So your job is to make roads, from start to finish. Why would you build a road to last 100 years, you do not. You build them to last for a few months to a year so you can make repairs and after a short time, you get to start over and make even more money on you lack of road building skills. Go think about that for a bit.4 points

SOLD Remington Model Seven SS .243 Winchester 20” Barrel w/ Bell & Carson Stock (Price Updated 09/23) I put this rifle together and have not spent enough time with it. The rifle is basically as it came from the factory with the following modifications: I removed the plastic factory stock and replaced it with a Bell and Carlson Medalist Rifle Stock with Aluminum Bedding System Synthetic in black / gray spiderweb finish. I bedded the lug. This made the rifle feel and shoot a great deal better! It also made it a great looking gun! I replaced the funky lock firing pin assembly with one from Pacific Tool & Guage. Another great upgrade. It has a Leupold VX-Freedom 2-7x33mm Riflescope set on a Leupold Picatinny Base and Warne Rings. I am selling this rifle because it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I also want to fund my first Suppressor purchase. It is all sighted in and ready for hunting this Fall. I live between Bellevue and Franklin, TN. I will only sell to Tennessee residents that are legal to purchase a firearm. Handgun Carry Permit owners and/or TGO members with excellent feedback. I meet all these criteria as well.3 points

Bear in mind that you'll need a good supply of projectiles, powder and primers. Seeing how difficult it is to obtain primers, in particular, you should be sure that you have a committed supplier. A second thing to consider is liability insurance. It might make sense to talk to an insurer before committing too much time and money. Good luck with your project!3 points

When I was in HS at Powell, in the late 70s - early 80s, shotguns in the windows of pickup trucks was a common sight in the school parking lot. I myself carried an Uncle Henry folding Hunter knife in a sheath, on my belt, daily. Try that now and you’ll get suspended if your a student.3 points

1969 Colt python 357 Magnum, 6” blue finish, excellent condition. The first owner Bought it in November 1969, test target included with original receipts, original box, papers and warranty card . Asking $3000. General comments: I’m new to this forum, refer to my Newbee introduction. I read through most of the FAQ’s on posting classifieds. I’ve been collecting guns for over 20years and its time to sell. Feel free to DM me with questions or want to talk over the phone ( message your phone number), I like to do business the old fashioned way. I have fair size collection and only post a few pics in the classifieds, if you need any specific picture or information feel free to contact me. Most of the guns I’ve bought I never end up shooting, goes into the safe, so I’m not very knowledgeable of the current pricing trends. My ask prices are mostly based on comparable(s) on gunbroker or other resources on the web. So I’m not going to be offended by comments on my pricing or knowledge of the guns. Are prices negotiable? Absolutely within reason.2 points

I am trying to shed some guns to get into another dream car of mine (Superlite SC-L), but nothings selling right now so I'm reaching deeper into the safes! This is a quite rare Remington 700 Ultimate Lightweight, featuring a titanium receiver and match barrel chambered in 300 Short Action Ultra Magnum. The 700 Titanium receiver was a very short run, with this caliber being the rarest of all. They generally sell in the $2000 range (verified on True Gun Value). Absolutely all the bells and whistles from the factory, including lightened/fluted bolt, lightened bolt handle, accurized stock, match trigger, etc. I customized this rifle with a professional two-tone OD Green Cerakote job, an oven cured ceramic-based coating that is the standard for most factory color coatings. I have only put about 30 rounds through this rifle, as I bought it because of the allure of the lightweight action but ultimately never got into the caliber. $1900 please, in Chattanooga. Trades/partial trades welcome.2 points

$197 in 1969 dollars, according to one of the on line calculators, would equal $1704 in 2024 dollars. So, at $1300-1500, a new Python would be a better deal now than this was in 1969!2 points

Ed... I've done just that. There is a guy who does CAS gunsmithing that I've been in contact with. He is a shooter as well as a gunsmith. He runs a shop out of his house. I'm gonna try to meet with him sometime next week. I'll let call know how this works out as we get further along in this little project. leroy...2 points

