Went out to my back yard and fired some practice rounds off this morning. Just purchased some of the Winchester 147 Gr + P Defense ammo, from SG Ammo, and wanted to make sure my Ruger Max 9 and my SW M P 9C 2.0 would fire them without any problems. The new ammo looks just like the Win PDX 1 147 Gr + P but has a little different design bullet in it. Both Pistols fires the PDX well, however better safe than sorry when it comes to changes in ammo in carry handguns. Also took my old revolver and burned the 7 rounds in it also. That carry ammo was about 6 months old so time to replace it. I was 100% with all 3 handguns, in the hit thingie, on a 6" steel target at 7 yards. I always paint the target between magazines or cylinders of firing to make sure on hit ratio. Cost a lot of money, now a days, to fire off much S D ammo. Some of this (357 Mag) was over 1.00 per round. Old man can't stand much of that! Edited to add; My old hand is kinda aching, from all the 357 and 9 MM + P. Got a little sore during the firing. First time I have noticed that in a while.2 points

I have guns of higher quality and a significantly higher price tag but my PM9 has the most rounds through it and has never jammed, stove piped or failed to feed/cycle. It’s still one of the best form factors and easily concealed in a variety of ways which is helpful with four seasons. I even used my PM9 to qualify for my pistol instructor certification and outshot many participants with longer barrels and optics. This is a killer price for one of the most underrated firearms in the industry…some people buy them and don’t do the break-in steps or rack the slide 200 times…mine has more than a thousand rounds through it without a single failure.2 points

This was certainly a lot to take in and analyze. While I'm sure a lot of statements need to be verified, enough of what was explained seems to fill in the pieces of what we can already observe in the world (in a way that is more than likely rather accurate). Also, I think it provides some context regarding the pushes we see happening in the U.S., especially related to personal freedoms (including firearms) and information. Here is what was on my mind after the interview: The thing about using all manners of coercion against others, under the justification of "for the good of the country" or "to further/secure our interests", is that eventually this mindset will cause a government to redirect these efforts inward. Becoming so drunk with greed and power that, in the end, it will attack its own people with the same measures marketed as necessities for "national security", "public safety", or "quality of life". Many countries have seen this before and I think the U.S. is seeing it now. The fabric of lies and opaque measures designed to cast an illusion for the people - that cloaks any reason to look around and question - is tearing. Because the government allows or is a direct party to harms against the people, it becomes increasingly fearful about losing stability; possibly to the point of internal conflict. Using the bag of "dirty tricks" in an attempt to regain control can become the catalyst for rebellion. However, if the government can successfully control the information space and remove private weapon ownership, it greatly lessens both the chance and duration of any potential uprising. Again, "stability" and "peace" through coercion. Another obvious side of this gets into ethics, etc. and that can be saved for another day (brain needs a break).1 point

I have a CZ 75 Compact as well and it is a DA/SA with a manual locked and cocked safety. The decocker is part of the D PCR Compact model I believe.1 point

Cutting zip ties at gun shows is very common. Any seller will cut a tie for you to examine a gun, make a holster or whatever. Then simply put one of their own back on when you're finished. Happens all the time.1 point

Just curious if this is really SAO? The trigger doesn't look like one of the usual SAO triggers and the CGW paperwork lists both a DA and SA pull weight. Great gun either way, these are great shooting for the size!1 point

Those second primers are from a relatively new company, White River. At one time the seconds were listed as hard cups, then possibly missing compound, now listed as "Less than .01 % Low Charge"... I've been very tempted over the past several months to buy some of the small rifle/pistol seconds and use for basic plinking ammo but haven't ordered yet. Personally for the Large Rifle primers I would pay the extra $3/k for the proven Fiochi primers if I was in need of them (note this requires buying 6k vs 5k). $3/k for me isn't worth the chances of getting a bunch of duds. The price differential is quite a bit different for the other sizes though.1 point

Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. I own all the flavors of compensated and standard P365's. A little over a dozen of these little runts. I have many other compensated pistols in compact and full size, but the 365 series (and Macro, which is really a compact not a subcompact) are the most carryable and thus the ones I have the most experience with. I live on a ranch, and so I actually draw and fire my CCW on a weekly basis (squirrels, groundhogs, coyotes and other vermin). I find very little perceivable and performance difference in muzzle rize between my compensated and standard pistols. I try to sneak in ear pro, but when I don't get to it, I *do* find that a standard pistol shot without ear pro is tolerable, while two separate single-shot experiences with a compensated barrel convinced me to never do that again. I imagine an unprotected multi-discharge defensive shooting would be even more unhealthy. So unless you plan on telling your attacker to wait while you go retrieve your muffs, I strongly suggest sticking to a standard barrel. The other thing that made me take my comps out of my carry pool is size. A subcompact or micro is already a significant compromise on muzzle velocity for a handgun, and of course a handgun is already a significant compromise for self defense compared to a rifle or shotgun. Giving up another inch (20% or more!) of barrel for a gadget that isn't contributing a noticeable benefit is not attractive to me. It's about 100fps, which is not earth shattering, but I like that 100fps more than I care about reduced muzzle rise on a gun that I never noticed muzzle rize with to begin with. Or, I carry the shorter gun and have more comfort and concealability when sitting, walking, running, and otherwise living my life. Lastly - in my draw-and-shoot practice on the range from concealment, putting 11 rounds downrange, reloading and reholstering is much more uncomfortable with a compensated gun than with a standard gun. One to three rounds, no noticeable difference. But after a mag or so, the compensator feels much hotter inside my pants. There's a joke there somewhere but I'm trying to be serious.1 point

I am honored to share that Trevor, Jay, and I presented a check for $39,424.40 to the Special Forces Association, Chpt 38 tonight at their 63rd annual Reunion Dinner, where we spoke to a group of around 200 current and former 5SFG soldiers, including 7 original MACV-SOG members and the Unit Command team. THANK YOU for helping to make this happen for eight straight years and more than $150,000.00 donated in total.1 point

X2 on making lanolin/alcohol mix for bulk necked case reloading. It’s basically the same as the Dillon lube.1 point
-
really depends upon what you are using it for. If you are doing precision reloading, case forming, etc, then it's hard to beat imperial sizing wax. If you are doing mass quantities, I prefer a spray. One shot is a sure fire way to getting stuck cases IMHO. I have moved to lanolin/alcohol mix. You can buy pure lanolin oil on amazon, and 95% alcohol. Mix up 1:10 (lanolin:alcohol) and put in a spray bottle and you are ready to go. Get a cheap plastic tub from dollar store, spray lube over cases, shake around, let alcohol evaporate, and smooth as silk resizing/loading.1 point

I’ve never felt the need to try anything other than the little tubes of Lee sizing wax.1 point

Currently partial to Imperial, but have used others in the past, Lee, RCBS, Hornady, Franklin etc., but imperial has been doing pretty good so far. Imperial Sizing Die Wax 2 Oz by Redding (midsouthshooterssupply.com)1 point

Get the comp gun and then swap the short barrel for a full length. You'll get the aesthetics you love plus the performance benefit of a longer barrel, without all the noise, flash, and heat. Now it's not a compensator, it's a heat dissipating slide!0 points
