I carried an Old Timer lock back in a sheath on my belt in high school. I never had a question. I've said before, I read an article by an old gun writer who grew up during the depression, he stated he took his 22 rifle to school every day and hunted meat on the way home. He said the teacher put it in the closet with the rest of them. Americans have been duped into it's a gun problem. It's obvious it isn't.6 points

I know I'm old but I carried a pocket knife in grade school starting 3rd grade maybe younger. I also brought my father's K-bar and a Nazi dagger that my great uncle took from let's say someone who didn't need it anymore, to school for show and tell. Maybe it's the way we were raised compared to how kids are today, maybe it's the drugs we hand out like candy. I know one thing theirs a lack of respect and accountability, until that changes things will remain messed up.5 points

20 plus years ago, two boys were suspended for having a Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog in school. We have not stood up against these stupidities until here we are. The adage of putting a frog in a pot of water and turning the heat up slowly comes to mind. I hope the family gets a Johnny Cochran type and tears the school system a new one.4 points

$2,500 Older model, with original Kobra Carry roll mark. Low 4 digit serial number dates it to 2005 (when Ed was still working on guns). Has EB gun smith stamping on the inside of the slide. Factory couldn’t confirm that Ed built this gun, as their records don’t go back that far. But, it is logical given that he was still working then that he either did some of the work on this gun, or at least gave it final inspection. Has recently been back to Ed Brown for their tune up package, all new springs, inspection, and ultrasonic cleaning. While there I had them do a reliability enhancement with an upgraded commander sized ejector (commander ejector was developed after this gun was built), and had them completely refinish the gun. So it’s like brand new. I fired 100 flawless rounds from the gun, cleaned it and put it back in the safe, now it’s just sitting. Looking to sell to fund another project. In the Lord’s caliber, .45 ACP Would consider trades on higher end hunting rifles or a 5 inch Springfield Prodigy (partial).3 points

I've been saying for years that the American educational system has been intentionally brainwashing our kids into stupid, liberal sheep. They've been playing the long game for many years and now its starting to pay off for them.3 points

I was a freshman in High School. I went squirrel hunting with a friend. After we went to school and went to class. I had a big Ford LTD 4 door like a tank lol I had put a old 22 cal Ithaca saddle gun single shot in the back seat forgot about it My fault I was 14 someone saw it I got called to principal office. He asked why. I told him I was stupid. He agreed and told me to never bring one back. There was not a swat team. No expelling that was the end of it I would be in prison today And we all carried knives No one cared Very thankful I grew up in that timeframe I wish the world was that simple today.3 points

When I was a kid, in KY during hunting season, we took our shotguns to school and stored them in the coat room until school was out then hunted rabbits on the way home. A Yankee family moved in our community and the mother found out about our guns and complained. The principal made us bring the shotguns to his office, to appease her concerns, and we had to leave them there until school was over. Edited to add. I was in the 4th grade and 9 Y O. My friend was 10.3 points

1969 Colt python 357 Magnum, 6” blue finish, excellent condition. The first owner Bought it in November 1969, test target included with original receipts, original box, papers and warranty card . Asking $3000. General comments: I’m new to this forum, refer to my Newbee introduction. I read through most of the FAQ’s on posting classifieds. I’ve been collecting guns for over 20years and its time to sell. Feel free to DM me with questions or want to talk over the phone ( message your phone number), I like to do business the old fashioned way. I have fair size collection and only post a few pics in the classifieds, if you need any specific picture or information feel free to contact me. Most of the guns I’ve bought I never end up shooting, goes into the safe, so I’m not very knowledgeable of the current pricing trends. My ask prices are mostly based on comparable(s) on gunbroker or other resources on the web. So I’m not going to be offended by comments on my pricing or knowledge of the guns. Are prices negotiable? Absolutely within reason.2 points

One of the best I've had. I took it up almost out of boredom after not having a job my first year, and found it very fulfilling. Ran the study hall two years for the freshman players Mon-Thu with a couple of sorority gals, with us helping them get used to college, making sure they did their work, which for some of them was quite an adjustment after being pushed through public schools. I got to work with the harder cases. Some of them were just there to play ball and skated by, but for the ones who wanted to take advantage of the opportunity a full ride provided and make an effort, I was happy to help teach/coach/mentor where I could. It was also nice to not have to mind my language or worry about coming on too strong in communicating with the guys.2 points

When I was working with the football team at MTSU as an academic mentor, they went to Alabama to be sacrificed in Bama's home opener. The players enjoyed the experience and a chance to play in famous stadium. The ones who were from Alabama got their parents tickets to the game. Blue Raiders got spanked, but the team made the most of it.2 points

