So how does this work and is it a real thing? Their right to quiet enjoyment supersedes your right to literally practice with your 2nd amendment rights? Here is a true story and life lesson I learned from my dad. Less than 10 years ago, I was at my dads place (15acres) with a bunch of friends shooting skeet and targets. Sounded like war was going off with all the shooting, which I know none of his neighbors were used to. One of the neighbors called the sheriffs on us and said we shot a hole through their house, which was a lie because we weren't even shooting in their direction, and it was strictly because of the noise. My dad asked the sheriff if he saw the hole and to take him to go see it to call them on their bluff. The sheriff then said no need to do that but instead told us to keep it down, but my dad asked why if we're doing everything legally in the middle of the day. They didn't have an answer for it and said have a nice day and drove away. After they left, I asked my dad if we should stop shooting and he said if we did his neighbors won the forever battle and we would never get to shoot again because they would just continue to call the sheriffs every time we tried to shoot. He said to keep shooting to let his neighbors know that their lie to the sheriff and phone call did nothing to stop our right to continue to shoot responsibly and legally. My thought on this, is that it is a tricky situation and you don't want to piss of your neighbors, but if you purposely don't shoot because of their quiet enjoyment, then they'll just expect more quiet and eventually call sheriffs like they did on us. If you continue to shoot more often and legally do it then they will either deal with it and get used to it or the sheriffs will stop coming out their every time the neighbor calls them on you for shooting. To this day, the sheriffs still have never came back to my dads house after that incident. Just my 2 cents and past experience.2 points

SOLD!! According to the receipt, I bought this from Nashville Armory in 2017(used). No box or papers , just the gun. Has a crimson trace grip that works. Night sight still barely glows in a dark room. 8 round capacity. It is a sweet gun to shoot. Great trigger, so much less recoil than the sp101 I had. It is used, a few slight scratches in the finish. It is tough to find these in the used market, I found this ad on the internet: https://doubleaction.com/smith-wesson-model-327-night-guard-357-2-5in-barrel-163422/ Due to this ad and the Crimson Trace grip, I'm asking 800$. Time will tell if that is reasonable or not. Meet at my place in South Nashville near McMurray middle school. Not interested in trades. Let me see if I can get some pictures of this beautiful revolver.1 point

Got my new AceCase holster in and it’s exactly what I was looking for. Like Papa61 said, it’s not a good carry holster but it fits my need perfectly. I have decent quality EDC holsters. Often at home, I’m in gym shorts and a t-shirt and keep it next to me by my recliner, or if going to another room, it’s easy-peasy to carry both it and a spare mag, just in case. Also I use it on nightstand as well. I used to ‘stage’ guns throughout the house, but these days, I keep them more hidden, yet fairly easy to get to, just in case. Thanks, Papa61. I have had similar styles for similar purposes, but couldn’t find one with room for a light. TGO in for the win, yet again, LOL.1 point

Suppressors are trending to modularity. You can change the tail cap to any thread pitch, but each are $100 or so. You can change the end caps from 46 to 22 to 30, but each are $100ish. You can get a piston and run them on a handgun, but the piston assembly will be $275-300. It's cheaper than getting a separate suppressor for each gun. Dedicated car are usually better for what they are designed for though.1 point

I have carried the same setup for years. See no need to change now. My practice is always the same. Have often thought of changing to a larger compacity but just haven't seen the need to. Seven rounds in a revolver seems adequate to me. Hope/pray no running gun battles are in my future.1 point

Cleaning up my collection... two single action army style commemorative Colts. No boxes - both originally came in display boxes with a plaque, but those boxes were lost in a flood (stored separately from the guns) by the previous owner. Both guns OBO/Trade with money either way. Located roughly 30 minutes north of downtown Chattanooga (Harrison). $800 OBO/trade for either revolver. Trades I'm looking for (can add/take cash either way to even up) ACW to WWII and modern military weapons, S&W revolvers (older or Pro/Performance stuff), high end combat/duty handguns, target/benchrest/competition rifles, tactical carbines and rifles, level 3+ composite body armor, 1919A4 parts (tripod, accessories, etc), gadgets, mill and lathe, automotive tools and equipment, gunsmithing stuff, a 200cc go kart with suspension, C5 Corvette race parts... a lot of things. Not into Glocks, dolled up guns charging for add-on parts, or run-of-the-mill firearms. First, a Colt Peacemaker Bluntline. 2nd Amendment commemorative two-tone nickel and beautiful high polish Royal Blue finish with faux black pearl grips. 7-1/2" barrel, test fired only. :The Right to Keep and Bear Arms" engraved along the barrel. Additional engraving on the heel of the grip frame (there's no damage on the heel, the bright spots are reflections in the engraving). Second revolver is a Colt New Frontier "The Duke" John Wayne commemorative 4-3/8" color case hardened/blued finish. Adjustable sights, unfired/as new.1 point

