  1. I no longer do transactions either way that involve BOS. I’ve done a couple early on, but people were wanting more and more info on them over time, to include DL # and address. While that info is attainable to those that know how and where to look, I’m not in the habit of handing it over to strangers. When I sell a firearm I do my due diligence in asking to see a carry permit and/or asking if they are legally able to purchase a firearm. I am more than happy to flash my HCP if asked, but have walked away from deals when guys wanted to take pictures of it or pull out a BOS that they hadn’t previously mentioned. I typically don’t sell here to newer buyers but I will buy from them, which helps them build credibility through the feedback feature. I also factor the value of not having a paper trail into the price, both buying and selling. I don’t think that there is anything suspicious about wanting to participate in a perfectly legal transaction that does not involve a paper trail. I appreciate that not everyone feels that way, and thus you can obviously put whatever terms you want on your sale, it just won’t be with me.

  2. My view on this has evolved over time. I used to want one as I thought it protected me, and the other guy, but then, after realizing just how bad the fed gummit is, I don’t use them myself, and won’t buy if one is required, unless it’s something I really really want at a good price. I mean, if I’m going to leave a paper trail, I might as well buy new.

  5. I do BOS either buying or selling. Two copies. One for me and one for the seller/buyer. In today's world I just think its a good idea to keep up with where a gun came from and where it went. As long as LE doesn't come calling, nobody will ever see it other than you and the seller/buyer. The only con I know of is that some people will refuse to do a BOS and it may cancel the deal. Frankly, that makes me suspicious and I don't want to do business with that person anyway.

  6. I'm not knockin' 'em. but I want everyone to know when I touch one off. LOL. Guess it would depend on the purpose.

  7. I like them for three reasons - If I buy a gun that is later discovered to be stolen, I have a bill of sale. I’m not sure how much water it would hold with the cops, but it’s better than nothing. If a gun I bought is stolen from me and recovered, many jurisdictions want some sort of proof of ownership before they give it back. Again, I’m not sure how much water it would hold with the cops, but it’s better than nothing. If I sell a gun and the cops come to me and say it was used in a crime, I’ll pull out my bill of sale and say “Here’s where it went and when.” All I ever ask for is a permit flash and a current address with autograph (no DL numbers, etc). A simple handwritten bill of sale that I throw in the back of my safe is not the same paper trail as a 4473.

  10. needs a new home: Smith and Wesson Model 625-2, .45 ACP and Auto Rim, 5-inch barrel, excellent condition. These don't come up for sale often in this condition because many of them from this era have been beaten to death in bowling pin or falling plate matches. No lock, no MIM, just all-round revolver goodness. $1100

  11. I expect we have some former scouts on here who did high adventure treks at Philmont out in the mountains of northern New Mexico. If you did, you likely toured the Grist Mill Museum in Cimarron to see the picture of Billy the Kid. And then you went to see the bullet holes in the tin ceiling in the old St. James hotel - started by Henry Lambert - purportedly Abraham Lincoln’s personal chef in the 1870’s. They announced their plans to close the doors this week: https://www.krqe.com/news/new-mexico/this-historic-wild-west-era-hotel-is-closing-its-doors-in-new-mexico-heres-why/

  12. Selling two of my glock 19s. Low round count through them both. First one is a black, silver, gray camo. Slide cuts and coating were done by JagerWerks a few years back. Stipled locally, has Agency threaded barrel, Agency trigger, Tijicon RMR, Trijicon night sights, TT magwell and mag extender. Looking for $1900 for it. Second one is has the Ape Defense barrel/slide combo in choclate chip camo. Stiple done locally, Trijicon RMR, fiber optic front, ape defense mag extender. Looking for $1500 for it. If you want them both I would do $3,200 for the pair.

  13. New to the forum, not firearms! Hello all! I’ve recently purchased land here in Tennessee and am looking to make some connections in the area with likeminded people. Don’t be a stranger!

  14. Having had to trace a firearm most recovered from crime scenes are either stolen or long sold to someone else. I don't know about other states, but it is so common even if one was recovered and it traced to a box store sell a few years ago it's not like bunch of alphabet boys show up demanding answers. At most I've seen happen is a call or show up and ask if they had by chance had the gun stolen and either didn't report it or the local agency didn't enter it in NCIC. It happens more than you would think.

  18. I’d like to hope that would be the case. Apparently the owner is divesting of a lot of stuff he owns in the area. It would be a hard business model to run a boutique hotel - even a historic one - in a small town that people really only visit for a few months out of the year.

  23. I've had several of both and PSA Micro's. Here is my comparison of the PSA and CR920. In regards to the Glock 43x, it's like a very simplified version of the CR920 with lower mag capacity. The CR920 you can have the lower capacity with a shorter grip or higher capacity with the same grip length as the 43x. The fact that you'd have to buy PSA mags and spend more money than the CR920 to get it close to the CR920's refinement and mag capacity, there is no value to be had. Then you have the optic cut. The CR920 is darn near perfect in it's optic mount system. If you get the MOS 43x you've spent too much for a bad mounting system. If you get the 43x and want it optic cut, you could have bought nearly two 43x's by the time your done. The other option is to get the PSA micro slide that is optic cut, and again, why the Glock at that point? The grip, handling, setup, and shoot ability of the CR920 is right out of the box. The Glock needs a lot and even then falls short of "Perfection".

  25. One of the few celebrities I would have loved to have a coffee with and just talk for a few hours. I don't know much about his personal life, his politics or what troubles he had. For that alone, I have the utmost respect. The world is truly darker without him. God speed sir and rest in peace.

  29. I feel like this is a sign of the economic crunch everyone is feeling. 12-24 months ago this would be gone in hours. I’ll give a bump to a great seller, everything he sells is better than described. Great guy to boot.

  30. I wouldn't use the AceCase for carry. I tried it and it just did not work for me. but they are good for this type of use. Especially with the mag pouch. Their fitment chart is pretty wide. Maybe contact them. Let us know how it comes out.

  31. Yep, those never go away. I get the distrust but to me and only me the benefit of having a permit and being able to carry in other states without fear of prosecution out ways the fear of being known as a gun owner.
