Rifles costing 3 times as much as the M4/M16, and ammo costing 4 times as much as 5.56mm M855. And we're seeing ammo shortages now as woke military budgets get spent on climate and diversity. All to achieve better armor penetration and range. Basically, recreating performance of the .30-06 AP.3 points

So have you ever just been SO excited about a potential new hobby that you tell all your family? Being good people they want to help you pursue your new passion. They really don't know where to buy the stuff, but they try. Isn't that important part? Then you realize that the equipment for your other 42 hobbies pretty much prevents you from adding anything else. Or the wife says that anyway. About the time you realize (are told) this, work does it's best to suck out your soul by trippling the workload and reducing manpower. So another nail in the coffin of a new hobby. Then the final nail pounds in when you realize just how crazy it is having 2 kids in college. I mean, I know I am not the only one here that fits this situation. Well short story long. this leaves me holding some Dick's Sporting Goods gift cards that I am not going to let myself use. Yeah, I decided that all on my own. really..... I figure someone on here looking for golf, Kayak. Yeti. or other sports gear might find them more useful. I mean even if you don't like the store, the cash is already spent. Not like you are giving them anything. Maybe you already have a purchase in mind anyway. Stanley mugs anyone? So here is a chance to save some on that next sporty purchase if you read this far.. I have cards totaling $609.23. I would take $550 shipped for them. Or I can just provide you the card numbers to use online. These also work on the Public Lands website from my understanding. Might be open to some pretty limited partial trades, but like I said, space is part of the issue here. Question? PM me please. That way this thread doesn't get longer than it already is.2 points

This thing is 185 lbs. Huge. I can't find the date code. This thing will hurt you. It's considered a wepon in 23 countries. $350. Pick up in Columbia. I will help you load it or bring 2 men and a small boy.2 points

Blanton's Original - sealed bottle with bag/box. T stamped horse if you are trying to make a set. $110 Blanton's Gold - sealed bottle with bag/box. T stamped horse if you are trying to make a set. $260 I bought these because they were available but I'd rather drink normal Buffalo Trace or Eagle Rare, and will consider trades for either of those. Located in Columbia, can meet around the area. Must be 21+.2 points

Wilson Combat are the best in my experience for 45acp. Metalform and ActMag have done well for me. My bad experiences have come from Triple K and Chip McCormick if I load more than six rounds in them. A lot of other mags are Rebranded Checkmate magazines. Kimber, Springfield, Ruger, and Ed Brown are just Checkmates, and they are okay.2 points

I've been shooting 1911s for a lot of years. Even shot IDPA with one for about 12 years. Lots of companies make decent range mags. Metalform makes Colt's factory mags and they're cheaper straight from their website. I traded into a batch of Ed Brown mags a while back and they seem to be good. Mec-Gar is known to make good stuff. But the only mags I'll use for carry or competition is Wilson Combat. The toughest and most reliable 1911 magazines you can get. They ain't cheap, but they're worth it.2 points

How much do you want to pay? $40 mags do the exact same thing that $10 surplus ones do. All of mine are Chip McCormick Shooting Stars or Mec-Gar. Right in the sweet spot of price so as not to be cheap, and not to be overly extravagant. Mec-Gars are OEM for many, many manufacturers these days.2 points

I’ve got a few good knives, I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but here’s my 2 cents worth. I’ve got 2 Protech auto knives, and I like them, but overall, I think you can achieve similar quality for less money. I’ve got a Benchmade Adamas with an 3.82 inch blade, and it is probably my favorite pocket knife. It’s built like a tank, and you could probably chop wood with it, LOL. It opened in my pocket once though, and I’m kinda leery of carrying now so it’s on my go bag. I’ve got a Gerber 06 auto with a safety, and this is my EDC now. Not too heavy, holds an edge and opens with a snap. I like it. I think it’s 3.8 blade length. I also have a little Kershaw Launch 4 auto with 1.9 inch blade, which is also my EDC. I have 3 Gerber sheath knives, in addition to the folder above, and I love them. So yes, if you can afford them, I think they’re worth the price, especially if you look on here for someone selling one. But having said that, I’ve carried knives ever since I was a little boy, and you don’t have to spend Benchmade money on a good knife2 points

Both of my sons started out on Marlin bolt actions. One shot at a time teaches the importance of sight alignment and trigger pull. The Marlins are excellent rifles, tack driver accurate and not too expensive.1 point

I just carry based on weather. If I’m layered up I carry a full size Glock or Cz, if I’m only wearing a t-shirt with no jacket I carry an sig 365 macro. I prefer wearing a belt even without a pistol, so I don’t worry about being able to use a pocket holster1 point

My default mags are MecGar. I have some McCormick Shooting Stars as well, and they have been reliable. I've got a couple of Wilson mags, but don't see that they work any better than the MecGar. They are prettier, though!1 point

Buy a few different magazines and see which one your pistol likes best. 1911’s can be finicky and you never know what will work best and what won’t work. I’ve been lucky with the WC 47D’s as well. Maybe you can borrow a few different mags instead of buying them to try out?1 point

TRIPP stuff has worked really well for me. I have also fixed a bunch of problematic mags with their springs and followers for a very fair price1 point

Also Metalform makes a good quality magazine for a reasonable price- Is it .45acp or .9mm? Wilson Combat are also very good mags at a higher price-their 47D's are very good but in the $30.00 range-if in .45acp-1 point

I want to say Blackhawk modified the Serpa design years ago and the release no longer lines up your finger over the trigger. Hopefully they did. Years ago I saw a guy ND with a Serpa and he put a hole in his pants near his hip and a second much longer hole/rip near his shin. The bullet went into the ground an inch from his foot. He bought some new pants on the way home to hide his adventures from his wife.1 point
