  1. Wondering if releasing the writings is harmful, then why is the media allowed to do an Anniversary story & dredge up old wounds .

  2. I suspect that if the shooter were some neo-nazi who shot up a minority school, all this hand-wringing and stonewalling about a manifest wouldn't exist. And a week later it would be Trump's fault.

  3. I’d just sell the house out there. Quit feeding them tax money. If you need to go to Cali, rent or lease and give them the big ! Invite your friends to Tennessee instead. And if you really need to be ear Disney, buy a house in Orlando!

  5. It it not the government that is “suppressing” this. The church initially, then the school and the families of the victims, asked that the writings and research conducted by the shooter not be released to the public. Then the lawsuits started. Then the family of the shooter gave the rights to all the writings, etc, to the families. The judge/government did not make the decision to not release the information. They just upheld the rights of the families to not release the documents. I don’t think the conservative Christian, Republican families of victims are trying to shield Vanderbilt if they have culpability in this. Nor do I think they are part of some “Liberal Agenda” to suppress anything because she was trans. If there is information in there that will help bring anyone who might have some culpability in this to justice, I feel pretty sure that the families and school will let the authorities use that information to the fullest extent of the law.

  6. She supported The Governor's special Session for Red Flag laws, that is enough right there. I can remember when Ogles was head of AFP in 2016 and Brian Kelsey then Chair of Senate Judiciary told me he was voting against Constitutional Carry, Ogles threatened to cut him off from AFP if he did not support the bill, of course Kelsey forced Stevens to vote against it to kill the bill, but is shows that Ogles is a real 2A supporter.

  7. Yep, The Hi-Power is my favorite 9mm pistol. I was hurt when Browning quit making them. But it seems that many others are stepping up to the plate. As for the Inglis, I'll take a good look. But doubt I'll buy. After all, I already have 5 variations of the Hi-Power as it is.

  9. I’m mostly interested in preventing something like this from ever happening again in the future. If there is something in those notes that could help with that, I think keeping them locked away is an injustice. I cannot begin to imagine the grief those involved live with every day, but I’d think they’d want to prevent a repeat of this as well.

  11. Ok guys. Up for sale or trade is a cool different take on the AR platform. Basically a special lower receiver and BCG. Install an AR15 platform upper receiver and you’re good to go. The stock is a Remington 1100/870 style stock. Currently has a complete Aero upper receiver. Accepts normal AR magazines. Will come with 3-30rnd pmags. Has a Magpul fore grip installed. Magpul MBUS PRO iron sights. Monstrum 1-10x24 mm LPVO. It is less intimidating for new shooters IMO. Today it is up for sale or trade. New these things run 1300 plus stripped down. I think a fair starting point is 1000 with mags, sights, optic, and grip. I’m always willing to listen to offers. Trade interest are AR15/10 lowers stripped or complete. MOS version of the 9mm Glocks. Decent semi auto 12ga shotguns. Always interested in fair priced ammo as a trade option. 9mm,357Sig, 5.56/223, 308/7.62nato. East TN area. Knoxville to Chattanooga could work for meet.

  16. Just found out about this forum. Im not new to shooting, shot my first round at age 5 while sitting on my dads knee and pulled the trigger on his 30-06. I was 5 years old and all it took was that first shot to spark a lifelong love of shooting. For years I shot IPSC but due to aging I now casually punch holes in paper. I love lever guns and all types of 22 LR rifles but my real passion is revolvers and 1911’s. There’s a place for polymer but I love metal, real guns ;~} I’ve been a reloaded for more than 40 years and enjoy customizing my loads for each of my guns. I love the technical aspects of reloading and find it very relaxing. Im looking forward to sharing information and hope to meet some of you at the range, ORSA.

  18. To each his own, but I never thought the open carry thing wuz a good idea unless ya were goin hunting, working on the farm or woods, or goin to a shooting event. To me, it's a relic of times passed and it opens the door to lotsa potential problems; not the least of which is panic calls from the " less reasonable and informed " to police that an armed madman is on the loose. I would much prefer that my pistola(s) be much like my sainted mom's petticoat slip n bloomers; very demure and out of sight of prying eyes... leroy...

