  1. My house was missed by maybe a quarter mile - we saw some clouds rotation but not the actual funnel. No damage here, but walk a couple hundred yards north and it changes instantly. Roads out are blocked by lines and trees. I spent a couple hours with a saw helping a buddy around the corner who was in the path and will be back over there when the sun comes up. Hope everyone else made it through safely!

  3. Hope all is well with our Maury, Cannon, Rutherford, and Williamson County members! Might make for a long night! I will be down in Columbia and Spring Hill tomorrow and will be helping out and patching roofs if anybody needs a roofer, feel free to give me a call or refer me. Ill also have my chainsaw in the truck to cut limbs off as well. Can schedule hail inspections at a later date if wanted, but just going to be trying to preserve residences in the morning and to eliminate leaks. Chance Barr Anchor Down Roofing 615-557-4488

  4. Well 2.5 hour drive home last night was fun. Wasn't able to get my Mother on the phone she had the tornado come by her house. It got spicy on my side of town. Friends of my Wife had trees down everywhere so we provided lunch. No tornado reported, but there is a path of distinction and the trees are twisted up.

  6. Howdy fellers and ladies. Just wanted to see, if like normal, my opinion is on the fringe or if I may be closer to reality now. my issue is with good, hard working folks donating money to help fight the crazies from restricting things that if we really ARE following the constitution , are said NOT to be infringed. First off is the long tenured NRA. ALWAYS happens. When no one is looking, someone always gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Never fails. Although we expect them to operate within reason, lobby for the needs of its members, and be an honest person with upstanding integrity. We know that when anyone is paid millions to do what they would do for free, they always want more. Don’t matter what it is. EVERY single time. Not that it has finally happened to the NRA but, it seems to be the first time there was wide spread knowledge about it. To me seems like ROT. Needs to be cut completely out. ALL of it and start over. Seems as crooked as Hillary’s email server or Orange mans accounting books. Can’t be fixed needs total destruction, lessons learned and rebuilt totally if at all relevant anymore. With the likes of GOA and FPC (who are actually doing the things NRA is supposed to) why is there a need for a corrupt NRA anymore? I have failed to renew my membership for this reason. My donations have started to go to GOA and FPC. Although it’s hard to completely entrust because of the corruption seen at the NRA. I’m guessing it will be there for a while. If the GOA was able to get so many things accomplished with small group of donators, can you imagine if they had equal backing as the NRA? I honestly don’t remember the last time the NRA was relevant but kept renewing my membership because that’s what we do in my family. I guess with all the crazies, window lickers, tree huggers, and other democrats, to me our rights have become more important to defend. I would rather it be defended by honest people. Just my rant!! Am I on the fringe again? Too much truth?

  8. Selling my 2018 (I think) Carbon Icon. I bought this after I had to quit hunting with a traditional bow & I only ever took it into the woods once. Fully set up at 70lb with a 29" draw (both are adjustable) with a Bee Stinger 12" stabilizer, Black Gold 3-pin sight, Smackdown Limbdriver Fallaway rest, FUSE 4 arrow quiver & Tru-Fire wrist release. Comes with 13 Carbon Axis 5mm arrows, footed with aluminum (yes, they're all Gay Pink ) & as many broadheads as I have (without digging around, I think there's 6 G5 Montec 125gr) Strings & cables have tons of life left. I'd be surprised if I've shot this 100 times since I bought it. It's literally setup & ready to hunt. Turns out that it wasn't the 'Traditional'part of traditional bowhunting I had the issue with. $600 for everything. Can meet within 1 hour of Tullahoma.