It might get out of committee...but i doubt it. Anyone filing legislation that isn't on the "must pass" list this late in an election year is just posturing for press releases. If he's serious, he can re-file it in January 2025 and try to drum up support.1 point

Unfortunately, I don't trust any of them and the reasons should be pretty obvious. More than likely, I will be voting independent or writing in a name. "That's just throwing away your vote!" "Why not pick the lesser of two evils?" Because I can't in good conscience cast a vote for either of the "sides" that have shown themselves to be unfit to lead the people. Our government has been out of touch for quite some time and the amount of money and power it has accumulated isn't going to be surrendered for the good of the people. That "representation" is gone. I'm not sure I believe the federal election matters anymore. Local and state have a much closer impact on day to day life and can make the difference when there is federal overreach (and - on the flip side - quite destructive if the wrong people get in). It's really hard not to be cynical and right now I can't see the country getting or keeping a good leader with wise counsel for very long. That type of leadership is exactly what we need to help correct and guide our course forward, but make no mistake it won't be one president alone that solves the issues we are facing. The other part is that we the people need to be honest with ourselves about our part in this mess. Everything that we have allowed to happen because of the obsession with convenience, our selfishness, fear and apathy. We have allowed our lives to become so busy and narrowly-focused that we no longer look around to make sure our country hasn't gone adrift. That being said, as a Christian, I know that God can and will flip evil action and intention for His good purpose (Christ has already won). I'm hoping and praying to be surprised this year for the better, or given "peace beyond understanding" and increased faith if He allows our country to fully enter the dark.1 point

The rotating clown show that ended with Sunak just made the UK Conservative party look spent, and the voters weren't rewarding perpetual failure. It's crazy that a national government can have the same turnover and turmoil as our House of Representatives in the top leadership for all those years, but it works for them. One interesting tidbit of the last election there, Nigel Farage is back. He's a seated MP and head of the Reform party with its five MPs after this election. That's a drop in the House of Commons, but Reform came in third with 14% of the overall vote, so they're not some fringe act the Conservatives and Labour can ignore. Populism sways the UK enough to let a spark become a fire from time to time. All that to say, I wish we had a viable third option over here that wasn't hostile to guns. I'm not about to be lambasted into voting for Trump and I'm not doing the same for Kamala. I'm desperate for a political home that isn't the better choice of you gotta be f'n kidding me.1 point

This is a warning for individuals or trusts who are unfamiliar with the NFA laws relating to machine guns. First rule of thumb, if it is to good to be true it probably isn't true. You cannot buy ANY full auto that is legally registered for under $3,000 now, especially an AR-15/M16. Legally registered full auto ARs are now $15K-$30K depending on the make, model. The days of cheap full autos went away in May of 1986 and after that date there was no way to register or make a machine gun legally as an individual or as a trust. You cannot legally convert your gun into a machine gun without registration and that registration ended in May of 1986. So if someone is trying to sell you a machine gun or the parts to convert your gun into a machine gun be aware it is not legal in any way shape or form to convert your gun to a machine gun after the 1986 date. Possession of the parts needed to make a machine gun is just as illegal as possessing the machine gun itself. Even if your gun was made before the May 1986 cutoff date it cannot be converted into a machine gun unless it was actually registered as a machine gun prior to May of 1986. If someone is trying to sell you a machine gun ask for the Form 1, Form 3 or Form 4 to verify it is properly registered. I would also suggest you get the serial number and verify that the serial number is on file with the ATF. The reason is there has been a rash of people making up phony Form 4's, accepting payments then when the buyer tries to transfer it becomes clear the item is not on the NFA registry. This also applies to any other NFA item you are buying from another individual. The only people who can legally posses a new machine gun after May of 1986 is government, law enforcement, the military or dealers licensed to manufacture or demo, or sell them. So if you are contacted by ANYONE wanting to sell you the parts to convert your gun to a machine gun, "no questions asked", run away. What they are selling is illegal to posses and install in any gun not registered prior to May of 1986. And yes, there is a reason why I am posting this now. You have been warned! **************************************************************************************************************** I wanted to add something else. This also applies to lower receivers that might already be fitted with the machine gun parts. I recently read of some people trying to sell airsoft lowers as full auto lowers. Some are built so realistic that it would be easy for anyone, especially someone who is not familiar, to confuse them for the real thing.1 point
