I suggest doing a visit to Mark 7 Reloading at their Florida facility. As a commercial loader you will want to know who you are dealing with and when stoppages occurs how the process is to get you back up and running, they also provide training on site as well. I have been a Mark 7 press and autodrive user from the early stages of their development, but I am just a hobbyist reloader. Locally, I know zeroed ammunition runs Mark 7 Presses as well in their operation, might be worth a chat for your knowledge gathering.2 points

I had one of those that I sold that I really wish I’d kept, like a lot of guns.2 points

Thankfully, I grew up in a community where guns and knives were tools. The gun rack in the truck might hold anything from a rifle or shotgun to a baseball bat or crowbar, or even an umbrella for Mom on Sunday. From my earliest recollection my dad used to say "if a man don't carry a knife, he outta carry a purse."2 points

As a fellow bag whore, I understand the need. I have more packs than I know what to do with. I normally travel with my Tactical Tailor Urban Operator pack, but when I need something smaller and more low profile I've been using this one since 2013 and it's held up great. https://www.amazon.com/Leaper-Canvas-Messenger-Sling-Shoulder/dp/B01D8HKJP2/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_product_top?ie=UTF82 points

Up for sale is a 1922 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine chambered in .30-30. Much of the original bluing has turned to a patina. The wood has a couple age marks. It has been cleaned up and has had Winchester Stock Oil applied. All the parts are original (except the peep sight) $950 or best offer. Located in Nashville, for sale to Tennessee Tesidents who can legally own a firearm. the vintage Marbles Peep Sight (circa 1913) is not included, but can be purchased for an additional $200.1 point

For years I’ve carried backpack, sling bags messenger bags, etc, almost all either Maxpedition brand or something similar. Many of my bags weren’t used much at all, hence the issue. I just downsized to a smaller maxpedition bag, but it’s a little too small. want to get a new bag but don’t want black or tactical, LOL. I’ve been looking at a couple bags from nutsac, their sling plus and their messenger style bags. Both are in the 200 dollar range, and I’m probably stupid for even looking at another bag, but well here I am. Has anyone had any experience with their stuff? $200 is a lot for a bag I’ve never the quality of.1 point

Like I said in my intro, one of things I collect are .32ACP pocket guns. I decided to pull out a few of my more interesting examples Top left is a Frommer Stop in 7,65. This is one of the strangest pocket guns out there. The recoil spring sits on top, which is pretty uncommon. However, the oddest thing about this pistol is that uses a rotating bolt, similar to what you'd find in an AK. There was even a machine pistol version of it. Two pistols, upside down, each with 25 round magazines, are mounted in a little tripod. I assume the Hungarians had worries that the rabbits would rise up against them Top right is a French "Unique" pistol. This one features an acceptance stamp showing that it was in use with the Moroccan police Bottom right is a German Dreyse M1907. The Dreyse was fairly innovative for its day in that it's striker fired and the firing pin protruded out of the back so you could see/feel if it was cocked Bottom left is the venerable Colt M1903 pocket hammerless. As far as vest guns go, none are more classy. I actually carry mine from time to time. Makes you feel like an old tyme detective searching gin-joints for a dangerous dame with gams that don't quit In the center is a CZ 27. This one features several Waffenampt markings indicating that it was accepted into service with the German military in WWII. The fact that it is blued rather than parkerized would indicate that this was produced just before or early into the German occupation of Prague. This one is magnificent. The bluing is still deep and rich and the trigger even retains its factory straw bluing. Whoever it was issued to clearly didn't do much with it. Honorable mention: Maxine. Like all cats she feels the need to make an appearance when the guns come out Hope you folks enjoy the post.1 point

Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. You might consider doing something completely different. No not an AK. Bolts are still fine machines. Lever actions can be a blast problem with those is you are married to whichever caliber you get Most importantly have fun!1 point

I'll also +1 the Timbuk2 bags. They're nearly indestructible. Back in the Northwest these things were pretty much the mainstay of every commuter and hiker. We used to joke that they were part of the "Welcome to Seattle starter pack" along with the ubiquitous NorthFace pullover and Nalgene bottle1 point

Also, FWIW - the sling bag is kind of a specialized bag with a few applications that it really excels at. Fishing is one of those. They're big enough to hold gear to compliment fishing in the backcountry - and yet stay comfortable all day long. Don't sleep on the sling packs made by Simms, Orvis, and FishPond. I've run all three. I like all of them because they're big enough without being overwhelming - and they'll hold a water bottle too. Since you're in middle TN - I expect you could go down to FlySouth and put your hands on examples of all of them.1 point

No, I bought firearms to shoot and then put up in the rack. Every few months I’ll get one down that I have not shot in a while and just go out shoot it make sure it’s sighted in well and enjoy it. I have never sold a firearm. No I take that back. I screwed up and sold a Dan Wesson pistol Pack in 357 with four barrels, yeah, I’m a dumb ass. Just put it away, save your pennies and buy another one.1 point

