Drove about 250 miles round trip to get this bad boy today and Im over the moon ecstatic. Thanks to @Patton for the tip on where I could find one. Ill be pairing this fighting revolver up with a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake in black alligator as my Sunday go to meeting rig. The Sourdough has the IWB straps on it, and should help make carrying a big chunk of steel much more comfortable.3 points

Oh, I’m sorry to hear this - and also thrilled to hear that they sent you to St. Thomas. Glad to hear you’re on the mend. Prayers for your coming days. As others have said - the rehab is hard - and makes all the difference.3 points

This is one area that had always struck me as odd, especially when the laws changed on knives and firearms carry. You can carry any knife you want, anyway you want to, same with a gun. OC spray and taser are socially and lawfully carried most places, but a stick, the most basic of weapons, cant be carried without an arbitrary piece of paper saying you know how to use it. I wish TN would just go ahead an open it up and allow any self defense to be carried by law abiding citizens, and make the prison term so sever for commiting a crime with a weapon that criminals actively avoided the state3 points

Sat. am Mar 2, I had a serious heart attack. Doctors found too many blockages to put stents. Did put 2. Went from Wilson Vanderbilt to St. Thomas. Nashville. Got home yesterday, doing rather well so far. Will have to do cardiac rehab of recovery . Never know what the next day will bring.2 points

I used to carry a boys axe handle in my truck. Easy sell since I cut trees on the side and usually had at least on saw in the bed. A 28" boys axe handle is one of the best clubs Ive handled2 points

AFIK, I can carry all that stuff with my Kentucky license. The laws are real different here. It's called a Concealed Deadly Weapons License. I don't have to pass a background check when I buy a gun either.2 points

Is this the thread you are referencing @Grayfox54? @Spots is right. Randy does an excellent job discussing the legality and intricacies of carrying an impact under current TN law. At least current as far as I know. I still carry a sap even thought the class we hosted was in 2006. No problems since. But it can very easily run into a lethal force option/situation. I'd recommend talking to Randy, even better taking a class with him. But that's just me.2 points

TCA 39-17-1307 Make carrying club misdemeanor. TCA 39-17-1308 is the defenses which list what has been already mentioned. I carried one for several years only really used it to get something that fell under a patrol car or break windows. I always just went to hard hand/ strikes same level. Carrying oc spray doesn't require any cert if I recall and that will make most people not having a mental issue or drug issue eyes clamp down and they typically aren't as aggressive physically anymore.2 points

You have to take a baton class and carry a certification card from the class with you. My pops used to carry a sap with an egg shaped lead weight in it but he quit years ago2 points

Excellent condition, my wife's S&W 642 with Crimson Trace grips and 80 hand-loaded rounds of 110gr Hornady XTP bullets at +P pressure: $450 firm I bought this for my wife around 2008, and she has never carried it - nor has she shot it very much. A good guess would be under 300 rounds through it from my kids and myself. I'm pretty sure the original box is somewhere in the attic. I should also have the original grips in the box as well. Sale is limited to established members only, so no low post counts. Fraudsters need not try! I'm willing to meet for transaction at either Murfreesboro's, or Lebanon's, police station parking lot if'n ya don't want ta come to my house. PM me if interested. I'll answer any questions that I can, but there isn't much of a history with this one.1 point

