  1. SOLD PENDING RECEIPT OF FUNDS Here's one that doesn't come along often -- a S&W Model 629 no-dash, .44 Magnum, 4-inch barrel, with WO rear sight and RR front, smooth combat trigger. Only a few of these were made in 1980 and 1981 before the 629-1 came out and the pinned barrel and recessed chambers were eliminated. The gun is in very good condition. Wooden grips are S&W but not serialized and I do not believe are original to the gun. No box. Because of this, I'm letting it go for $1300 to a TN resident legally able to purchase handguns. More photos available on request. Thanks for looking, Whisper

  2. I may be wrong, but I doubt you'll get a lot of buyers willing to go to an FFL and submit to a background check to buy a used gun. The law doesn't require background checks or bills of sale for a private sale.

  3. Feels like you're overthinking this. First time? Are you offloading a truckload of firearms or something? There's really not much to it. Meet the buyer in an open, public space during the daytime, ask them for ID to make sure they are a resident. You can even go so far as to ask them if they are legally allowed to own a firearm or say that a bill of sale is a requirement, though a lot of folks will frown at this. Personally, I just meet up with TGO'ers that have good rep. So far so good.

  6. Sig MCX. Like new. I’m the original owner. Under 100 rounds through it. comes with original box and stuff. Awesome gun. Very smooth shooting compared to an AR. It has the original 3 prong flash hider on it since the photo were taken. 1400 obo

  7. Dead on. The ONLY reason I think anyone would volunteer for this is if the firearm was exceedingly rare and this was the toll gate to acquiring it. If it's like a glock or something, real unlikely.

  8. For in-same-state sellers that require FFL background checks, I doubt sellers will pay for the buyer's fee for the FFL background check since the buyer may get legitimately or by error rejected.

  10. I was a Taurus hater for a long time. Taurus has really upped their game in the past couple of years. I own a 15 year old Judge that is a piece of junk. Great for shooting rats at <12 feet. Puts down shotgun sized groups with 45LC at 20 yards. Clunky, bad finish, poor craftsmanship, etc. I picked up a 4" Taurus Tracker in 44mag a few months ago. I really like it. The timing is as it should be, the trigger is crisp, and the fit and finish are very good. And it's plenty accurate. They're right at half the price of a comparable Smith. I am 100% happy with it. Plus, I bought it to pig hunt with. It's going to get used and beat around. With the price that Smith's have gotten to, it kinda hurts when you add a character mark.

  11. Fantastic 4Runner 4x4. It has 235k miles, one owner for most of its life, and always TN owned. Lexpro in Franklin did all the maintenance for years. Needs nothing. I have a HUGE itemized list of all the maintenance items. Maintained with an open checkbook. Some cosmetic dings here and there, and the roof clear coat is peeling, but nothing out of the norm for an ‘08. Clean title and Carfax. $8000 obo

  12. This Springfield Emissary needs a new home. It's a great shooting pistol, but I would rather have a full size 1911. The gun comes with the factory box and docs, as well as the soft case and 3 mags (2 factory, 1 MecGar). It's in very good condition, with one small mark on the slide above the slide release. I would rather sell but I will consider trades for government/full size 1911s in any caliber. Cash price $900 You can text me at 4two3-6o5-8two49.

  16. Picked up a new suppressor host so this one is now up for sale. Ruger Mark IV in Iron Valley Distributor exclusive. Sweet little gun, great as a suppressor host. I bought it new and put 50 rounds through it. It does have a small ding (pictured) that was there when I bought it. Of course comes with the 2 mags and case that it came with new. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Not really looking to trade as I just ordered a Ruger PCC but if you feel compelled to shoot me an offer feel free to do so. $500

  19. Un-freaking-believable. No First Amendment rights? Let's cover up the truth about what drove & motivated this particular school shooter because it might upset a certain group. And then we'll attack anyone that did print the truth because we can't have the truth out there. It's astonishing to me. I can't wait for the Tennessee Star to prevail in this case. It shouldn't even be a case. National security was not at issue here.

  20. Met John Force for the first time in99 he was at an opening of an auto parts store in Nashville great guy. I have several of his autographs including a castorol jacket from the 49th US Nationals. There is an autograph picture of him hanging in my son’s room. Saw him run at the 49th and 50th US Nationals. I have followed him since I was a kid and he was still driving Oldsmobile. Hope he recovers

  21. The record is 341mph now. Regular run in the 330s. Based on what I'm reading I don't think he'll drive anymore.

  22. I hope John Force retires from behind the wheel and decides to run the Force Organization and lets the younger people do the driving. I never thought Funny Cars would ever break the 300 MPH but they said John was over 300 just before the crash!!! I remember when Don Gartlets cracked the 200 mile mark in a rail dragster.

  26. When I have sold rifles/shotguns out of state, I usually specify they the buyer is responsible for all FFL related fees. However, if it was a local in-state transaction, and I was the buyer, I agree it would likely be the opposite (seller pays fees) unless the firearm was a really good deal, or I really wanted it. I also recognize that the first time you do a private transaction, it is a little odd feeling. I don’t typically worry with the “private bill of sale” but I have no problem signing one. I have used them for handgun and AR sales.

  27. The ATF can only suggest a change, they have no authority to make a law that is up to Congresses to pass any laws. Selling to an individual here or anywhere in TN is legal, but you have the right to use an FFL to do the transaction if that is what you specify to sell your gun. I will say that I don't have a problem with doing that but if someone wants me meet then at the FFL then he's going to pay my part in the paperwork and transfer fee that the FFL Dealer charges.

  28. Pretty simple. You meet another TN resident that you have reason to believe and professes that they are legal to own a firearm. You trade or sell them a gun. That is the law's requirement. Id viewing and bill of sales make some people feel better but are not required.

  29. What exactly has an FFL told you to make you worry about a private firearm transfer? https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/whom-may-unlicensed-person-transfer-firearms-under-gca

  30. I appreciate all the comments above, especially from folks like pop pop who have firsthand experience owning multiple Taurususes. The 605 I had years ago was reliable, easy to carry, and grouped well. Its trigger had a slightly gritty feel to it, but to me that's OK in a workhorse/knockaround gun.

  32. I have bought and sold many firearms through this group. Actually, selling a pistol is what brought me here. Hang around a while, participate in discussions, become a benefactor, and post what you want to sell. You will likely find a buyer for whatever you are selling and you will get a lot more than selling to an FFL. If you are worried about the whole private sales thing, you can make a sale through an FFL. That will cost a little more (or take from the sales price) but still likely be better than selling outright to a gun shop.

  33. Trading in a gun = you will get hosed If you don’t want to deal with selling, maybe try consignment at a local shop. I have had good luck with consignment over the years. Some stores have dumb consignment policies - their X% on top of what you want out of it is pretty high and sometimes makes the gun too expensive or your share of the sell too low. Other shops are pretty reasonable with their share of the sale.

  34. It's like trading in a car to the dealership. You're not going to the same money as private party because they've got overhead. Since prices fluctuate regularly, you have to go in and see what they will offer you at that time.

On the blade itself, Protech and Strider small images are mandatory Back to the handle, If you all would just like the design like we did on the Godfather, just the 3 bullet holes, I think that would look the best personally Let me know if you want that, Much more discreet and refined in my opinion