Seems like one of those journey versus destination conundrums. Outcomes are often not as you perceive them in your mind. Front-ended expectations generally lead to "so that's it?". Feelings are fickle like that.1 point

Correct, I haven’t hunted with it yet. I have only had it at the range from the bench and in field positions practicing for hunting season. Got 100 rounds of the cheap 145 fmj to break the barrel in and I believe I’ve put about 180 rounds of the 170gr hunting ammo through it. I don’t really have any concerns at all, it shoots very well and I’m sure it would absolutely slap deer at the ranges I hunt in the foothills of east TN. It just doesn’t seem to me that it has scratched the itch I was looking for it to do. What you mention about using a different upper on it is one reason I did go with the AR platform for it. I love the platform and have hunted coyotes for years, and I’m sure it would do just as well in the deer woods. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t “feel” like it’s scratched the itch because I have hunted coyotes for so long with ARs. I’ve got plenty of hunting guns, more than I need as most of us probably do, I just decided this past spring when I started this that I would do something different for this year. Not that it’s a big deal at all to keep it or let it go to a new home, I’m more curious why I “feel” this way and I think maybe you helped me find that. Maybe it’s just because I’ve hunted ‘yotes for so long with them.1 point

Hello Jay, I bought it just the way it is now, I do not have any of the parts to put it back to the original configuration. They do sell the parts online.1 point

Wow, I thought I was the only one, LOL. I've got way too many Maxped bags to claim not to be a bag whore too. Their Sitka Gearslinger is the one I use the most. I want something less tactical but equally versatile, but nothing I find checks the same boxes for the same money or less. Oh, I forgot about one other of theirs that I love, the Neatfreak Organizer. It's SO cool and less tactical looking, but it's too small for a laptop. I got it because it fits my tablet, but then I realized I hate tablets.1 point

Bought a Matrix Precision P226 compatible frame to go with the factpry p226 slide I had. Still frustrated at getting it all assembled. By the time I finished with parts, I should have just bought one and sold the slide. lol1 point

On the topic of the original - looking at that bag in both the waxed canvas and "tactical black" - the value just isn't there for $200. I appreciate the fact that they say they're sewn in the US - but even so - that's a lot for a a mediocre bag. Here are a couple similar alternatives - specifically in the sling bag size which is going to be functionally limited to about 20L https://www.wolftacticalusa.com/products/compact-edc-sling-bag-flash-sale?variant=44432930373732 https://www.511tactical.com/rush-moab-10.html If you're looking for something in canvas/leather - I really like these guys: https://olpr.com. They started in Ukraine - but are now in Mooresville, NC. I've ordered a handful of things from them and have been so pleased with the quality and price of all of it.1 point

Noid, I just recently took my EDC's out and practiced with them. The Max 9 shoots on target for me. I put 2 mags of Winchester Defense High pressure S D ammo through it and can shoot it well for 76 Y O hands. Also took my 7 shot revolver 357 Mag and MP 9c and fired my old carry ammo in them. I fire the carry ammo every 6 months to keep it fresh. I really like the Max 9 for pocket carry. Purchased a Hellcat for my son-in-law, which is a micro also, but have not fired it yet. Edited to add; Choatecav, I had a little Beretta like yours but it was kinda hard to manipulate in my hands, so I traded it for a Colt Pocketlite in 380, which I carried for several years back when I had much more control of my hands. Arthritis and neuropathy have griped my hands now, so I need something a little larger in my pocket.1 point

I actually got my first Savage .32 earlier this year at the Tennessee Military Collectors show down in Franklin. Haven't taken it to the range yet, but I've always wanted one. I'd hoped to find an early one with the metal grips, but the one I ended up with will do just fine. I've got a Remington Model 51, but it's the .380 version. I keep hoping to run into someone with the .32ACP model who wants to trade.1 point

Most of the folks currently OCing in public around here are a horrible representative of gunowners. Pretty much every OCer I see in the store has a scowl on their face, a $3 holster, and no idea that someone is standing two feet behind them. They almost have “I’m OCing just cause and you can kiss my ass” written on their forehead. I think my wife could disarm most of them.1 point

Most all the valid reasons not to open carry have already been made. I'm a believer in being the Gray Man. Blend into the background and don't stand out at all. Be completely un-noticeable. As a friend of mine once said "The bad guy should never realize that you're armed until the second bullet hits him in the chest."1 point

I'm also new here and also a Ross MkII owner as well. I ended up getting a beautiful example that also came with the bayonet and it's frog. There's US ordnance markings on mine indicating that it was one of the rifles that was sent down from Canada to the US Army for training purposes. I never quite understood the logic. Imagine being a US soldier in WWI. You've spent weeks being trained on the straight pull action of the Ross only to land in France and be handed a Springfield 1903 rifle1 point

I've been saying for years that the American educational system has been intentionally brainwashing our kids into stupid, liberal sheep. They've been playing the long game for many years and now its starting to pay off for them.1 point
