  2. As my handle suggests, I am pretty passionate about increasing school security. As we all know however, often times such conversations have a tendency to fall on deaf ears. There are however, ways to make small positive steps forward. Earlier this year I got a Grant for Stop The Bleed Training Kits so I can teach school personnel how to handle injuries that require more than a band aid. Well, the kits came in today, and I am Super Pumped!

  3. The sheaths have been wet molded to that specific knife. Care much be taken when installing/removing the knife as to not cut/damage the leather. I've removed and installed the knives at least 15 times so I know it can be done. The sheath and knife come as package for $155 each. Additionally, knives should never be stored in leather sheaths for extended periods as leather holds moisture and will rust carbon steel knives and may even discolor/stain SS knives. Let's face it SS means "stain less" and not "stain proof". 4.2 MM thick Bohler SS with a Rockwell hardness of 59-60. Each knife is 8 3/4" long with a blade of 4". N690 steel is cobalt-enriched stainless steel manufactured by Bohler, an Austria steel company. This steel is high in carbon and chromium elements with the addition of cobalt for consistency. N690 steel alloy contains high amounts of chromium making it stainless steel. It also has fine grain composition that enables the blade steel to remain sharp for a long time even after exposure to prolonged tough applications. Bohler N690 steel’s ability to withstand stress is a favorite choice for knife makers. It is used to make outdoor knives including, tactical, camping, hunting, and bushcraft knives. 1. 6. I didn't get sued, but the guy lived due to our actions. He should not have. He died in the ambulance on the way to life flight and died in the helicopter, but they got him back. His parents left a message crying and thanking us. We bounced without giving our name, but someone tracked us down.

  7. I have a pseudo-trauma kit in each of our vehicles. I've heard people say that they're afraid of being sued for rendering care to an injured person, but the Good Samaritan laws require someone who's trained to stop and render aid, and they cannot be sued for doing so. In other words, you can't make a law requiring trained personnel to stop and render aid under crappy circumstances, and allow them to be sued for it. If they catch you just driving by then you can be sued for not rendering aid. That's a good reason NOT to get specialty plates indicating your profession...if you don't want to stop, that is.

  9. More downsizing. Excellent condition 6" 648-2. I thought I had the box, but apparently not. Ahrends cocobolo grips. You can't get them anymore and they are very expensive to buy them now. Most I see are in the $250 range I am pretty sure I have the original Hogue's here that I will include if I can find them. I won't separate the Ahrends grips from the pistol. $1000. Meet within a reasonable distance (30 min) of Chapel Hill.

  12. Purchased to basically experiment with a few things. It's really neat but I haven't used it much. It's nearly LNIB. I'll attempt to get some photos up sometime soon but it looks and works great. Meta Quest 2 These can be used either standalone (without a pc) or in conjunction with a PC depending on your use case. There are really many different ways you can use these and it is really actually quite amazing what you can get at this price point.

  13. Been looking for good . 357 carry revolver and was curious about the K6S or a King Cobra. Willis68 had both and I got to handle them both and both are fantastic. The K6S was just so light, thin, slim, and modern feeling. At the same time, it felt solid and tight. I really liked the looks of the 2" barrel but really liked the increased ballistics of the 3". I got to say this is the most carriable 3" revolver I've ever held. Excited to get it to the range.

  14. TN’s Good Samaritan Laws are pretty good. You have to be able to articulate why the treatment given was realistically within your capabilities however. Taking a basic first aid course wouldn’t cover open thoracotomies, for example

  17. If this has already been covered I apologize. Saw this little gem pop up at the LGS and thought it would make a dandy pocket carry piece. Its a 442 with VZ grips, big dot sights, and no lock, coming in at 16 oz unloaded. They have a 642 and 442 as well as a 6 shot .32 H&R version. For a revolver guy or a BUG setup these seem to fit the bill. Ill report back with a range report as soon as I get over there to pick it up out of layaway. https://www.guns.com/news/2024/02/06/meet-the-new-smith-wesson-ultimate-carry-j-frame-in-32-h-and-r-mag-and-38-spl

  21. Big K, not hard to believe. most investigators and insurance companies will look at your every action for the past few months. This is not the first time I have heard about USCCA denning coverage to their members. I am sure the teacher who did you Concealed Carry permit training told you about self-defense laws. Take a class, Noting wrong with training oneself. I do that every time I go to my firing range. Prosecutor could say I went to my range and practiced before I shot someone but wouldn't necessarily make it so. I try to go to my rang on a regular basis. Educate yourself all I am saying. I don't know about the lady your speaking of because we don't have all the facts, so it is hard to make a judgment in her case. I just hope and pray I never need to use S D for me or mine.

