1981 Yamaha XS650 Special 10,000 miles only. Might go up a bit..... Excellent condition, any test ride welcome (with cash) Comes with the factory King & Queen seat, as well as the flat one I had custom made. Unfortunately I don't have the original buckhorn handlebars. Paintwork & chrome is excellent. Engine is perfect & unmolested, starts at the first kick or button push. Alternator rotor was rewound last September. Also includes luggage rack. The bike has been incredibly well looked after & maintained its entire life. Always stored undercover & babied! Will Carry: I was on the Chattooga River, section 4, at the five falls section. One of the five rapids is called "Sock'em Dogs."This rapid has killed some really good paddlers. As we walked downstream to scout the drop at Sock'em Dog, I took one look and said, "I think I will carry this rapid." Then my buddy Joe says "Dang dude, I didn't drive 7 hrs to portage a rapid." I replied, "I didn't drive 7 hrs to die in one." This changed my attitude toward kayaking. I decided that I would portage any rapid I want to. I WILL CARRY! I used to paddle with these guys that were better than me, they were Hair Boaters and every time I paddled with them, I was scared witless. Knowing that I WILL CARRY any rapid I want to, allowed me to enjoy kayaking again. We ran some unbelievable creeks and rivers, my favorites are in East Tennessee, Daddies Creek Canyon, The Tiny Piney River, Crooked Fork Creek to name a few. angit2 points

If you want to feel betrayed, consider the Democrats made it a crime to carry a handgun in 1801 ,then any forearm in 1870 and the Republicans have had a majority for 8 years under Haslam, then a super majority for 6 more years and have not corrected that lack yet. They have been told time and again their actions are unconstitutional but they do not care, they love power and they love to control. If you don't believe that just look at how they killed the Constitutional Amendment to let the People vote on removing the Jim Crow law from 1870.1 point

That call has been made, we are waiting on a reply. Actually, I hope they let it go forward as we will sue and win, as will FPC, GOA, 2nd Amendment Foundation, NAGR and maybe even the slothful NRA as it might make them some money.1 point

This is what they will face if they try to enforce the sure to be passed issues: 39-1701314 (g)(1) (A) Notwithstanding title 29, chapter 20; title 9, chapter 8; and § 20-13-102, a party may file an action in a court of competent jurisdiction against any of the persons or entities listed in subdivisions (g)(1)(A)(i) and (ii), if the party is adversely affected by: (i) An ordinance, resolution, policy, rule, or other enactment that is adopted or enforced by a county, city, town, municipality, or metropolitan government or any local agency, department, or official that violates this section; or (ii) The creation or maintenance of a record, database, registry, or collection of records, in violation of § 39-17-1305, by a state or local government entity, official, employee, or agent. (B) The adversely affected party may seek: (i) Declaratory and injunctive relief; and (ii) Damages, as provided in subsection (i). (h) As used in subsection (g), a party is “adversely affected” if: (1) The party is an individual who: (A) Lawfully resides within the United States; (B) May legally possess a firearm under Tennessee law; and (C) Is or was subject to the ordinance, resolution, policy, rule, or other enactment or was included as an entry on a database, registry, or collection of records, that is the subject of an action filed under subsection (g). They lost the suit in NAGR vs Garland. The language in the 60+ pg decision is very clear in shutting them down from making what amounts to new laws and circumventing Congress. It applies to so much more than just FRT's1 point

This is the same judge that issued the TRO on my "engaged in the business" case with GOA and Ken Paxton. Here is a poignant quote from the ruling: Because the Cargill decisions from the en banc Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court are squarely dispositive of the issue in this case, the Court concludes that ATF’s regulation is not in accord with the statutory definition of “machinegun.” By redefining the statutory definition, the ATF exceeded the scope of its authority. Upon determining that an agency’s action is unlawful, that “agency action must be set aside if the action was ‘arbitrary, capricious, an abuse of discretion, or otherwise not in accordance with law’ or if the action failed to meet statutory, procedural, or constitutional requirements.” Citizens to Preserve Overton Park, 401 U.S. at 413–14 (1971) (citing 5 U.S.C. § 706(2)(A)–(D)). I'm sure there is another name thread somewhere. I'm sure I posted to that one. But since we're here now, why not? When my sons were growing up I spent 12 years as a Boy Scout Leader. During that time I took an advanced leader course called Wood Badge. There I was assigned to the Fox Patrol. My hair went completely gray in my 30s. Its a family trait. It took my fellow Scouters all of about 30 seconds to dub me the "Gray Fox". The nickname just sorta stuck. When I first registered here, it told me that name was already taken. So I just tacked on my birth year 1954.1 point

I think there was a much more recent version of this thread, but since @Omega pulled it from the archives I figured I would respond. Pretty easy Snaveba is A.B. Evans (my initials and last name) backwards. This goes back to trying to create an email address on AOL almost 30 years ago. Everything I tried was taken. AOL kept offering AEvans (and some number) so I just did abevans backwards.1 point

I've told the story many times about my wife's arthritis in her hands. She finally settled on a 2" S&W Model 30 in .32 S&W Long. She could shoot it very well and the recoil didn't hurt her hands. If you were to buy something in .327 Fed Magnum, she could shoot .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Magnum or .327 Federal Magnum all out of the same gun. She could try the various cartridges and settle on whichever one she could shoot and handle the best. I really think that .32s are highly under rated.1 point

I know it’s not the question that you asked, but small revolvers suitable for carry, even in smaller calibers, are generally awful to actually shoot and use. If I may offer a bit of a recommendation outside of your actual ask, maybe have her take a firearms familiarization class from a local range where she gets to try and use several different handguns. The benefit may be twofold in that she may discover more confidence with a semi automatic pistol, but also may help discover what will actually work for her.1 point
