Toby Keith. That name brings to mind all his big hits...some humerous, some patriotic, but all sang with emotion and sincerity. I believe Toby Keith put out his love for this country and it's military right out front in everything he did. I may not have agreed with all of his political views, but that's not important. Toby loved this nation. That was never in doubt. I, along with so many others, will miss him. Rest in peace Toby. You deserve it.5 points

I see where you're coming from for sure, but we had to resort to looking outside our geographic area to find qualified candidates and we couldn't hire them based on Nashville wages and we had to fill the position...capitalism in perfect form.2 points

I seen it on the local news this morning. He fought a hard battle for sure. Brings things into perspective, especially for me. I've been battling stage 4 Colon, and Liver cancer for close to three years, and it's been tough. May he finally rest in peace without pain.2 points

These enabled my grad school research. The data files I generated were too big for floppies and I had no other way to transfer the data from the DAQ to a computer I could analyze the data on.1 point

PM me, I used to collect Case Knives from the 20's-40's-60's and 70's. I sold all mine a long time ago to a couple of collectors. I sold three stag handled from the 20's and eight stag handled from the 40's that were in mint shape, and was able to put the down-payment on our house with just those. Let me know what you have and I'll try and help you possibly figure out what you have.1 point

I second this. Brian was the first TGO member I met. Bought a pistol from me (what brought me to the TGO). He was a great first impression of the group.1 point

Thanks for pointing that out. A bit odd that they did not change any of the markings on the outside of the optic. Post has been updated.1 point

That can actually create major issues due to wage and reporting laws in different states - so that's probably the reason they want to know. But I agree - companies should pay for the job being done and if they're hiring remotely should pay the same regardless.1 point

Toby and I have had many beers in the garage on summer days and evenings...well, actually, I have had many beers while Toby's music played on the garage stereo. The whole valley gets to hear "Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue" whenever it comes on. Fortunately, the folks in this valley are right-minded. Rest in Peace Toby.1 point

When I got older I thought that you really had to be a mean kin to get a spanking from your Grandmother. My Mother on a few occasions took me from church and spanked me then we returned to church with tears running down my cheeks1 point

Or the thought of going to a retail location to stand in line to buy those paper tickets including going hours early if it was a high demand show. To explain it to the young folk. "Apple just launched the latest iPhone and each apple store only gets 100 each of them."1 point

This is the only facially valid issue up for consideration this session. It haws to be passed in both the House and Senate this year and then again next year to be on the ballot in 2026, as a Constitutional Amendment. It is placed on Constitutional Amendment calendar in the House finance committee agenda (no date set yet). John Stevens, the agreed upon Senate sponsor was wanting to wait till it was passed fully in the House before "picking it up" to run through the committee system in the Senate which would have resulted in it be dead this year, mandating we wait till 2030 to get it on the ballot. I engaged a number of his constituents and got them to help me convince him that it was necessary to run the resolution concurrent with the House version, it has been interesting. I contacted the Sec. of State and the Clerks of both chambers to validate the Constitutionality of running it at the same time and was afforded the ruling that it was. We will see what happens. Anyone interested in taking back the rights enumerated in our 1796 Declaration of Rights needs to contact their Senators and insist they sign on as cosponsors and push for this resolution to be put on the ballot in '26.1 point

That is it. The original 1796 Constitution said " That the free men of this State have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defence." as our 2nd Amendment analogue. The new wording is what we need and I don't care what others may think, it is historically correct and what we as Tennesseans deserve.1 point