  23. Careful here! In Kayla Giles case the prosecution and USCCA looked at her research history on the internet about her local laws and used that against her to claim she that proved she planned her shooting. Hard to believe, huh?

  24. IANAL, but my understanding is that it does, but you can't enforce it on lay-people like you can an EMT, paramedic, nurse, doctor, and such. I haven't practiced for 24-years, but that's how I was trained.

  27. For sale is my new/unfired JTS M12AR 12-Gauge shotgun with 2 x 5 & 2 x 10 rnd magazines, Surefire ProTac 350W light, and 3 boxes of 00-Buck cartridges in full and reduced power: $250. I bought this from PSA on one of their sales for $199.99, (MSRP is $399.99), on a pure impulse buy, and slapped the Surefire light on it for my wife to use as an "Alamo" defensive position in the bedroom. Unfortunately, my wife's T-rex arms, (she's 5' tall) make it impossible for her to shoulder and fire it. I do not hunt, and I have an MPX for home defense, so I have no need for it. Add the cost of the light, 10-rnd magazines, and shotgun shells costs and you'll see this is a good deal for a technically "used" weapon. Sale is limited to established members only, so no low post counts. Fraudsters need not try! I'm willing to meet for transaction at either Murfreesboro's, or Lebanon's, police station parking lot if'n ya don't want ta come to my house.

  34. I guess I have faith in revolvers because every crisis in my life was successfully handled by a handgun. Starting form a very early age when my father contracted tuberculosis then purchased a pre-model 10 for my mother to protect us with. He was sent to a sanatorium in Ashville N Carolina in 1949/50. Shortly after he was taken away from us, mother had to use it to stop a drunk who came to our home and made an attempt to get in our house. No locks on the door, but a case knife slid in the door frame to keep unwanted visitors out. Had several more incidences where a revolver was used successfully to protect me. Last time was about 8 years back I had 3 25ish guys try to accost me while walking to my mailbox and I had a revolver in my pocket. The availability and willingness to use it saved me from a beating, once again, in my own front yard. I have faith in revolvers from experience. May not work next time, no naivety here, if it happens, but faith in God will take care of the rest. I am sure plenty here have had similar experiences in our long lives. Edited to add; Smitty, use your revolver with confidence. They will do the job for individual citizens. Just familiarize yourself to us it well.

  35. I am a revolver guy. Like yours a bunch, Smith. I recently purchased a new 686 + from outpost in the Boro. It is stainless and IS a 7 shot with a 3" brl also. My EDC is a 7 shot Taurus 617 38/357 2" brl which I carry Corbon DPX 357 ammo in. The 686 is a little large for pocket carry. I pocket carry the Taurus when I am out of bed. I have an alloy frame 617 which is much lighter 7 shot, but only in 38 Spl. If I feel a need for more ammo on board, I carry a S W MP 9C 9MM IWB 15 shot and 4" brl or a Ruger Max 9 13 shot in my pocket. I do not feel under gunned with the 7 round revolver and I also carry one reload, always, in a strip in my back pocket. This is my current carry firearms and has been for 4 years. Practice with all 3, but not on the same days. I always concentrate on one at a time. "Smitty", hope you enjoy your new revolver. Looks fine guy!

  39. Isn't that just amazing! You buy a small car for a reason. Then try to load it like it's big truck! Some people just don't understand the concept of "volume" in a smaller space. Dangerous commet coming. My wife is one of those. She cannot judge the size of anything! No jokes please. She married me anyway,
