  2. Indeed. Along those lines, it totally breaks my brain when I see $100k in cars sitting in the driveway with $1000 in junk filling up the garage.

  4. There absolutely are still minimum wage jobs filled currently. Fast food jobs for high school kids and young adults that still live at home, which is a significant amount of people. Food service, in general, still employs people at minimum wage. It's easy to forget there are plenty of people that are supported by others that don't have to solely rely on their paycheck to survive, especially in more rural areas where local job opportunities are limited. There are more than just big cities with dense populations of adults fighting to stay afloat. When you have businesses in those parts full of people and you still can't fill those positions even as you increase the pay, it's not a minimum wage issue, it's a people issue. When primary schools turned into hardcore indoctrination camps, they forgot that they still needed to create worker bees in the process. That said, here we are.

Was a 07/SOT for 15 or so, put myself through school doing it and when we flooded in 2016 I just didn't reopen and sold my machines. Used to build lots of SBR/SBS and integrals. Now I just like to shoot, I'll probably thin the heard a little before long. Thanks for having me Below is a milled M72 just for attention

  8. I feel for anyone trying to survive on low income but I know many people making 6 figure incomes who are drowning in credit card debt. Discipline and living within your means is the key. A great friend and mentor never made much money but in the end he was very well off financially in retirement. The credit card system is an insane money making machine. They charge the business hefty fees and then insane interest rates for anyone who carries a balance. I'm a ninja using credit cards. Drives my wife nuts having her use a different card at times because of the rebates, points etc. If you never carry a balance you would be amazed the amount of money you can generate from them. They've bought me a lot of guns and ammo. The real sad thing is how the consumer and the business owner have been programmed. I always offer to pay by check or cash with many businesses and most prefer I use a credit card. Being in the insurance industry I do know some businesses can no longer accept cash or checks due to theft, etc.

  9. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics only 1.7% of workers make minimum wage. The harm of raising minimum wage isn't just in forcing companies to pay more for labor than it's worth for under 2% of the workforce. The harm is that most union labor contracts contain automatic pay increases when minimum wage increase and the industries that rely on unskilled minimum wage labor see drastic hits on their labor costs, forcing huge price increases that consumers won't pay (resulting in fewer jobs for unskilled workers).

  10. Simple no one. I'm in manufacturing, no experience needed we'll/I'll train you, what that gets you is someone with a pulse, pretty much no common sense or clueless about quality of what they do. The owner kept bumping the pay by a buck and hr to what I feel is fair for the area we are in, still get chit, rolls out a incentive program for perfect attendance $50 a week on top of your pay (free $1.25hr pay bump) and they can't even do that... 13. Mortgage lenders are getting desperate to close deals. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240516437694/en/UWM-Announces-0-Down-Purchase-Program They'll say this is different because NINJA loans aren't in play, and ARMs aren't carrying the load...but it's still not a great idea. The concept that housing should be some protected market that isn't susceptible to corrections and crashes when things get bad is a wrong one. One of the things that made the Great Recession happen through the housing market was a lack of skin in the game when it came to mortgages. It's a lot easier to walk away from a home you didn't put anything down on, and your mortgage was in effect an approximation of rent in terms of financial burden. Having money you had to save, and at risk in the event of default...well, then you're much more apt to cut back on luxuries, get a side gig, and other things to keep from losing the asset and all that invested money in foreclosure.

  20. You can rest assured that no Board Member or Director of TFA draws one penny from our funds. They are used to support good candidates, oppose bad ones and for our litigation only. All of the trips I make to Nashville, all of the speeches I give across the state are on my own dime and own time. I do not get reimbursed for gas, meals or hotels.

  24. Lots of good hotels, but very expensive. I would just use Kayak or one of the compare sites for the dates you are looking and find what works for your budget. Last time I was there I spend $500 for one night at the Embassy Suites since that was where they were staying. Crazy money, but was cheaper than a DUI when meeting friends from out of town. I would expect to pay a minimum of $250 if downtown. You may also check some AirBNB's.

  26. Just wondering who is getting paid minimum wage these days? Every entry level job I see advertised is for close to 20 bucks an hour. Well, at least in the greater Nashville area anyway.

  27. After pending a significant part of my life traveling the world courtesy of dear old Uncle Sam, I now prefer to just start home. I despise air travel. I dont like long road trips because of traffic. My wife on the other hand, really enjoys goi g, so she goes mostly with female family and/or a femal friend of hers on mini-vacations on some long weekends throughout the year. While we dont retain debt, we do use a credit card for large purchases to get free hotel rooms, then pay it off at the end of each month. She uses those and adds a day here and there. I despise hotels almost as much as I do air travel. Ive never flown first class, but could possibly modify my opinion if i were able to go first class. I did enjoy my 14 years in Europe and wouldn’t mind going back for a visitor two, if i won the big lottery.

  28. I'm convinced that it will take considerable funds and votes to make a change. District 18 for example has an opportunity to send a RINO packing that has shown me he cares little about our rights and is an influence peddler of the highest order.

  33. Make your wonderful HK VP9 even happier than it already is -- give it new capabilities with an optics-ready longslide conversion kit. Comes complete with new slide, barrel, recoil spring assembly, and even a set of spare O-rings for the long barrel. High-profile HK sights suitable for optic or suppressor. Made in Germany; slide bears the antler proof mark of the Ulm proof house. This kit is brand new in the box, never fired (although the box does have some handling wear). $300; I'll meet a potential buyer near Chattanooga or, since it's not an actual gun, I can ship anywhere at buyer's expense. Thanks for looking, Whisper

  34. The current Range USA(s) and the old one are not the same. The current brand was formerly ShootPointBlank, which is a multi state corporation. Imagine if Baskin-Robbin’s sold guns instead of ice cream.

  35. Navigating the current legal landscape and understanding the responsibility of carrying a permit IS the training. The shooting test is as basic as basic can be. Not much different than getting a driver's license. The written test takes the most time and study. The driving test is a basic skills assessment. Once you have acquired said license, you have the freedom to improve your skills on your own time. Put miles down, put lead down range. Same, same.

  42. We have forced a c 3 whose Mission Statement is simply to litigate for restorative issues related to the 2nd Amendment in TN. Just imagine if every hunter who bought a license (some 840K) would donate the cost of a box of ammo to that Foundation, it would give us over $8Million to hire attorneys and brief writers, we could tear them up here.
