Damn. I respect animals considerably more than humans. The death of a dog or cat hits me much harder than a human family member, but I've never lost a Wife or child. I'm sorry for your loss.1 point

Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link. Everyone should read them at least once! ~~~ This was an automatic reply ~~~1 point

I had Zeroed Ammunition in mind after reading the first post. A friend shoots a lot of their ammo in USPSA matches. They make good stuff. If I got sick of reloading, I would use their ammo.1 point

One 45-70 is plenty IMHO. After acquiring the modern Marlin holy trinity (Dark Series, SBL, Trapper), they are still BNIB and I only really care about my case hardened Henry and occasionally the BFR. Circling back to the OP's original thoughts, there is definitely a fat dopamine hit buying all the stuff that tapers off real quick for most. Also the idea of the firearm and/or firearm project has a bit of mileage but once the acquisition/project is done, the conclusion is kind of empty. Coming from a guy that has 42069 unfinished firearm projects and no real interest in completing any of them, I have more thoughts than I do answers.1 point

I'm sure it will be oiled and wiped down more than shot. My spine and torn rotator won't allow me to put too many rounds down range. BTW, I also want a 350 legend as well as a 458 SOCOM. Something about them tugs on my "need" center.1 point

Also, FWIW - the sling bag is kind of a specialized bag with a few applications that it really excels at. Fishing is one of those. They're big enough to hold gear to compliment fishing in the backcountry - and yet stay comfortable all day long. Don't sleep on the sling packs made by Simms, Orvis, and FishPond. I've run all three. I like all of them because they're big enough without being overwhelming - and they'll hold a water bottle too. Since you're in middle TN - I expect you could go down to FlySouth and put your hands on examples of all of them.1 point

No, I bought firearms to shoot and then put up in the rack. Every few months I’ll get one down that I have not shot in a while and just go out shoot it make sure it’s sighted in well and enjoy it. I have never sold a firearm. No I take that back. I screwed up and sold a Dan Wesson pistol Pack in 357 with four barrels, yeah, I’m a dumb ass. Just put it away, save your pennies and buy another one.1 point

I’ve carried a Timbuk2 messenger bag as my daily bag for 18 years and it still is as good as new. They make a great product.1 point

Oh yeah. There’s nothing wrong with saying that a gun just doesn’t do it for you like you thought it would. Don’t get caught in a sunk cost fallacy and spend more money trying to make it be something it never will be. It’s better to cut your losses sell what you don’t need to recoup what you can and go in a different direction.1 point

Looking forward to it! It'd be nice to see stamped on the side of a Jericho 941 saying "IWI US, Andersonville TN." Love to buy products that have our lovely state stamped on there in one form or another... excluding the touristy Nashville stuff.1 point

My granddad taught me how to respect and build fires since I was big enough to walk. I swear I believe he could have built fire from water. Lol. Seriously though, he taught me so many different ways. He was a very self reliant man. Man I wish cell phones were around back then so I could have taken videos.1 point