I've come up with a written script that I've developed from studying SD law, and learning from the intelligence and knowledge of Massad Ayoob and Andrew Branca, and my own SD attorney. This is on the homepage of my phone, a printed copy around my carry permit, and a copy over my car visor. I'm presenting this here so you can have a such a script ready should it ever be necessary. Is it perfect? Probably not. Is it better than what you now have on your phone or in your wallet? Probably yes. If I make revisions (and I probably will as I gain more knowledge) they will be in this original post, not elsewhere in this thread. I hope you find this of some value. ___ Self-Defense Action - The Aftermath The 5 Elements of a Justified SD - Innocence, Imminence, Proportionality, Avoidance, and Reasonableness. FIRST - Call police. Give the address of where you are. Explain there's been a shooting. Medical needed for the attacker. Describe yourself as the victim. Give your description. Give a description of the attacker. Give the address again. Request medical for yourself. Stick to these facts only. Don't answer any questions from the dispatcher that do not strictly relate to the above. 1. When the police arrive, establish an active dynamic. Very briefly describe what happened to cause the shooting. "I was attacked, threatened, afraid of the three men running towards me while yelling," etc. 2. Indicate that you are the victim. "I'm the victim of an assault, and I will testify.” 3. Point out any evidence. Spent cases, dropped firearms, any edged or club-type weapons, cars, tire tracks, bullet holes anywhere, etc. 4. Point out witnesses, home security cameras, business security cameras, street light cameras, etc. 5. Now say you want to talk to an attorney. Request an attorney. Shut up until you talk to an attorney. Do not say you will meet with them after you've spoken to your attorney. Let your attorney do the talking for you. 6. Contact an attorney ASAP. If you have a Self-Defense policy, contact them ASAP. Say nothing about the SD incident to anyone—not the police, medical attendants, or relatives. Shut up. Only talk with your attorney. NEVER SPEAK TO THE MEDIA! DO NOT LIE! -- Any lie you tell will destroy your credibility. It's fine to say "I Don't Know!" DO NOT ASSUME! -- State the facts only. If asked "How many shots did you fire?" The correct answer is "I Don't Know!" If you say you shot 5 times but there are six holes in the attacker, you will be nailed. The majority of gun shooters can't tell you how many rounds they fired at the range. Do you think you have the wherewithal to count the rounds during an SD action? Also, you are not a mindreader. Don't presume to know what is in the attacker's mind. Report the facts, not what you assume is true. Your job as a SD actor is to stop the behavior, not render a diagnosis of the attacker's state of mind. Your assumptions of facts not in evidence can also drive nails into the coffin the prosecutor may wish to put you in.1 point

Glad you are improving and doing PT. I had a triple back in July of last year. They caught mine before I had a heart attack. The PT was a rough 36 sessions but definitely was a big help on my way back to recovery so stick to it. To many in the group I was in had to drop out because of work necessities.1 point

Saw Dune part 2 with the wife last night. It’s a visually stunning film. If you don’t have connection to the original work, then I’m sure it will be quite enjoyable. If you are a long time fan of the books, written by Frank Herbert, then there is a good chance, that like me, this will fall significantly short of expectation. The more I think about particular changes the madder I get about it. Not a fan.1 point

My local recycler won’t take ammunition brass either. I usually save up a bucket or two and give them to a guy I know that melts them into ingots. I then recycle it and split the cash with him.1 point

I love a 45 acp revolver. I will save you all the long, boring story. Frankly, I love big bore revolvers, and the shorter the barrel the better. My newest is a circa 1983 24-3 Lee Horton 44Spl. It came from the same collection as Spot’s new 22 Thunder Ranch.1 point

When I went off to college many, many years ago, my Dad gave me a this big A$$ wrench, about 18" long and probably for about a 2" nut that was extra thick like something they made pre WW-1 to work on a steam engine and weighed about 4 lbs all nicely painted. I carried it under the drivers seat till after graduations but never needed it. He figured it was legal, but didn't fit anything on the car, so not sure it would hold up in court. Still have it but it just sits in my shop now.1 point

I remember reading one time about a case in Tennessee where someone used to carry a golf club on walks for protection. Can’t remember all the details of the cas neut seems like he used it and admitted to carrying for self defense, and was charged for carrying a weapon. In another case it was a baseball bat in a car or truck that was used, and someone said if you carry a ball bat in your truck, make sure you also carry a glove and ball, LOL. It’s sad kinda that less lethal isn’t a legal option before firearms use.1 point

I don’t want to beat them up too much because it was a nice place the one time I went, 2a people that moved here from commie land. Waited around about 15 minutes for OE gen 4 recoil springs no one could find, g26 and g23. They kept trying to sell me a $60 buck tungsten. confirmed I didn’t need the fancy thing. I couldn’t figure out if I looked rich or limp wristed. Left empty handed. I’ve purchased from them when they were in CA, good experience, but doubt I’d stop in even though I drive by EHP / Briley exit a lot. just one of those ymmv experiences1 point

Yes, they seem like pretty nice people there. I had a similar experience with them. Took in my G30 that was acting up. Getting a few FTE issues. Picked it up the next day. They put in a new extractor and cleaned the pistol. works great now.1 point
