  4. So I was a Pall bearer for my buddy on Thursday. Sad affair. 6 hours later we got the call that a family member was found unconscious in a parking lot. Another alcoholic. He passed away at 3am this morning. Please please please.... If you struggle with alcohol...seek help. Don't be afraid to admit it and talk about it. Pray about it most importantly. It won't be an easy road, but there is a road to recovery. If you have loved ones who struggle, confront it. They may be angry with you, but what's worse, their disapproval or their early burial? Someone out there needs you/them. A wife, a child, a friend. It doesn't just ruin your life, it ruins theirs. Please get help. Hell, ping me privately. I will talk to anyone.

  5. More downsizing. Excellent condition 6" 648-2. I thought I had the box, but apparently not. Ahrends cocobolo grips. You can't get them anymore and they are very expensive to buy them now. Most I see are in the $250 range I am pretty sure I have the original Hogue's here that I will include if I can find them. I won't separate the Ahrends grips from the pistol. $1000. Meet within a reasonable distance (30 min) of Chapel Hill.

  8. SIG ROMEO 2 3 MOA dot This optic comes with 2 separate steel shrouds & offers 3 different configurations. Bought 2 of these & only ended up needing one. I run it primarily with the closed emitter shroud on a SIG X Ten & it's awesome. They're pricey but, I think, well worth it. Bought this new for $700. Would take $500 cash or I'd be willing to trade for 9mm range ammo or do a partial trade for any of the following: 3" S&W 686 Glock 47 CZ P10C optic ready I'm in Manchester but travel through Murfreesboro & Nashville several times a week. Thanks fellas.

  9. I purchased several silencers around the same time. I wanted dedicated silencers for certain pistols. No reason other than not have to swap out during range sessions. I have the Silencerco Omega 9K & 45K, Osprey 9, Octane 2.0 9mm, Octane 45, Dead Air Mask 22, Surefire SOCOM 300 SPS and Surefire SOCOM 556 Mini2. If I were purchasing today, I’d probably invest in a top shelf multi-caliber can.

  14. For sale is a minty S&W Model 325 Thunder Ranch revolver. It's a 45 ACP revolver. Pictures show the condition. Comes with several moon clips along with the appropriate tools to make stuffing/unstuffing the clips easy. $1200 in the Mt. Juliet area. Prefer a TN HCP holder for obvious reasons.

  15. Same song, different verse.... picked this one up a while back with plans on tricking it out but the G10 grips were as far as I got. I bought it used and there are a couple of areas with slight holster wear, the takedown stop and the very front of the slide and frame on the thumb side (2nd pic). I did a quick field strip and cleaning when I bought it and was surprised at how clean it was internally. My guess it that it was shot very little by the previous owner, just my estimate though FWIW. It has night sites and two 15 round mags. $550, no trades unless you have a 75 in matte stainless you want to get rid of...

  17. I finally shot my 1970 Marlin 1895 in 45-70. It didn’t kick quite as hard as I was expecting it to. I also shot the 1893 in 38-55. I like that rifle.

  28. Sorry to hear this Stan and the rest that have similar stories. I'm 71 and grew up in a culture that everyone drank and smoked. And then one day after even doctors said smoking was good for you. Look at some of the old cigarette ads. The cars all had cigarette lighters and ash trays. And yes it really is hard to tell a kid not to do drugs as you sit there with a beer or mixed drink in your hands. I used to be a drunk, the difference in a drunk and an alcoholic is alcoholics go to meetings. I haven't drank in about 20 years or smoked in 25-30 years. Both of these substances are hard to break. Not everyone can be a social drinker. Alcohol has it's place as a cough medicine but that is about all I can see it is good for.

  33. Alcohol is just another drug that happens to be legal. Kids are told “never do drugs” by the same people who give them their first drink. Its potential for addiction and destructiveness should be respected as much as any other drug, but isn’t.
