The rotating clown show that ended with Sunak just made the UK Conservative party look spent, and the voters weren't rewarding perpetual failure. It's crazy that a national government can have the same turnover and turmoil as our House of Representatives in the top leadership for all those years, but it works for them. One interesting tidbit of the last election there, Nigel Farage is back. He's a seated MP and head of the Reform party with its five MPs after this election. That's a drop in the House of Commons, but Reform came in third with 14% of the overall vote, so they're not some fringe act the Conservatives and Labour can ignore. Populism sways the UK enough to let a spark become a fire from time to time. All that to say, I wish we had a viable third option over here that wasn't hostile to guns. I'm not about to be lambasted into voting for Trump and I'm not doing the same for Kamala. I'm desperate for a political home that isn't the better choice of you gotta be f'n kidding me.3 points

They (conservatives) lost 250+ seats this last go around and center-left Starmer is once again creating chatter about reversing Brexit and entering back into the EU. Most recently making friendly with Scholz. Lots of ppl across the water watching this election more so than years past.2 points

I fear we may be too late. I've said many times that for at least the last 30 years or more our public schools have been pushing the liberal agenda hard. Just about everybody under 40 is a brainwashed liberal. Real Americans are fast becoming outnumbered. This election may be the tipping point. Vote and pray for America.2 points

I don't want to take away from any narratives - but y'all realize the UK has been under Conservative Party rule since 2010, right? If memory serves, starting with W's friend David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, and up until a couple of weeks ago Rishi Sunak - they're all conservatives. edit to add: It's also probably worth noting how much the economy comes into play when you're talking about the UK. Really, the UK can be divided into London and the rest of the country. If you take London out of the mix - the per capita income in the UK is roughly on par with Mississippi's.2 points

Let’s get started! I do not approve of Oklahoma being in the SEC now. Looked up at the TV and I thought Bama was playing Temple. Too many maroons now. I’ve got no problem with Texas except people erroneously think they are “UT” and seriously want to have a discussion about that. Go Vols!1 point

Real nice shape. Wearing a Hawke 4-15x42 scope. Threaded barrel. I added muzzle brake, pic rail for bipod and have an extra 5 rd mag. 100 rds of Wolf fmj ammo. $1000. This rifle weighs too much for my hunting style. Possible trades on a lighter rifle in 6mm Arc, 6.5 Grendel, 243, 6mm Creed, 357,44, 45.....1 point

I like red because it stands out well against most (if not all) backgrounds, but green is good because it helps with my astigmatism. To compromise if found that an enclosed red dot works best for me because with it being enclosed it helps dramatically with my astigmatism but it also stands out against backgrounds with it being red. I suggest try out a bunch of your friends optics and see what you like!1 point

The NCAA is trying to turn college football into the NFL. I'm about done with them. There is no incentive for these kids to learn sportsmanship or team loyalty any more.1 point

I’m in the same boat as far as deciding to comp carry or not. Seems to be what’s popular in the industry right now. I recently purchased a handgun with a comp from the factory after watching all the guntubers praise it for the comp, I’d give it a try. So I Took it to the range to zero my red dot optic and run more rounds down range with my EDC and can honestly say I couldn’t tell the difference with reduction to recoil or muzzle rise VS. My non comp’ed G43X edc. After reading all the comments on this thread I’m leaning more towards not comp’ing my EDC tho I love the aesthetics of comp’ed guns I think the extra money for a comp is better spent with more range time and training.1 point

Dollar signs would help. At a quick glance I thought it was saying he had 30 oz for sale. If typed as $30.00 per ounce it would have been clearer. Just my opinion, I like silver lol1 point

The added on to the building in about 2019, and you walk into the TN room to do the transfer. There is a “welcome to TN” sign over the door.1 point

I have gotten very specific on a couple things for any barrel/upper I now purchase for a rifle that will be shooting bulk ammo. It has to have a 223 wylde chamber and it has to have a 1/8 twist. Does it really matter? Maybe not but there is not a shortage of options for high quality barrels within these two specs, so why compromise. If I'm building something specific, I'd build accordingly or if someone lists something for sale that is dirt cheap, I may grab it but otherwise it needs to hit these two marks.1 point

For what it's worth, I've tried the comp idea on my MR920, a Glock 43x, and my trusty Smith MP EZ 9 With defensive loads from 124 to147 grains. I can barely tell any difference. These are excellent comps and my hands are 78 plus years old. I would simply buy a " non comped " gun. They are cheaper n easier to conceal. I'm like several others have opined. There simply ain't enough gas generated nor velocity to have a very meaningful recoil or muzzle rise reduction. leroy...1 point

I didn't acquire the 1911 bug until 2009. Got to fire a Colt Officer's Model. I was hooked.1 point
