  2. GUN IS SOLD. German-made SIG P228 9mm, two-tone with electroless nickel slide and fire controls and with black anodized frame. KF stamp on slide indicates 1995 manufacture. This is the best condition SIG I've ever owned; it's immaculate. Not surprising for its age, the Trijicon night sights (also dated 1995) are dead. But the gun is perfect otherwise. Gun comes with two original SIG 10-round magazines (1995 was during the years of the Klinton Crime Bill), but there are also four new-in-the-wrapper MecGar 15-round magazines. Comes in original Sig box with unused trigger lock, but the manual has been lost. $750 to a Tennessee resident legally able to purchase handguns. For trades, I'm looking for a P220 with no rail, and a P239 9mm. Also a CZ P01 or SP01. Might consider others as well; let me know what you have. Don't need any Glocks or ARs. I'm located in Chattanooga; will drive a reasonable distance for a deal. Thanks for looking, Whisper

  3. I think Link in the past has claimed that many politicians screaming for gun control are simply firing up their base or fundraising and don’t mean what they say, or at least have no plans to follow through. There are probably some who would never admit it, but fit that description. Joe Biden is/was possibly one example. He talked the talk, but gun grabbing never seemed to be a top priority for him. On the other hand, there are politicians pursuing disarmament who mean every word they say AND will make it a priority. I have always believed Kamala Harris is one of these and am not looking forward to what she has in store for America if she wins.

  4. 1) Concealment is the first form of retention. 2) The same logic applies to all the SROs, but is only used as a negative argument against teachers. And you cant say training or conditioning, because from the last numbers I have seen, 1 in 20 cops killed on the job were killed with their own weapon (admittedly these numbers are from 2000-2011). 3) As for Who's to Blame, even in this straw man circumstance, the answer is the same. The SOB carrying out the attack. 4) As for common denominators, here are the statistics from the 478 active shootings reported by the FBI from 2000-2022 The common denominator is that an immediate civilian response, whether armed or unarmed, has half the casualty rate of a police response. It drops even further with an armed civilian response. In 27 events stopped by armed civilians, attackers caused an average of 3.6 casualties (1.25 dead and 2.4 wounded per event)

  5. I disagree. The father doesn't need probable cause to more securely store his weapons, discuss shootings with his son or seek professional advisory and counseling help. This falls on the parents and they should also be held accountable.

  7. If your kid causes trouble, the repercussion falls on you as a parent until they reach the age of 18. Sometimes bad kids come from good parents, but that is an anomaly in my experience.

  8. I realize there is a difference between intent and ability, but politicians have expressed the intent to "come for our guns" repeatedly. I believe them when they say they want to disarm us. Don't you?

  9. I went to college in GA, and know many teachers and coaches in that area. Ive got mutual friends with the male teacher killed. This crap pisses me off so much, because we continue to disarm the teachers who are in the best position to stop this immediately. I'm tired of hearing how an RSO on campus is the solution. Even in the building, we still have 13 shot. In the words of the mutt that Eli Dicken shot in Indiana: “Gun Free Zones are a recent phenomenon that by definition cause them to be easy targets”

  10. It's all about revenge and control. Revenge is exacted through the legal system, but doesn't do anything to bring back the dead or heal the wounded. Punishing parents for the acts of their kids is something that shouldn't happen, in my opinion, but it is embraced by our society because people want to believe that harming someone is the reasonable recompense for being harmed. Eye for an eye. Punishing the perp is fine with me. Punishing a perp's family? Rarely is that justified. Control comes into the mix because there is a coordinated agenda at play to eventually disarm the American people. The risk any of us carries by owning firearms is that we must lock them up so securely that not even the most driven, committed thief can get them. The people driving the agenda want you to be so burdened by the consideration of risk that you choose not to own guns. They fuel that fear by crucifying parents when their kids do something like this. Ask yourself if a parent would be specifically attacked for making a fork or butter knife carelessly available to their kid if said kid took one to school and stabbed other kids with it. Of course not. Because it's about the tool and not about the person using it for a crime.

  12. The father stated his son didn't have unsupervised access to his guns. The fact that the kid found a way to get his hands on one doesn't mean the father didn't securely store them. It only means the boy might have found the safe combo or key and the dad never knew the kid had access. Any speculation that the father didn't have serious talks with his son and believed everything was alright is unsubstantiated. You have to believe the dad is some kind of monster if you believe he knew his kid was dangerous and took no steps. I haven't seen any evidence to support the dad willfully allowed this to happen. Kids have been pulling the wool over their parents eyes forever. Think of all the stuff you got away with that your parents didn't know about. Punishing them is only appropriate if they were complicit.

