  1. Chattanooga $1300 $1200 each, or $2400 for the pair if you're collecting or perhaps setting up a dual wield retro-akimbo setup for the end of the world. Trades welcome as always. This pair of Smith & Wesson 29-2 revolvers are the best expressions of the Model 29 .44 Magnum line. These 8-3/8" barreled, dash-2 revision wheelguns incorporate all of the early product improvements, and none of the cost-cutting revisions of the later versions. They include pinned and recessed barrels, recessed cylinders, the improved ejector rod, and deletion of the 4th screw holding the cylinder stop spring. The Model 29 is best known as the sidearm of choice for "Harry Callahan" from the Dirty Harry movie franchise. I've had three of them for some time, thinking that all three of my kids would like to inherit one, but they've all taken to more practical barrel lengths in .357. So the Model 19's and 686's are staying, and this pair of 29's are hereby released. The third 29-2 stays, 'cause I have a few decades of shooting .44Mag left in me! Good condition, very faint turn rings, extremely low round counts (can't find any powder on either one, and I never shot these two). Strong bluing with very slight/hard to notice imperfections, probably from handling. No muzzle wear; as-new chambers and bore. Desirable target trigger, target hammer, and target sights make both of these "Triple T" guns. *Oops, I left a sticker on the lefthand gun's grip. That's not a blemish. Trivia: Dirty Harry features Model 29's in both 8-3/8" and 6-1/2" lengths, depending on what looked/worked best in each film scene. There's a fair chance these two were probably definitely not in the movie (but maybe not in the sequels, too).

  2. I have for sale a complete, unfired collection of the second (revised/improved) version of the Automag 2, in every barrel length they manufactured. The original "M" prefix suffered from some flaws with the ball bearing jumping and holding the slide open intermittently. This collection consists of a 3.5" version C prefix (first revision, solving the issue by converting to a hold-open pin), and these 4.7" and 6" "H" prefix pistols are the final series, manufactured by Hi Standard. All are as-new, with two of them still holding the factory original warning labels. I have a 6" that I've fired for many years and I am keeping; these collectibles are for sale or trade. Asking $1600 for all three.

  8. Yes, but its not recommended for routine cleaning. It doesn't take a lot of wear before a screw starts backing out during firing. Only take it out when you really need to.

  9. Yeah I shouldn't have said junk , but I sure don't see them being a 200,000 or more mile engine without having to replace the turbo charger or even other major parts. The more power you get out of a smaller engine , the less the lifetime it seems to have.

  12. I liked Shoney's. You could make a full meal on the salad bar alone. The buffet was great and hot fudge cake for desert. Had two of them fairly close to my home. Sadly, Covid killed them both.

  13. oh THAT kind of truck hunting. I'm just glad we don't have to worry about the game warden taking your truck and rifle. I can't imagine buying a newer truck, the prices are crazy. I've considering downsizing though and the 2025 Maverick is going to be available as AWD Hybrid, that peaked my interest. Since my old ratty F150 is green I'd even go for the new "Eruption Green" Negatives are the movement of more controls to touchscreen operation and what appears to be the touchscreen located on top of the dash rather than inset.

  15. For sale is my Browning X-Bolt Talker with Carbon Fiber Stock, Fluted 22" Barrel that is chambered in .270 win. It also comes with original box and DNZ scope base/rings. I purchased this gun new and hunted with it a few times and it shoots great. Less than 50 rounds have been put through this gun. Recently this gun was sent back to Browning to have the stock redone due to a recall on their duracoat finishes. This gun now sports the new and improved carbon fiber stock. This configuration has been discontinued and replaced by a similar gun with a stainless finished barrel. I prefer this finish on the barrel to minimize any glare that might come from the stainless barrel. The gun is in outstanding condition and ready to be put back to use. $900 FIRM. Located in Lebanon, TN. Please PM with any questions. Thanks!

  19. That is a neat idea. I love revolvers but absolutely hate cleaning them. It is an awkward process with things spinning around and flopping about. I wonder how this design will hold up and respond to unintentional pushings of that button.

  20. Yes, this one requires no tools, just push a button. One thing I dislike about bright stainless is the amount of powder residue and discoloration that accumulates on the face of the cylinder. Call me obsessive, but seems this would make it quicker to clean that off. Could be wrong.

  24. Even though I own one I am not a fan of turbos either (pun intended) but I believe the 8 speed and 10 speed transmissions are more about keeping the little buggers in their narrow torque band. The more moving parts the more chance of something breaking. My biggest issue with new is the sheer amount of recalls for truly dangerous possible breakages. Toyota's woes are only new to Toyota, we've seen them from everyone else before.

