“Not bad thinking for an agnostic...” What does that even mean? Politics has no place in meddling with science just as religion has no business in politics.4 points

Thanks for the replies and info. S I L will get it today. His 31 Y O son, who has "Downs Syndrome", wanted his mother to wrap the pistol box in pink paper. She did. His dad picks at Cody all the time. A little payback never hurts. His whole family will be here at 1:00 for lunch. BBQ and Fried Chicken, cheezie Mack n cheese, baked beans, salad ranch dressing, Coconut cream pie and B Day Cake, you know, Man food guys. My birthday today also, 76 today. Just never figured I would be here for this day. I am blessed by God. Bible says man's normal allotted days, baring accident or health, are three score and 10 (70 Years). Or if blessed four score (80 Y O). I AM TRAVELING BLESSED TIME GUYS. Jesus Christ is the way. (John 3:16-17) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Life is good for me today. I have accomplished the things necessary to put myself into the position to be able to take advantage of God's saving grace, through faith, in His Son Jesus. Put simply, I am on the way to heaven, today. Can't wait to see Son In Laws face getting a 12" square Pink Box that he has no Idea what is in it. We goanna have a big laugh, together!3 points

Check out the Cylee Wolf2-G here: https://www.cyeleeoptics.com/products/cyelee-wolf2-g-astigmatism-relief-green-circle-dot-sight-for-rmr-footprint-3moa-dot-and-64moa-ring-reticle?_pos=1&_fid=ec33b1581&_ss=c It's for people with astigmatism, is very sharp for me and my wife, has features found in more expensive sights, (like shake-awake), and has great reviews. Battery loads from the top so no removing the sight to change a battery. For around $127 it can't be easily beaten. As far as the OP question, I switched to green because the red washes out when the sun is remotely low. I noticed it when I would shoot out back while facing east in the late mornings. The green doesn't even wash out when looking at foliage with it.2 points

Aero Precision AR10 Build 308: This is a mostly Aero precision build, it has an Aero complete upper (all Aero including BCG, CH) 16" barrel. The lower is an 80% lower that I finished. Aero LPK and magpul furniture. It has a primary arms 3x ACSS prism optic on it. Asking $1000 for everything including the optic. Would sell just the rifle for $800. Located in Crossville, willing to meet within a reasonable distance. Must had TN ID and legally be allowed to own.1 point

I always get a laugh when I go to Costco and watch someone trying to get their newly purchased 65" TV into their Toyota Camry . . .1 point

Was my 1st carry with the dept back in early 80s. Excellent gun. Sold it to a kid out of the academy when we went to semi-auto. GLWS1 point

So far I'm digging Shogun. It's slow but considering the original, that's no surprise.1 point

I’m not the OP but it wouldn’t fit. The gen1-4 sub compact and compact can share barrels but gen 1-4 full size use a different sized locking block. Gen 5 made them all the same, that’s why gen 5 full size barrels won’t fit gen 1-4 full size1 point

Two reasons for my comment: 1. "The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." (Psalm 14:1). Sagan was an admitted agnostic. Just as a broken clock is right twice a day, he makes here unusually bright statements. 2. "...For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God." (Romans 13:1). Politicians have either supported or thwarted religious practices from the beginning of history. They are accountable for their leadership, good or bad, before the One who sets them in positions of power, just as we who pay their salaries judge them at election time. The difference is that God's ultimate vote counts for eternity.1 point

This is one beautiful Henry 45-70. Side-gate or tube load, large loop gives plenty of room for shooting gloves. Rubber butt pad softens the recoil. Comes in the box with factory paperwork. Quality pics won’t upload for me. Text for more pics and close up video. Must be legal to own a long gun. Text is fastest. 615-504-1491. It’s for sale $10001 point

