  1. I despise the mere existence of the ATF and think almost everything they do is illegitimate, however I'll let my hypocrisy show a little on these points: It's none of the AFT's business if I buy a gun for someone as a gift, but I do want it to be illegal to make straw purchases. I don't think every felony should keep someone from buying a gun, but I do want it to be illegal for violent felons to buy guns. I don't think smoking pot should keep you from buying a gun when people who drink alcohol are free to do so. I believe in "shall not be infringed", but I do want it to be illegal for crazy people, stalkers, and people with restraining orders against them to buy guns. I don't think illegals are entitled to any inalienable rights under our Constitution.

  2. Have gone to a Glock 48 or Sig 365 because of age. 1911's and Gock 17's were too big and the all metal guns too heavy. Getting old kind of sucks.

  4. Not hard to believe at all. I have a lot of shooters but have more that are NIB collector guns.

  5. I am one who does not have a lot of trouble believing it. I just counted and I have 34 guns right now. About 2 thirds of them I bought new. I have shot 3 of them. I just like collecting them. I used to be a class 3 dealer back in the 80's and had dozens of machine guns. I played with so many full autos that I am no longer much interested in firing an ordinary firearm. On top of that there is no convenient place to shoot around here. Your situation may be different.

  6. When it comes to Form 4473 and the ATF in general, do not ever believe the ATF has any regard for the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution.

  7. I am referring to the 2ND only- If the 2ND does then why is the question of legal residency even on the 4473 questionnaire-

  14. Just a basic 15-22. I have several .22 rifles and this one is one of my favorites. Only selling because I bought a threaded barrel model to run a suppressor on. I've had this one for a few years and have had zero issues with it. I do have the box. $350 in Lebanon

  15. I've had both replaced and in spite of the pain and the damn pain pills it's the best thing I've done. I hurt and limped around for a long time. Now no pain. You must be serious about your rehab. Also, you really need to do some ongoing exercises. My daily routine includes a morning walk of at least an hour. Every day. The dog makes sure we do a pretty rapid pace. Best wishes!

  17. That’s the subject of debate being decided in the litigation. The 4473 questionnaire has been having a real rough go of it since Bruen. Question after question has been struck down by district courts. It’s there because the ATF decided it wanted it there, but should it be there? Many folks, myself included, have long been of the opinion that the entire premise of the 4473 is illegitimate. Piece by piece, it appears that the courts are finding that to be the case in a post Bruen world.

  19. UPDATE: I've had it back for a little over a week and have driven it quite a bit at various speeds and of course hitting plenty of the potholes on our roads now. No more shaking, so it seems like the diagnosis of the drag link was correct. Replacing the Aux battery was pretty easy. 4 bolts and some tugging on the passenger fender to remove it. I actually struggled getting the side marker light harness disconnected more than anything else . I did crack a few of the clips, but not so bad that they don't work, plus the 4 bolts are really doing the attaching. Next time I have an order for Quadratec I'll add in some of their $2 clips and replace them.

  25. Ok so first is a 1923 Winchester 94. The barrel is actually from an earlier 1894 and is octagonal. It has been cut down from 26” to 22”. This is a buddies but I did the cleanup on it. Full tear down and cleaning. Wood cleaned up and a new hand rubbed oil finish. The barrel blueing is great except for some spots near the muzzle where something got on the finish and caused rust. I cleaned it up the best I could w/o messing with the original finish. The receiver/parts, butt plate and forend cap got some cold blueing. turned out nice.

  26. This is our yellow lab/german shepherd mix. We got him from a shelter at the beginning of Covid as a puppy. Met his breeders by chance a couple years later. His sister is a TSA dog. He’s been perfect for us, loyal and great with my daughter and fierce protector of the house.

  27. Assuming that you're walking on a public road, you have every right to do so. YOU are not waking the man, his uncontrolled dogs are. I find it incredible that the police told you not to walk on the road. Whomever told you that just doesn't want to deal with the situation. You might consider wearing a body cam and getting the neighbor on video. You might also consider speaking with an attorney. What a rotten situation! Good luck. Added by edit: My initial assumption was that your neighbor was carrying a rifle as a way to intimidate you, which is illegal. But it's possible that he was carrying his rifle because he didn't know what was riling his dogs, not as a means to intimidate you. When I go outside to investigate a noise or something, I am always armed, though not always visibly.

  28. Whatever works for you is the best. I tell ya one thing , the Ruger LCP .380 makes it so easy to run to the parts store , grocery store , or dollar store. It fits right in the front pocket with a DeSantis pocket holster. I've been doing this for over 8 years. It's so much easier than belting-up an holstering-up a bigger gun. I will say that when we go to more populated places and pack the bigger tools.

  33. If you go to wranglerforum.com you'll find a lot of threads about death wobble. I've heard some say you can stop it with a beefier steering damper and some say it's worn links, joints, and bushings, like your track arm bushings and your control arm bushings. Regardless of which components are worn, the longer you wait to get it fixed, the more parts the death wobble starts destroying. It's a pretty violent shake and eventually you could have numerous parts to replace and they won't be able to tell what parts were wearing first. Here's the best video I've ever seen about death wobble: Last time I had something done to mine I went to True Blue Truck (used to be Essentially Offroad) halfway between M'boro and Smyrna. They did good work and were nice folks. https://truebluetruck.com/

  36. I have only been in the position a few of times and it was someone that was completely new to shooting or only long guns and wanted to get a hand gun. After basic safety and handling I have them to my house range or a public range with an assortment of .22 hand guns from revolvers to semis and let them shoot for awhile giving pointers as needed. If I take anything bigger I only let them shoot above .22 after they have shown some competence. If they can afford it I recommend buying a .22, either revolver or semi depending on what they like after a range day or so and shoot that for awhile before getting a larger caliber. If they can't afford an extra gun I let them shoot with me as often as they want using my .22s. Either way only after they are comfortable and show an interest in moving to something larger that I get an assortment of larger caliber for them to try and after they have shown a general interest try to recommend what they buy. 3 people I used this approach on stoped at a Ruger SR-22, one went on to a 9mm Ruger after shooting his SR-22 most of a Summer. I was able to borrow the Ruger 9mm from a friend for him and his wife to compare to my Glock and they preferred the Ruger, the extra weight made it a little less snappy for the wife. She ended up being slower but a better shot than her husband with the 9mm and he was better with the .22. I forgot I did help one fellow going from airguns to long guns and I used a similar method. I guess I use this approach because when I was ready to move up form .22 handguns, that is what was done for me to see what I might like best. I didn't need the basics since I had been shooting since I was a kid and learned all that before, plus a couple of NRA handgun courses.

  37. The reasons I steer people to a small revolver are It's easy to operate Unless it's a rimfire they are usually easy to empty the spent casings from It's generally point and pull the trigger in the event of an ammunition malfunction instead of a rack to clear you pull the trigger again and move on to the next round I seem to run into most of these people when I am at the range and it's usually too late they have already made a purchase Thankfully none of the inexperienced have shown up with a 500 Smith & Wesson yet Most of these people are looking to carry what they have so when I see them show up with an LCP which is really snappy and tiny or a Glock 19 another one without a safety and they have no training I wonder if they're going to shoot themselves before they get to use it for defense I'm not a fan of Glock in their safe action trigger for first-timers You never hear of anybody getting Smith & Wesson revolver leg or double single action Beretta leg but Glock leg is a big thing
