  1. SPM CMP US etched Winchester 52D with J.W. Fecker scope. I am fairly sure it is an 8X, but these weren't marked with a power. It isn't less than 8X. Scope is clear and cross hairs are really good. It shows some discoloration due to it's age but still in really nice shape (Fecker stopped producing scopes in the 50's). These are precursors to the Unertl's and were what the Unertl's were based off of. Stock was cleaned up and has been redone, but it still has some of it's original dings, etc. Metal has typical marks as almost all CMP guns do. Shoots good. I just got a couple more 52's so moving this one $Sold firm for rifle and scope. Will sell separate. Meet within a reasonable (30 min) distance of Chapel Hill.

  2. Let her see, handle and shoot as many different guns as possible. But in the end, let HER make the choice.

  6. 1995 reproduction of the iconic Black Phantom. Every young boy and some girls longed to have this in the 50's but they were very pricey for the time. My Father bought this and hung it in his shop where it still hangs. Very nostalgic for those of that Era. Look at what's available, you will see this is priced to sell. All proceeds go to Mom I will get some pictures for serious buyer. I don't have any at this time. Look them up, not cheap. Make me a fair offer. Optics, ammo, knives ???? No kids or 3 legged dogs.... i have both. Dirty, used but great shape.

  7. The goal was to build the lightest weight rifle I possibly could on a realistic budget (as cheap as I possibly could) I decided to go with a non gassed gun, making it a simple, straight pull bolt action. I just got finished making the carbon buffer tube/stock tonight & I believed she's done. Faxon pencil weight barrel, gas port blanked off. Wiland USA 10" carbon hand guard. TN Arms carbon lower. BCA side charge upper converted to left hand charge & milled extensively to reduce weight. NFA poly LPK, with 3lb Timney trigger ($68 on sale at Dvor) & bolt hold open omitted. Hogue grip, only $20 & just over 1oz! Home made carbon buffer tube with cheap, Amazon clamp on butt plate. No-Name ambi side charge bolt, cut off behind the firing pin (no need for the back half, since there's no buffer or spring) Charging handle from a Ruger PC Carbine, drilled & modified to fit. It ended up right at 3lb 11oz, bare weight. 4lb 8oz with the temporary old Tasco 4x. I have an ultralight SWFA 2.5-10x32 ordered that'll bring it down even further, to 4lb 4.5oz but I can't wait until then to try it out at the range!

  8. I have a 2006 Jeep Rubicon for sale. It is manual with Dana 44's. It has 105,000 miles on it. My wife's car died and I can't justify keeping her. It has a lift on it, but I am not sure on the exact height. It is a daily driver for me, but we need to replace her car. There is no rust on the frame. It has a few cosmetic blemishes, very minor. I will list everything that I have done to it in the last year. New Serpentine belt, new rear Rancho shocks. New ball joints in the front. New valve cover gasket. All new belts. Installed a new OPDA (crown). New spark plugs. New Tires, Cooper Discoverer ATR3 LTX 285's (less than a 1000 miles on them.). New multifunction switch. New door bushings. New drain plug. New water pump and clutch fan. New left rear axel bearing and seal. The check engine light comes and goes for the EVAP line (common among TJ's). The jeep runs perfectly. The fog lamps are not wired. They were on there from the previous owner. I am asking $13,500 for it. One caveat, I still have a lien on it so we will have to do the transaction at my bank to close out the loan. In the picture the sidesteps are removed now. When it rains hard there is a small drip that happens on the passengers side. I keep a tarp on it so this doesn't happen. I haven't worked hard to find where it drips from.

  20. That's crazy to do it yearly. I had to get sprayed 4 times, not counting the exposures in the fields. I do think people who carry should get it at least once to know how they react and understand you can still fight or shoot.

  21. Remember to treat the nurses well. They know where to stick things and if you "misbehave" you might wind up with Helga from the House of Pain. Don't ask me how I know......

  24. Might just have been my wifes' Dad. My father-in-law was the worst for this I've ever run across and taught me well. I've kept pieces of 2x everything! Pieces of plywood most people would burn! But best was the 2x10 ends cut from house rafters. We were cruising and found a job site with a full dumpster. Lord help me! We stopped and asked to go thru it for salvage. Got told to go ahead. We left with an 8' truck bed stacked and roped with all kinds of "scrap & treasure"! When he passed away, it took 4 of us to empty the shelves of his "Might need it someday" stash! LOL! I miss that man.

  25. A crack develops in the wall between Heaven and hell. God calls up satan and says, "the crack is on your side, so you have to pay to get it fixed". When he refuses, the Lord threatens to sue and the devil says, "you go ahead and try that, I have all the lawyers!"

  27. RE: the OP's question . . . Being on the phone and someone else picking up another phone in the house and listening in. Being chained to a cord while on the phone. Not knowing who was calling when the phone rang. Riding in the back window ledge of a car and waving at the cops. Sleeping in the rear floorboard with the warm transmission tunnel as a pillow. Having to call MOVIE PHONE or get a newspaper to know what the theater was showing. A bookshelf full of Encyclopedias . . . and learning about the important stuff in the "S" book 1940s and 50s cars and trucks had them. I know the Chevy 3100 Advanced Design trucks had them.