Testing the waters on this. I have a 1908 DWM Luger “first issue” that is matching minus the magazine (which the magazine numbers are so obscured that if you stare enough it could appear to match the rest of the pistol but I will leave that up to your own interpretation). 1908s in this range did not have chamber date and some parts were marked in the commercial (hidden) style of placement. I did not fully disassemble to take photographs of all parts but a serious buyer can have their look over it in person. The pistol is unit marked to the 107th Infantry Regiment of the 24th Infantry Division. I purchased this pistol from a long-time serious collector who was downsizing their collection. The pistol has some pitting issues and finish issues, as seen in the photographs, but for being 116 years old and likely fighting in at least one World War it still presents well. Asking $2100 PRICE DROP TO $1600, meet around Murfreesboro. Trade interests would be: KAC Rifles, NVGs, and WWI/ WWII German Pistols.1 point

For someone with a felony conviction for a machine gun it's fairly logical to me. SKS would have been a great buy and bury rifle back in the day they were so cheap. illegible serial number throwaway for the intended shooter. Odd to me is the golf course was not on the schedule but the shooter knew in advance and lay in wait 12 hours. How did he know DJT was going to be there?1 point

I’ve bought plenty of bagged ammo at gun shows and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again if the price is right.1 point

Weird choice, It was just announced the Golf Course Sniper used a scoped SKS not an AK as first reported. Wonder what type? I own a nice condition Chinese from the 80s. Good Scope mounting options are limited but anyway it's telling how many old SKS rifles are lurking around. Canada was still importing them I think until recent restrictions, wouldn't be surprised if alot of them found their way to the US1 point

Exactly how I feel. I never sell anything, only buy, so I never have to worry about it being used by someone illegally. But I buy, collect, and have them. But I don't trust the government and I don't want there to be a way to have it tracked.1 point

Yeah, the problem with federal legislation is it can help or hurt. Better to have a do no harm approach with regards to Washington. A good litmus test is ask yourself what this bill would look like if a California or New York democrat wrote it.1 point

Growing up in CT, we would walk out in the woods behind our house and shoot 22's. Never a big deal. One of my favorite stories about liberals- There was a gun club in a small town that was there since the 1930's. Pretty low key, mostly did trap and skeet shooting Sunday mornings. In the 1980's some couple from NY bought property close to it and build a huge house (it was their weekend house). Apparently the realtor forgot to mention the gun club-lol. Anyway, they sued the gun club and tried to get it closed down. In the end they lost, but the club spent a lot of money on a lawyer. Another club, the oldest in CT I believe, had a guy claim he found a bullet on his property about a mile away. He showed it to them, the bullet was still in the case-lol. But they still found a lawyer to sue them .There was a lawsuit, and the club had to put these blinder things on each rifle lane. So if shooting a rifle from the bench, there is a wall several inches above the barrel so as not to shoot too high. I hear it gets in the way of big scopes. Ive mentioned before, so glad to get out of that ****hole state You dont even want to know whats involved in doing a gun sale or trade there.1 point

I've been saying for years that the American educational system has been intentionally brainwashing our kids into stupid, liberal sheep. They've been playing the long game for many years and now its starting to pay off for them.1 point

Thanks professor, I know that Kent State was paid very well to offer themselves up for an ass whipping, but sucking that bad has got to wear out their players even if they knew that before the game even started.1 point

20 plus years ago, two boys were suspended for having a Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog in school. We have not stood up against these stupidities until here we are. The adage of putting a frog in a pot of water and turning the heat up slowly comes to mind. I hope the family gets a Johnny Cochran type and tears the school system a new one.1 point

Wow! Georgia over Kentucky by one?! I didn't see that coming. And KY won the statistical battle, apart from the most important stat... points. I didn't watch the game but think I'll go check the YouTube highlights.1 point

My view on this has evolved over time. I used to want one as I thought it protected me, and the other guy, but then, after realizing just how bad the fed gummit is, I don’t use them myself, and won’t buy if one is required, unless it’s something I really really want at a good price. I mean, if I’m going to leave a paper trail, I might as well buy new.1 point
