  1. Peepholes and Ring cameras exist for a reason. You are under no obligation to answer the door at all. “We just want to talk.” ”You can talk to each other.”

  3. Just read an article, in the Dillion Blue Press magazine/catalog. Do you know what to say or how to react if ATF showed up at your front door. This lawyer from Arizona, within the discussion, says it happens more than most people think. Would you know how to respond? I wouldn't. He gives 2 things to remember, after you have checked out the persons/agent's credentials and not just look at his or her badge. Make them show you their credentials. Then remember you have a right to not answer any questions, "Period", and most defiantly you should not. Then you do not have to agree to an on-property search of your house without a valid search warrant. He also advised to not allow them into your house at all and just close the door. Etiquette is not required nor being rude doesn't count either. Simply close the door. He says one must remember they are not there for a joyous evening tea or to just to chew the fat, so to speak. If they are on your front porch then they are on business, and by answering questions or allowing a search, without a valid search warrant, you will most likely end up only hurting yourself. Sounds good to me.

  6. NOT TRUE! They can ask to come see your records or specific firearms. You have the option of going to their office or having them come to your home. Go to their office!!! Also, if you have a C&R license, do not renew at the end of the three years. Let it expire and then re-apply. You'll only lose a couple of weeks of use of the license. But, it means that you can destroy your previous records. Rules for '01' FFLs do not necessarily apply to '03' C&R licensees.

  7. I assume you have an MOS? It will fit with the adapter plate or you can grind the extra nubs off and fit it directly

  8. Just remember lying to a federal government official is a federal crime that can receive up to 5 years in prison. Not giving advice here but if I had a fed do a knock and talk, as soon as they identified themselves, I would say I have nothing to say please leave my property and close the door.

  9. I. have a bunch of .22 hand guns. Not sure I could pick just one. Strictly for target plinking I would probably go with my Ruger Mark IV with red dot for a semi and for for a revolver my Single Six 9.5” barrel. I shoot those two the most. If it is someone getting use to a hand gun with the idea of buying something bigger in the future I would pick my Ruger SR22. I often drag out a selection of my handguns for a new shooter to try and 4 or 5 have bought the SR22, one has bought a Mark IV, two have bought either a shorter Single 6 or the cheaper Heritage knock off. I guess I'm a big Ruger fan, have more Ruger .22 hand guns than any other brand and shoot them the most.

  12. Up for sale is my S&W model 36 (no dash) with correct box. My S&W catalog dates the serial number to 1973 or 1974. $750 $650 in the Mt. Juliet area. Thinning out some of my safe queens - not really looking for trades at this time but you never know.

  13. "You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky? ' Well, do you, punk?" - Inspector Callahan Thinning out my safe queens. Someone would give this nice Model 29 a better home than my safe. Not really looking for trades at this time. For sale is my Model 29-2 with the Dirty Harry 6" barrel (yeah, he also used an 8" version in the movies). It is pinned and recessed. The felt in the presentation box is non-existent at this point. I just never bother to replace the plastic/felt insert. My S&W catalog dates the serial number to 1972 1979 (opps, double checked). It has the 6" barrel. $1400 $1200 in the Mt. Juliet area.

  14. I’m very interested in this. I’m a GOA member but have always thought of them as a law specific group. This is to be there first convention and I’m interested. I’ve been to the NRA convention but always felt like they was “elite” and the donors were the minions and peasants. Perhaps with all of the corruption is the reason why I switched full support over to GOA. Just checking out to see if anyone is going. It’s the 17&18 of August at the Knox convention center.

  20. A buddy is in law enforcement and he does this 1: 90-95% of the time he knows the answer before he asks the question. 2: If you lie to him, he's not going to cut you any slack. 3: If you're honest with him, you're getting the minimum he can hit you with. 4: He's shocked at how many people talk to him. He doesn't like it when people don't talk, but he respects them. He'll admit its the only way you're going to get away with it. You're going to have few bad days going to court though. 5: Facebook is outstanding for evidence. There are some guys that picked up a few felonies because of Facebook. For the love of God....don't accept a friend request from someone you don't know and discuss illegal activities with them.

  24. Looking good! I love street style bobbers. I had a 92 FXR (Dyna) with a EVO motor, fun bike. As luck might go, may get it back. LOL it had a bit of mild body work done to it before I had bought it and planned to make it look a bit better like redoing a rear fender. EVOs are solid motors with a great sound. I liked it too because it’s starting to be retro or a classic. It’s the blue bike in the pic..

  29. My Winchester 94 finally arrived home Wednesday, after I freed it from layaway (along with a S&W I-Frame .32 long). I plan to refinish it. So @Snavebaexpect some questions from me, when I get started on this project. The serial number (188XXXX) indicates it was produced in 1952.

  30. That're worth about 800 bucks! Ain't screwin' with em when aftermarket are less than 2 bills & some elbow grease! A full set of good condition, original matching tins with caps, lights & fender tips is worth about 3½ GRAND right now! I'm occasionally dumb, but never knowingly stupid

  31. I’ll toss out another vote for the Taurus TX22! Bought one several years ago and it quickly became my favorite .22. So much so, that I gave my Ruger MkII Target pistol to my dad. I just never shot it anymore, after buying the Taurus. I’m very interested in buying the TX22 Compact model now.

  36. Thanks for the recommendations, all. I knew I'd get solid recommendations to consider. Lots of love for the Taurus', though I can see why. I'll have to whittle down the plethora of TX22 offerings to one I like. Then I'll have to make a choice between a .22LR handgun, or a CZ Scorpion 3+. Tough life for me, folks.

  38. Hornady gauges are very very tight. They are not forgiving at all. Even some of Hornady ammo off the shelf wont even gauge in their own gauges. Shock bottle gauges are extremely forgiving and if your ammo does not gauge in a shock bottle gauge I would suggest not shooting it. Some of the reasons 9mm cartridges dont gauge are: Glock bulge in the old case (need to be roll sized) Concentricity of the projectile is not perfect (initial seating die needs adjusting) Cases are hairline cracked (visual inspection before loading or can only be checked by a camdex processor) OAL is not to spec There are several other variables but these are the major reasons. Unless you are shooting tournament I would not use a Hornady gauge. I would suggest a shockbottle gauge for range ammo and Wolff gauge for self defense. Best of luck and hope this helps a little