Most .22LR ammo, especially bulk target ammo, is notoriously dirty. Nonetheless, my Ruger Mark II is VERY forgiving and can go 5 or 6 trips to the range w/out needing to clean the firing pin channel. My Mark IV 22/45 LITE is considerably more finicky. I can barely get a 333 rd box of cheap target rounds through it w/out needing to clean it. Luckily it's really easy to disassemble. My advice would be to order replacement springs from Ruger now, so you'll be ready in case a good cleaning doesn't fix the light strikes. I'd be really surprised if that doctored up gun doesn't have some springs that are too light. It's been my experience that lightened springs wear out way faster.1 point

If you do buy one make sure you have a shed/shop /carport to park it out of the weather.I hate to see any kind of tractors or any kind of equipment sit out in the rain and sun. That will ruin tires and hydraulic hoses, seats fast. I try to kept most of my implements in the dry , but can’t store them all.1 point

Much like a vehicle you're better off spending more money on one where you can get a record of it's history. There are several equipment auctions in TN or at least this part of the county several times a year and some will provide background. Many times to the original owner. As far as what to look in a private sale look for the things that are "wearable" items. Tires or tracks, hydraulics, joystick controls if it has them, engine hours of course, if tracked look at replacing them and the idlers as if the machine your buying needs them immediately. Many neglect the tracks and allow them to bake in the sun and while they look ok sitting still working it in the dirt is a different story. My brother searched for a long time and we looked at enough machines to make your head spin before he said F it and bought new. He got what he wanted down to the extra attachments but he's also sending them a nice check every month. Maintenance cost can really run up there if you are using it as a "hobby" and have nothing to depreciate or write off. Another item I encounter on the farm and commercial mowing routinely is when something goes from being worked day to day to sitting 1/2 the time is parts that leak simply from sitting. Same as valves that get stuck in your old hot rod from not running it enough it can turn into a PITA real quick if you need it to perform a task at the drop of a hat. I just love needing to bale hay, hays cut, tedded, and dry on the ground, and the baler is having a moment and you spend 2 days repairing it only to have it rain and have to start over lol.1 point

I’d start with a solid cleaning. No penalty for total disassembly and proper lubrication of the entire thing.1 point

I will only have one container of powder on my bench at a time. The rest is in a cabinet out of sight and out of reach. I NEVER leave powder in the powder measure. Quick as I’m finished, back in the container and to the cabinet it goes. I just don’t have the memory to do otherwise.1 point

Want to make some scratch? Cheese? Coin? Loot? Dollar bills? Ever fancy yourself a bounty hunter? :) Websites like TGO need advertisers to stay afloat, let alone grow bigger and better and make it possible to do cooler things. To date we've been fortunate -- blessed even -- to have our advertisers find us. We've never had to go hunting for them, and honestly I've never really wanted to. I just don't like selling. I'm not a "sales guy" and I hate cold-calling. But recently I had a member approach me with a prospective advertiser and asked if I'd hook them up. So I did. And I also felt like I owed that member something in return... so I did something for that person too. Which brought to mind an idea: Pretty much everyone here has their list of favorite shops to do business with. But how many of those favorite shops support your favorite local forum by advertising with us? All of them? Some of them? None of them? Could you maybe help us by convincing them to sign on with us? Because if you can, and they tell me that YOU are the reason they signed on as an advertiser, I'll gladly kick a commission payment your way. :) So, what's the motivation? I'll make no bones about this: I'd like to eventually quit working for the man Monday - Friday and make TGO something of a full time job. I'd love nothing more than to work on new features, new content, videos, blogs, reviews, etc. all for the TGO community. But in order for that to happen, we need more advertisers and I'd be glad to share some of our increased success with anyone who helps get us there. If you are instrumental in helping bring a new advertiser on board, I owe you a debt of gratitude and I'd like to put some money back in your pocket to say thanks. Let's talk! For details, contact me privately.1 point

I would like to amend this by also stating that as far as I am concerned, this also applies to non-profit 503{c}{3} organizations such as Project Appleseed. A legitimate non-profit 503{c}{3} organization may post announcements about any of their classes or courses without being a Vendor. Thanks.1 point

I SHOULD like revolvers. I have every reason TO like them. Reliability and accuracy alone speak for themselves. Plus, what's cooler than a .357 really? See, now I want one. Can someone please convince my wife?0 points
