  8. I just got my first pistol mounted optic (Aimpoint ACRO) delivered, but don’t have it mounted yet, as I’m waiting on my slide to be delivered. I’ve also taken 2 red dot specific classes, an have done a lot of research for a couple years. It boils down to this (assuming the context is defensive use): 1) Get a Quality dot (RMR, Holosun, ACRO) 2) have it direct milled (no plates) 3) DONT Cowitness, this negates the Beni fit of the dot 4) your presentation (drawstroke) needs to be on point. A dot rewards a good presentation, and punishes a bad one. 5) Dots make shot calling a LOT easier

  12. We need to boycott; surfing is being held in French Polynesia. That reeks of colonialism and imperialism! The Polynesians deserve to have the shackles of French oppression removed... They should have the same quality of life and opportunities that freedom gives, just like the previously down trodden and now liberated Vietnamese peoples. And they need to bring back pistol duelling https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_dueling_at_the_Summer_Olympics

  13. I put one on one on a .22 pistol and I still struggle finding the dot, but it's 100% my fault for lack of practice. It is MUCH easier for follow-up shots, but I pocket-carry. I can't EDC one unless I go back to belt holsters.

  22. I have an orange plastic case with a pad inside. I spray some OneShot on it every once in a while and roll about 1 in 50 pcs of brass onto the pad. The Dillon XL650 and pistol only may be why that works for me. I'm only on my 2nd bottle ever.

  23. My daughter carried me to the clinic to have stitches removed yesterday. The 10 minute visit with the nurse turned into an hour. We asking questions that she couldn't answer. She asking questions that I could. I asked about changing the acid reflex pill to evening instead of morning. No, best suited with my morning drugs. I've been wanting chicken livers for some time now. A stop at Jack Pirtle's on the way home was a bit out of the way but we made it. I walked to the window and placed our orders, 6 piece dinner for me. Could have done the drive thru. I talked with the cashier about the old days, mid 80's when I worked Maintenace at the 12 restaurants and warehouse and us Desoto County people wanting one built near us. After about 8 minutes she said your order should have been ready before now so she filled it. I opened the box to find it filled with livers and 2 cups of gravy along with fries and biscuits. I ate 4 on the way home, tiny bites with gravy. I felt a gag and stopped. At my driveway my acid reflex kicked in and she got to see one of my gagging spells. 3 hours later I felt better and heated the box for my dinner. I got 6 livers down with gravy and fries this time before the gagging started again. My pup Sasha got 3 livers while I ate mine. Knowing that the remaining livers wouldn't be good heated up again I bagged them for Sasha as treats. I counted another 18 livers. During these acid reflex gagging attacks I spit up a lot of flim of stomach acid and mucus, no food. It leaves my esophagus and throat raw. I'm on an acid reflex med that I don't think is suited to me. At 6 pm I searched all the online action sites that are local. All closed for the day. I started watching a new to me old western on Utube. I nodded twice and caught myself. Later I nodded again, the movie was at a point where I felt like I missed some. Yep, 1 minute 13 seconds. Got to watch that better. I don't need to fall off this stool and be laid out in the floor. Being wore out from the day I was in bed before 7 pm. At 1:20 am I'm awake with a million tiny burps and a raw throat again. I think this is the longest I've slept since being home from the hospital. I ate a few cookies with a strawberry boost and I was back in bed from 3:25 till 6:40.

  27. My tomatoes are coming in faster than I can handle. I canned 5 quarts on Saturday and 7, almost 8 more today. Something I do that helps... I process my tomatoes, a couple of times a week if necessary, (I did all 7+ quarts today) and put them in the fridge in their canning jars until I have 7 quarts to run the canner. I've put up 21 quarts of tomatoes this month. Starting to wonder how many we really need?

  28. I planted an about 3 weeks too early this year. Which turned out pretty good after having to cover everything a couple times for frost warning. I had about a dozen tomato plants. Radishes planted everywhere I could find room. Later Japanese mustards greens, sweet corn, cucumbers and green beans. First off I never ate so many radishes in my life. The tomatoes came in very well we froze a lot. Had mater sandwiches and blts, and salads, gave the neighbors some. Things are slowing down quite a bit now but hopefully will get a few more tomatoes. I also had a bunch of broccoli planted but I don’t think it’s going to work out.

  29. I bought a Shadow Systems XR920 and installed a Holosun 507 and it is great for my seasoned and experienced eyesight!! I also bought a green dot for a Glock 19 and actually prefer the green dot due to my astigmatism. I’ll put one on my Smith and Wesson Shield Plus soon (gotta get the gun fund replenished). I highly recommend red/green dot optics. Like Defender said—it does take some adjusting and it took a lot of dry fire practice for me to get the presentation consistent.

  30. I also have the Holosun EPS green 6MOA on my Sig P365- I can't honestly think of a reason not to use one- The first time I shot my Sig it had the Sig red dot from the factory-it was a epiphany-why was I not using these before now- I have carried a 1911 kimber Ultra for most of the time I have had my permit- I liked the dot so much it made me rethink my carry options-

  31. Fuel pumps wouldn't last but about 6 to 8 months in an '89 Silverado I had. I wound up cutting out a square and welding a piano hinge in the bed floor and kept a spare fuel pump in the tool box. Could change it out in just a few minutes after that.

  33. The worthless NRA gave Haile an Orange card, that should be evidence enough that he is the wrong guy. His sponsorship and passage of the Puberty Blockers bill shows he is deep in the pocket of Big Pharma, that is all I need to know.