  13. While I don’t doubt there is some truth in what you say, assuming there are no “true believers” in power who would do the unthinkable if given the opportunity is risky and complacent. I bet the murder-the-babies people would agree.

  14. Offered here is a S&W model 10-6 Nickel 38 Special with a 4 inch heavy barrel. The nickel finish has some issues as shown in the pictures. Nick on the trigger guard that is rusted and rust inside the trigger guard. The nickel finish is worn through on the right side of the barrel at the muzzle and probably thin on the left side. The finish shows blotches on the side plate and by the thumb release. The color case hardening color is missing on the hammer and trigger. It’s wearing a pair of Pachmayr American Legend grips that are in nice condition. If you’re looking for a museum piece, this isn’t it. Please view the pictures carefully as they are the best part of the description. I have many other pictures showing overall condition of the firearm, can text or email if you’re interested. $375. Not interested in any trades. I’m near Chattanooga, on the west side. Willing to travel some. Buyer must be able to own a firearm, show TN ID and sign a Bill of Sale.

  15. I have a Springfield M1 that I am looking to move. I got this from a fellow TGO member a while back, but I have recently come into another M1, so this one is headed to the chopping block. I put 16 rounds through the rifle with no problems. Comes with a clip and a CMP hard shell case. I don't have any CMP papers, but I was told that it is a CMP rack grade rifle. I can send you more pictures, l'm having trouble uploading them currently to the forum. $850, West Knox, Lenoir City, Maryville area meet.

  17. This is an all-in-one unit, so the DTS replaces your existing hammer, hammer strut, sear, disconnector, sear spring, and retains existing springs. A stainless-steel housing secures the unit, and the DTS features all high-quality steel internal components.

  18. I can't refute the possibility. Like in most things, you have a sliding scale of levels of motivation. A probably significant number of Anti-Gunners probably fall into that category; but amongst them are true believers. Which brings the following quote to mind (if not necessarily in a literal sense): "Somewhere a True Believer is training to kill you. He is training with minimal food or water, in austere conditions, training day and night. The only thing clean on him is his weapon and he made his web gear. He doesn't worry about what workout to do - his ruck weighs what it weighs, his runs end when the enemy stops chasing him. This True Believer is not concerned about 'how hard it is;' he knows either he wins or dies. He doesn't go home at 17:00, he is home. He knows only The Cause."

  27. He did an interview with Mike Jones (Garand Thumb) a few months ago. You could see how the illness had firm hold, but he was still out doing seminars and enjoying the 'format' as he put it, while he could. He will be missed. If you were holding off buying that Sears Roebuck field jacket from ebay as to leave them for him, you can now get one in his honor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf-4mGdXi7U

  29. They say he surrendered immediately when LE showed up. 14 year old shooter and no death wish? Curiouser and curiouser. David makes a valid point. Why is it these things always happen around election time or when the democrats need public opinion off them and focused elsewhere? I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it does make you wonder. This kid's story should be very interesting. But I wonder how much reported by MSM is actually going to be true?

  30. Please, no one take this as a statement of indifference or callousness toward those injured or the families of those murdered. I mourn with them, as we all do I am sure. That said, of course a school shooting happened during the run-up to the election. No conspiracy theory is needed to support my lack of shock, either. Sick people are going to do sick things to get attention during this time of increased attention by the media on things that are polarizing or triggering to the American people. Keep your collective head on a swivel, people. The months ahead are going to be interesting.

  31. It was apparently going to lock him into the same agent through his college career. His family said something to the effect of “why take a million now when you can get 100 million later.” I get it I guess. But man. You’re a high school sophomore. So many things still have to go right for you to make it to the pros. I think I would have advised my kid to bank the money now and invest it wisely.

  35. NEW MEMBERS - READ THIS! Private Messages: You can receive and reply to private messages, but you cannot start new private messages. Why? Because too many spammers have ruined it for you and this protects our members. Ten Days, Ten Posts: Once you have been with us for at least 10-days and made at least 10 public posts in other forums outside of the Trading Post, you can automatically move out of New Member status and start sending your own private messages. So how do you contact a seller? Post publicly in their thread. Ask them to contact you. Don't provide a phone number or email address publicly. That's dumb. People will spam you. Don't haggle with them publicly. All negotiating happens in private. Want to skip ahead to the good stuff? Want to send private messages NOW? All of the above can be bypassed by becoming a Benefactor member. You can do that by clicking here. A Benefactor membership is a cheap way to support the TGO community monetarily.
