  1. Apparently Taurus is doing their rebate differently from the last time I bought something. The actual rebate was like last time, fill in the information online including pictures of box label and receipt . Just be sure to check the email you get back from them. It now has a link to their website to order the magazines ( 3 free ) and a coupon code which includes free shipping. I know some folks don’t take time to open emails like this and just read the subject saying it’s been approved. If I hadn’t opened it I guess I wouldn’t be getting the magazines. Lol

  4. M&P shield plus!!! Includes everything in the pics plus it has the APEX trigger kit installed. I bought it and immediately did all the upgrades (Dot, Trigger kit), then shot just over 400 rounds to establish 100% reliability. The only reason I'm selling is that I've decided to shoot USPSA carry optics and I'm going to a Sig. So, I always carry the same platform that I shoot in competition. CT dot that is a co-witness set up so you can see both the dot and iron sights simultaneously. Apex trigger kit installed. MAJOR IMPROVEMENT over the stock trigger. Four 13 round mags plus one 10 round. IWB kydex holster. 700.00 obo

  8. For anyone on the fence about this, I run the exact same setup on my Gen 5 G45. The barrel is every bit as accurate as the OEM Gen 5 Marksman barrel, and likely more, and the comp is highly effective.

  13. We used to use reloadable brass shotgun hulls for CAS black powder loads. I'ma thinkin ya may be able to find some 410 reloadable brass. Try looking at Buffalo Arms first... The reloading process is easy with the brass hulls. leroy...

  14. And there are some of us that work in the public safety sector that can use these incidents as case studies to improve our response and hopefully at some point even prevent these from happening at all. In my office, I have spent more time studying these events and how to respond than anyone else. I continue that on my own time and my own dime so that if anything happens, I am as prepared as I can be.

  20. Years ago we went on a catfish group camping trip to Pickwick Lake. Not ready to return home we went to Piney Grove campground at Bay Springs Lake, MS. Asked the host about grocery stores in the area. walmart at Booneville, MS 30 miles away. Sunflower in Tishomingo, MS 15 miles away. We went to the Sunflower. There were stacks of cased canned good at great prices. We got 2 cans of Luck's chicken and dumplings to try for dinner, 99 per can. McHenry peaches 99 per lb, got 4. First time seeing or hearing about them. I peeled and sliced the peaches and a taste. No need to add sugar for them to juice out. Great over pound cake with vanilla ice cream topping. My wife fixed a pan of cornbread to go along with 1 can of dumplings, had to open the second to finish dinner. They are made with noodles and taste better than Sweet Sue's. 2 days later with camper in tow we returned to Sunflower. Bought 2 cases of the dumplings, all the peaches and 2 quarts of sourwood honey, $5 per quart. No store in my area stocks them. A cash saver store will order me a case when I want them. Our homemade ones don't go to leftovers no matter how much we make. Yesterday I woke from a nap and hungry. First thing I spotted was a can of the dumplings. I fixed a pan of cornbread, when it was ready I microwaved the dumplings. Afraid the cornbread would give me problems. Nope, ate 2 large slices just fine. Today I fixed a glass of cornbread and milk. The first bite was great, 2nd bite not as good, After 3rd bite Sasha my pup got the rest.

  22. Lots of good experiences coming from this session, but the most educational part for me was the PPC "wrong" direction movement. Weak side shoulder placement and hand swap combined with movement was a welcome challenge. I encourage all to come to these in the future. You either get reps on techniques you already know or you get exposure to techniques that you should know.

  25. I'm gonna break ranks and say that you are thinking correctly for the answer for your wife. I went through this very thing with my wife and I also tried to steer her toward a semi-auto. We tried the Shield, the XDs and the Ruger LCP. She is not a "gun person" but did take some lessons with all of these. The problem is that while we enjoy handling semi's and dropping mags and clearing jams, etc. some do not and factually, most women are in that group. Even the basic "racking of the slide" does not come natural and easy for most women. I am not saying all but most. So, in a moment of fear or excitement it is not a good time to experiment with this question when her life hangs in the balance. So, we tried several revolvers and she ended up with, and still carries, the Ruger SP101. This revolver is a bit heavy, but it's mass is a friend when firing and shooting .38 caliber rounds with a very mild recoil. It is crazy reliable and has a buttery smooth trigger. Semi's do give more rounds but while stylish, must be handled with frequency to be comfortable and reliable. As Clint Eastwood said as "Dirty Harry"...."That's a helluva price to pay for being stylish."

  26. I know it’s not the question that you asked, but small revolvers suitable for carry, even in smaller calibers, are generally awful to actually shoot and use. If I may offer a bit of a recommendation outside of your actual ask, maybe have her take a firearms familiarization class from a local range where she gets to try and use several different handguns. The benefit may be twofold in that she may discover more confidence with a semi automatic pistol, but also may help discover what will actually work for her.

  28. This case notwithstanding, there's all kinds of laws and oaths to keep this kind of stuff private, but the whole nation is clambering for gun reform in place of mental health reform. The gun mfg and the gun stores didn't know she was a psycho and couldn't have done squat to prevent these murders, but her shrink(s) sure as hell knew and might be the only ones left alive to blame. Makes more sense than blaming the gun or society.

  29. She supported The Governor's special Session for Red Flag laws, that is enough right there. I can remember when Ogles was head of AFP in 2016 and Brian Kelsey then Chair of Senate Judiciary told me he was voting against Constitutional Carry, Ogles threatened to cut him off from AFP if he did not support the bill, of course Kelsey forced Stevens to vote against it to kill the bill, but is shows that Ogles is a real 2A supporter.

  30. With all due respect; let me translate this pronouncement: " We know best, how dare you ask these impertinent questions "..! It's the usual " Were experts n we know best. You are not mature nor smart enough to ask these impudent questions "... Some institutions and possibly personalities are being protected here, and it ain't the devastated families who lost loved ones here; nor the blueprints n floorplans of the Covenant School. I find the " morbidly curious " pronouncement to be a bit over the top. When you do that; you've moved from debate to defamation. That's never a good look. The questioning the details of what this poor demented child thought with an eye toward prevention of these tragedies is, in my view, a reasonable and fair question to be answered in the public forum. Your mileage obviously varies. leroy...

  31. I remember a former Speaker of the House, Beth Harwell, who claimed the mantle of Conservative and never once voted in favor of a 2nd Amendment piece of legislation. She supported the Democrat Governor when he vetoed the Guns in Bars Bill, she voted twice on the floor two years in a row against it and voted then to sustain his veto two years in a row. Makes me leery of those who toss that modifier about.

"How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual... as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care of." - Suzanna Hupp Is Speaker Sexton a reliable Conservative, how about Governor Bill Lee?

  33. I’m so tired of voting for republicans because they’re the lesser of the two evils. I made the mistake once of voting for an independent (Ross Perot) which got Bill Clinton elected, and I’ll never vote for a Democrat, but Lordy, is it too much to ask to get a truly conservative GOP who will follow through? Bill Lee sure suckered us in his first campaign and we had no real choice the 2nd.

  42. I'm with you. When I watched one of her ads and she called him that (a do-nothing politician), I was wondering if she was trying to sell me on him. I am actually thinking about running for office in the future and using that as my slogan. "I'm Your Do-Nothing Guy. I promise to not do anything except actively blocking everything."