  10. Hey TGOers, Putting up this little beast for sale. It's a 50 watt but has 2 low power options for in-home/bedroom use. Comes with the stock footswitch. No case or box unfortunately. Currently new on Sweetwater for $800. My little mini-review for anyone interested: This thing screams. It sounds great at all power levels and has a great Marshall plexi tone. Takes pedals extremely well (has built in Fx loop), no electronics hum, not too heavy (great for gigging or band practice, but I have not travelled with this one). Stock speaker sounds nice and tight, pretty flat response (by my ear) and great percussive tone if you're into that. Cash strongly preferred but will consider venmo for established members. Ftf in or around Mt. Juliet. Not willing to ship at this time. Thanks, -V

  12. Let me first say that I’m simple. I’m not hyper intelligent. I went in the Army for god sakes! The only savior for me is that I didn’t go into the Marine Corps!! I don’t know a whole lot about salaries etc. I don’t think that 16% of income is bad for salary. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe there is more to it. Just don’t seem a crazy amount. I would still rather have people that would do the job for free but with bills as we all have, I would expect people that are doing “company” work 24/7 to be able to pay those bills. Not talking about NRA level yachts but a median level of salary. We all know it’s more than that! I would be interested in learning more about family connections as far as salaries in the GOA.

  13. GOA spends most of its money on salaries and, last time I looked, there were lots of family members employed there. Little money actually goes to lobbying. FPC and SAF actually seem to do some things, and I give modestly to them. I've been an NRA Life Member since the 1970s and gave regularly to them until I realized that Wayne and his criminal cronies were looting the store. I am still a member, but I won't give another dime until all the old board members are gone and some new bylaws are put in place to prevent the type of corruption that Wayne established as a general operating principle. I always tell people to give to the state RKBA organization if they have one that's decent. TN and NC are good examples of states with effective freedom lobbies. Cheers, Whisper

  14. This was my line of thought during the storm coverage last night. Not complaining about the coverage, just the commentary accompanying the news. The best part is "Send us your pics! Don't endanger yourself but send us your pics" Kinda sums up the social media generation. But no, they aren't going away, our leaders will continue to "protest" them from themselves. "protect" I think that was a Freudian slip on my part. Hope I die before I have to rely on these younguns.

  15. Been working today so haven't checked outside yet. We had some strong wind and very heavy rain. I've never seen a tornado in person, but I have heard one go over. Pretty certain that's what the sound was before and after the moment of silence. God bless those who lost. And it doesn't sound like a train,,,exactly.

  17. Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link. 18. I spent the morning down in Columbia on Cardinal Trail clearing debris and trees from driveways. Never even climbed on a roof and I'm ok with that. There's a time to prosper but right now is a time to help.

  20. Glock switches are becoming a serious problem. The Memphis Police officer who was recently killed, the shooter had one. There was also a recent story of a guy caught with 25 of them. More and more of them are turning up in Memphis. Local authorities are all bent and wringing hands over it. However, it just doesn't seem to dawn on them that possession of an unregistered machine gun is a federal offense with serious jail time. They don't turn these cases over to the feds. Idiots! But then most people don't understand that these guns are uncontrollable. They spray a full mag just somewhere in the general direction in only a couple of seconds. They're far more dangerous to bystanders than the actual target. So in typical political fashion, legislators want to ban the wrong thing.

  21. We had rough winds and rain, but Ill agree with the above comment about lightning. That was one if the most impressive electrical storms Ive seen in years. It was one continuous light show for 45 minutes in Roane County and sounded like a field battery was set up behind my house. I know we lost one big poplar to a strike and the barn took a hit that I havent been to check on yet.

  22. I'd never seen so much lightning as I saw for an hour or so last night. I'm just guestimating, but I'd say there was a lightning bolt every three seconds, and a lot of simultaneous bolts, too. No damage here that I know of so far, but it was pretty interesting to see how much energy mother nature expended last night.

  32. When farting around in the garage and coming across an old bottle of Tru-Oil, do not take the lid off and squeeze it while you are looking down the hole, lol. Even if you don’t hear or feel anything shaking the little brown bottle, there is a skin on top of the still liquid contents that wants to break free. The juice will squirt through the dried barrier when coaxed and give one (me) a Tru-Oil mask and ruin a perfectly good orange T-shirt. I ought to know better.

  33. I bought my first one in the early 2000s and it's been a downhill slide into addiction ever since. My single stacks really haven't seen the range very much since then. I've built several and still have a few frames and slide sets I need to do something with.