The Longhorns are looking and playing like one of the best teams in the nation maybe their year Don’t see anyone other than Georgia standing in their way2 points

Georgia’s first SEC road game is notoriously ugly. They didn’t look good at all. They fell into that rut early of running on the first 2 downs then passing. Plus with Vandergriff having an axe to grind , Kentucky didn’t look too bad. I can definitely see them with an upset win. GO DAWGS!2 points

They're becoming a real problem in Memphis. Cops are finding quite a few of them. The biggest problem is the gun is completely uncontrollable. Very dangerous for innocents anywhere in the area. But the bad guys could care less.2 points

All good, folks. Just always remember that familiarity and smooth/speedy deployment are just as important as shooting accuracy. Maybe even more under a stressful, life-threatening situation.2 points

SOLD Remington Model Seven SS .243 Winchester 20” Barrel w/ Bell & Carson Stock (Price Updated 09/23) I put this rifle together and have not spent enough time with it. The rifle is basically as it came from the factory with the following modifications: I removed the plastic factory stock and replaced it with a Bell and Carlson Medalist Rifle Stock with Aluminum Bedding System Synthetic in black / gray spiderweb finish. I bedded the lug. This made the rifle feel and shoot a great deal better! It also made it a great looking gun! I replaced the funky lock firing pin assembly with one from Pacific Tool & Guage. Another great upgrade. It has a Leupold VX-Freedom 2-7x33mm Riflescope set on a Leupold Picatinny Base and Warne Rings. I am selling this rifle because it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I also want to fund my first Suppressor purchase. It is all sighted in and ready for hunting this Fall. I live between Bellevue and Franklin, TN. I will only sell to Tennessee residents that are legal to purchase a firearm. Handgun Carry Permit owners and/or TGO members with excellent feedback. I meet all these criteria as well.1 point

If you are active in Cowboy Shooting, ask someone at one of the shoots It has never been of interest to me, but ORSA did have a quite active Cowboy group If not a member there. Look them up online Oak Ridge Sportsman’s Association and find out who hosts the cowboy matches Hope that gets you somewhere.1 point

Yep, the Kentucky Georgia was good. Young Manning did real well for The Longhorns. Tennessee has another glorified practice...1 point

Wow! Georgia over Kentucky by one?! I didn't see that coming. And KY won the statistical battle, apart from the most important stat... points. I didn't watch the game but think I'll go check the YouTube highlights.1 point

They are past becoming a problem, they’re a serious issue. A good friend of mine found a G17 equipped with one in her back yard a couple of years ago after an afternoon incident up the street. I’m talking midtown…the part where such #### should not happen. Even though it is a federal crime, they do not have the resources to do much about it.1 point

I used to carry a Jennings 22 fishing, I don't fish anymore but I wouldn't carry a 22 fishing anymore. 4 Stingers at 2 yards and the damned copperhead was still coming. Not very fast but it was coming. Long story short the hoe took care of it and all four slugs hit the mark. Shoot for the head of the snake guys. And carry a big enough pistol. One shot to the head would have stopped it but again, we fight like we train and all 4 rounds went center mass. I'm not afraid of snakes, except copperhead. And my two youngest boys and ex wife were there. The boys had stepped OVER the snake so it was fight time.1 point

At what distance, self defense? When my event happened, while walking to the mail box, I was within 21 feet of the closest thug. The other was within 50 feet while advancing fast toward me, and another was still in the truck. It started at a much further distance, but very soon got to within just a few feet. Not saying one will ever need to practice self defense at longer distances, but if one does one will need to be doing a lot of explaining when the event is over. I am not a fan of electronic devices in serious/L-D situations. Red Dots may/are fun to play with, but! JMHO, and yours is OK also. Total familiarity is a must with your EDC. For sure for us old folks. Changing EDC often is something that burns a lot of ammo if you stay proficient with them all. I can see carrying a larger handgun IWB, and a backup in the pocket, however one needs to practice with both, OFTEN. Many carry the same configuration, but the pocket one much smaller. I have done it both ways. Pistol IWB, and revolver pocket carry as backup. Or 2 pistols, one 16 rounds on board IWB and 13 pocket carry. Its a your choice thing, IMO. Edited to add; I had a 2" 7 shot revolver in my pocket the day the 3 thugs confronted me. Just thankful I did not need to pull it and see if 7 was enough. It was for that day. My neighbor wasn't as fortunate.1 point

Brother Leroy, As I love riding a motorcycle, and find myself with spare time now, if you have a hammer and center punch, I’d be happy to come to you and give her a swing. If not, I can provide the hammer and punch as well. ETA…looks like you found a superior solution.1 point
