  1. Went hiking at Natural Bridge State Park, in eastern Kentucky's Red River Gorge, yesterday. We rode the cable gondolas to the top of the mountain and hiked over, and under the bridge. We rode the cable down to the parking lot after our short hike. Had my wife, daughter, her husband, and son in tow. Was a great afternoon. Was up there visiting family. Wore sneakers. Was very proud of myself after having a heart attack back on April 15th and climbing over 40 very uneven steps, hewn out of limestone, out from under the bridge and back to the top. Did not need to stop one time. No heart pain or shortness of breath. Cardiac Rehab is working well for me. Went this morning to C Rehab and attending 3 days per week for 3 months. Life is grand, however to "GOD" goes the glory. He is taking care of me and I praise "Him".

  3. Four gun groups were instrumental in helping the Texas Attorney General get a restraining order against an ATF rule and protect private sales of firearms until next month. They are the Gun Owners of America, Inc. (“GOA”), the Gun Owners Foundation (“GOF”), the Tennessee Firearms Association (“TFA”) , and the Virginia Citizens Defense League (“VCDL”). 5. Howdy fellers and ladies. Just wanted to see, if like normal, my opinion is on the fringe or if I may be closer to reality now. my issue is with good, hard working folks donating money to help fight the crazies from restricting things that if we really ARE following the constitution , are said NOT to be infringed. First off is the long tenured NRA. ALWAYS happens. When no one is looking, someone always gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Never fails. Although we expect them to operate within reason, lobby for the needs of its members, and be an honest person with upstanding integrity. We know that when anyone is paid millions to do what they would do for free, they always want more. Don’t matter what it is. EVERY single time. Not that it has finally happened to the NRA but, it seems to be the first time there was wide spread knowledge about it. To me seems like ROT. Needs to be cut completely out. ALL of it and start over. Seems as crooked as Hillary’s email server or Orange mans accounting books. Can’t be fixed needs total destruction, lessons learned and rebuilt totally if at all relevant anymore. With the likes of GOA and FPC (who are actually doing the things NRA is supposed to) why is there a need for a corrupt NRA anymore? I have failed to renew my membership for this reason. My donations have started to go to GOA and FPC. Although it’s hard to completely entrust because of the corruption seen at the NRA. I’m guessing it will be there for a while. If the GOA was able to get so many things accomplished with small group of donators, can you imagine if they had equal backing as the NRA? I honestly don’t remember the last time the NRA was relevant but kept renewing my membership because that’s what we do in my family. I guess with all the crazies, window lickers, tree huggers, and other democrats, to me our rights have become more important to defend. I would rather it be defended by honest people. Just my rant!! Am I on the fringe again? Too much truth?

  7. Are you too cool for an AR-15? Do you already have too many of them? Do you need more classic wood stocked goodness in your life? This is the gun for you. Has less than 200 rounds, comes with sling. No mag with it so I’m reducing price by $50. Depending on what you want mags are $14-$30.

  10. I am not a Harley fan at all so hack and spray away! There is a reason those original parts sell for such good money though. People want to restore wrecked or previously hacked up versions of the bike back to "original" Seldom do modified bikes bring original bike money.

  14. I have a Delta ShopMaster 10" 13-Amp portable table saw with a stand. I don't have the pins/toggles that attach the saw to the stand. It's just 4 holes so any bolt that fits in the holes will do. The saw has a solid anodized-aluminum table that measures 17-1/2 by 34 inches. It allows for a 20-inch maximum rip to the right of the blade and a maximum depth of cut at 90° of 3" (76mm). The blade has a diameter of 10" (254 mm) and operates at a speed of 5000 rpm. The saw also features a front- and rear-locking T-square-type fence and a miter gauge with adjustable 90° and 45° stops. The motor is protected by a thermal overload protection system. Currently equipped with a 24-tooth blade for rough cuts. I wouldn't us that blade for any fine cuts but it works great on lumber and I used it to rip some oak plank flooring. It was plenty good for that. Located in Bellevue (west side of Nashville). I work near the Nashville airport and can meet in that area too. $100