  25. I like the Ridgeline a lot myself. But to be fair, if I move to smaller it would be a hybrid. When I actually need a truck, I need the 8 foot bed. Most everything will fit in the back of our Buick TourX so it is rare that I need a truck. Most likely I will get an even older Ford than my current 97 F150. I just prefer the older trucks. I see a trend of smaller, turbo engines and it's true, you will not get the long life under hard work. Just a matter of science, smaller builds more heat to produce the torque needed. Adding a turbo just contributes to more heat. We went through the same thing back decades ago going from true truck engines to mid sized car engines. A 4.9 six will outlast a 5.0 V8. Smaller and lighter are the inevitable future with CAFE and emission standards constantly going higher. The only way to avoid it is smaller lighter vehicles. The old Toyota and Datsun trucks were anvils that would last forever given proper maintenence and cleaning. The EARLY Ranger and Mazda were right behind. True, you won't get the ride quality nor the higher interior with small trucks but that's the trade off. I personally think Toyota, Nissan, Ford, GM have all gotten too big for small trucks. but automotive trends to bigger is better until they got over the max. Then you see things like Mustang II, Courier, S10. Cheap stuff to hold market share. If I do get a new small truck, it has to be 4 door so my Dane has a place to ride.

  26. (Back up for sale) Circa 1994 original Colt Match Target Lightweight, chambered in 7.62x39. Very low serial number. $1500 now $1350 OBO / trade in Chattanooga. Possible trades are similar value modern sporting rifles (MCX, Bren, HK/clones, etc), unique modern handguns, collectable older S&W, or other notable guns. Happy to add cash or other guns. Like-new condition, only fired enough to get a feel for it; less than 200 rounds. Two magazines that actually feed well included (original high caps were notorious for poor feeding of the bottleneck cartridge).

  27. I had a Tacoma in the 90's when they were still small. Too small. Sold it cus we had a baby and it was impractical with only 2 doors. Went with SUVs for a while. Right before retiring i got the truck bug really bad, but the used market had jumped and the new prices were crazy. I test drove a Ranger and just didn't like how rough t rode. I liked the looks of the Maverick. A fiend has one in a hybrid and he loves his. I rode in it and it was...ok. Then I saw a used one at Carmax and test drove it. It was a hybrid too, but I hated it. The feel of it just didn't feel good to me and it seemed very small inside and the bed seemed small too. They also had a 2019 Honda Ridgeline on the lot. I drove it and right away knew this was the one for me. Mine is the RTL-E and has all the bells and whistles. Drives like a car, handles really well and very smooth riding. Its way bigger inside than the Maverick and the bed is decent too. I bought it in November 2023 and still love it. I've added some accessories like a Tonneau cover and made a few mods. I don't tow, though it has a hitch, nor do i go off road with it, but Im expecting the AWD to do good in the snow when we get some. Another thing I like is that is has a trunk in the bed that holds a LOT, in addition to the spare tire. The trunk can also be used for tailgating to put your beverages and ice and it has a drain plug for to drain it. Not really important to me but it also has bed speakers. The new Maverick looks sportier on the outside, but to me the inside trim still looks cheap, even on the higher trim levels. Biggest drawback so far to me is the infotainment system seems a little glitchy at times, and it doesnt have that 'truck' look. Mine is reasonable high up off the ground but still not a chore to climb into. Way higher than the Mavericks though, which I like when driving in traffic as I can see better.

  30. I don't have experience with TRD Off Road. My brother has a 2019 TRD Off Road Tacoma and it has been perfect. It gets really good gas mileage for a truck, but he drives like a Spanish American War veteran. I've had a Tacoma and two 4Runners. For the money IMO, the updated 4.0 V6 1GR-FE that has been in the 4Runner for the last 12 or so years is probably the best gas V6 Toyota has ever made. I would avoid first and maybe even second year models, Toyota or not. I despise turbo, but will admit that the new turbo Tundra troubles don't seem to be turbo-related. The Tacoma going to turbo is a heartbreaker. Haven't heard about 2024 Taco transmission troubles, but I'm not surprised. Turbo + 8 speed seems stupid to get only 2 more MPG. Avoid 2016 and 2017 if looking at third gen Tacomas. Change your oil every 5000 miles - ignore the 10K interval. This guy has a gold mine of Toyota info: https://www.youtube.com/@TheCarCareNut/videos

  32. Thanks to all the TGO members and yall's information. I have driven all over God's creation and handled a bunch of Ruger GP100's. All were either milled incorrectly or off center. Some barrels were not lined up correctly. I drove to check them out in person because I am not buying a gun sight unseen whether I can send it back or not. It's too much of a hassle. I guess the newer Ruger's have lower standards or worse quality control that in previous years. So I am no longer looking for a Ruger revolver unless I stumble across one that is properly built. It seems that is the same with Beretta. Now that they have moved to Tennessee , their quality is "hit and miss". And to go on to cars , Toyota was great too. Now they are building crap ! I guess I am just getting old and stuborn !

  35. I didn’t think I was gonna have the free cash available for this one, and it was killing me. Luckily, it just showed up. I’m in for 1 knife. Will these be serialized? If so, I would greatly appreciate #10 if possible to match the rest of my collection. I’ll send payment at the beginning of the week.