  25. Your neighbors can stop back yard shooting whenever they deem it a nuisance or annoyance under that prevision. If I wanted to shoot in my yard, on a regular basis, I would find another property. Gun haters are everywhere, and they can move in tomorrow the way property is selling today. Most of my neighbors have been here for years and they know I shoot from time to time.

  26. It's just the ramblings of a psychopath as far as I am concerned. Even if horrors happened to her, she became a monster herself when she took it out on other innocents. I do get that some people want desperately to find answers, or maybe that "eureka" moment that would allow the world to identify the trigger for madness, but I fear that all you'll read was madness to begin with. There's no light at the end of that tunnel. Honestly I worry that it would inspire copy cats if anything. People love the macabre.

  27. I owned a late 70’s 6” Python I bought new and like an idiot I sold it for 5 times what I paid for it and have regretted it ever since. I’m sure I spent the money for something fun but I e always kicked myself until my wife told my to buy myself a new 4.25” as a retirement gift. Well I did and that started something. Now 10 colts later I’m still on the lookout for other vintage models. I have 3 of the new Pythons in 3”, 4.25” and 6” and they’re every bit what the old ones were and better. I considered a blue but after seeing it I like the stainless better. The blue is more black than the old blue which I loved so I think I’ll stick with my stainless. As to 3 vs 2 vents, I don’t really care. My new KC 22 4.25” has 3 and my 1st gen 4” Diamondback 22 has 2 and neither bother me.

  28. I don’t have a double action Ruger or Taurus and never shot either but I’ve been looking for a 327 Fed Mag for range fun mainly to shoot home loads in 32 S&W Long and been considering both. My dealer Carrie’s Taurus and Ruger but unfortunately doesn’t have a 327. I’m looking at the SP101 and just handling the 357 version I’m impressed. I own and have owned quite a few Single Action and 22 auto Rugers and the SP101 looks like the kind of quality I’ve experienced with their SA and autos. The trigger is smooth but a little heavy but I imagine that’ll improve with use.

  34. The difference in me and you ( and the families ) is, Indeed, that I'm not " intimately involved "... That, I will grant. I can ( and do ) have empathy for them. That said, I believe that this is an issue of substantial public safety interest having considerable, social, political, professional, and institutional ramifications that does not need to be hidden nor swept under the rug under the guise of protecting the feelings of those involved. Those " involved " will, sadly never recover from this tragedy; and I understand that. That does not lessen the need for these issues not to be fully aired. leroy...

  35. In case you haven’t noticed, our government, as well as the media, have recently proven themselves quite untrustworthy. This, coupled with the fact so many folks are adamant the public not see this material makes me think that something very bad is being covered up.
    1 point
  36. Man, the conspiracy theories. Has it not occurred to everyone that: 1: The School and Church (with the concurrence of MPD) don’t want intimate details of the school (layout, etc) made public to the crazies that obsess on school shooters/shootings (like this school shooter did). The school still gets threats from crazies since the shooting. 2: The School and the Chirch (with the concurrence of the MPD) don’t think in that putting the crazy writings, detailed preparations, and others research done by this shooter will do anything but help fuel the next school shooting. 3: Putting all this out will be mentally harmful to the families that lost loved ones, as well as to the student and adult survivors (my wife included) that still deal with the effects of the shooting every day. 4: Once it is out there, it will forever be out there on the internet for future crazies to read, covet, and use to fuel their own sick fantasies. 5:Most folks who want this material released are just morbidly curious. Others think there is must be some “big reason” that “we can’t know about” or that “doesn’t fit the agenda” or some other political bull####.

  40. Because it's working SO well for them, there. There are hardly any shootings at all in LA, SF, and their other metropolitan areas, right? One of my buddies lives in the Sacramento area and was turned down on an ammo purchase recently. It turned out that it was because he'd not purchased any in "x" number of years. He had to go through the background check again to buy a box of .380 ACP. I don't know how people there put up with it. My home state, Washington, is rapidly catching up. I'm so glad to live in Tennessee now!

  41. I shoot in my back yard all the time, but am respectful of neighbors. No shooting before 9:00 AM and after 7:00 PM. handguns mostly. Do sight in Rifles, some times, but do it midday. Shoot 22 LR most any time but use subsonic ammo. Little less noise. Lived her 40 years and never had a lawman visit.