  16. This. Last I checked, it was down to like 2 main companies. Get the highest "grade" available from any brand it should be pretty much the same as everyone else's. The last amazing batteries came from Panasonic in some Japanese cars in the 90s and early 00s. My Miata ran the original battery for 18 years and that's a very common thing in the Miata world. Sadly Panasonic doesn't make them any longer and is a shell of its former self. Aftermarket replacements last 3-5 years like all the others. I have a Duracell from Batteries Plus in it now and that's been good for 5 years so far. I keep it on a Battery Tender when I'm not driving the car much. I think that really helps.

  28. I fell into the credit card/interest bondage when I was single. I spent a lot trying to impress the young ladies. I finally married a frugal woman who minored in math in college. She watches the bills and checkbook like a hawk. We live modestly and don't go for all the latest and greatest gizmos that lure others into debt. We bought used cars and she is a Golden Gloves champ at negotiating the drive-out price. We do give a good sum to missions and other charitable works, but have never had need of nothing except God's good grace. My advice to young men is to marry a Proverbs 31 woman and keep her for better or worse until you ride the big, black hearse.

  29. Hello everybody, I, like a lot of other people, have moved my family and myself to Tennessee in the last year or so. This is the 1st state I've lived in that actively supports the 2A and where so many like-minded people live. Honestly, I'm so grateful to be here. Since I'm relatively new in town and have no family or friends here, I haven't had a chance to find out where all the cool ranges are what kind of gun clubs may be available. I want to get connected to any communities that are firearms related. I love shooting and it's really my only hobby at the moment, so I'd like to find other people near me to connect with. My goal is to learn more and get better at shooting, and to just have fun. If anyone local would like to give me some insights or point me in the right direction PM me. Anyway, I look forward to meeting other people here.

  31. SAF and FPC are litigators. They fight in the courts where laws are challenged or upheld. These groups are quietly fighting hard for our rights. Most people never hear about them until they make a major case. They fly under the radar, but hit hard. GOA is what the NRA should be. They're fighting in Congress and state legislatures every day. Not as big as the NRA, but they're fighting hard for us. I, too, wish they were bigger and had more clout. TFA is our home grown pro-2nd organization. I fully support them and their efforts. The NRA has had serious problems for many years. But Wayne is gone and there are a few new reform members on the board now. However, the board is still full of the old guard sleeze bags who only care about themselves. Gonna have to see how this plays out. However, as pointed out, the NRA is the big kid on the block. Even people who have zero interest in firearms know who they are. Right now they serve as the anti's whipping boy and divert attention from the real pro-gun groups. They're our useful idiots. So let them be. I do renew my membership as needed because a loss of membership makes them look weak and the antis will try to capitalize on that. I pay my dues, but not one cent more. Just for the record, I am a member of all these groups and throw in a couple of extra bucks now and then to support the fight.

  32. +1 to TFA and FPC. I've supported GOA in the past and would do so again. I'm also a life member of NRA but don't send them any money. If these new reformers on the board can get things cleaned up, we'll see. NRA's main purpose right now is to be the big elephant in the room taking the heat from the anti-gunners while more effective and nimble groups like FPC and GOA fly under the radar get the work done.

  34. GOA spends most of its money on salaries and, last time I looked, there were lots of family members employed there. Little money actually goes to lobbying. FPC and SAF actually seem to do some things, and I give modestly to them. I've been an NRA Life Member since the 1970s and gave regularly to them until I realized that Wayne and his criminal cronies were looting the store. I am still a member, but I won't give another dime until all the old board members are gone and some new bylaws are put in place to prevent the type of corruption that Wayne established as a general operating principle. I always tell people to give to the state RKBA organization if they have one that's decent. TN and NC are good examples of states with effective freedom lobbies. Cheers, Whisper
