The long slow walk out to the tree to pick your own switch you were about be get beat with. And it being OK for your parents tell others about it because that was how everyone rolled back then.9 points

My step brother and I got into a scuffle one day and my step dad sent us out to get 2 short peach tree limbs and one long one. He said, "y'all wanna fight, get after it until I say stop." The long one was for him when we just stood there not wanting to hit each other, he used it for motivation.3 points

Take a look at Belt Mountain basepins. Most likely, your crosspin n pin notch has been battered a bit, causing the base pin to back out. I've used a bunch of the belt mountain pins in my hard kicking Blackhawks. They are inexpensive and work like a charm. They use a set screw to hold the pin in. Ya simply can't beat em... leroy...2 points

I just got in my crawlspace today and did some work. Which reminds me, I should thank the TGO'ers who gave me some ideas on how to fix it... more in another thread2 points

You fellas talking about getting your ticket has motivated me to get my HF rig set up again. I've been in this house for about four years now, and haven't been on the air except a little 2-meter. I've had an antenna in the box for a couple of years, but today I ordered some brackets and coax and will get it up. Thanks, guys!2 points

FYI since starting this post I have been studying for the HAM radio license. There are plenty of online practice tests, that uses the actual test questions. I’m now consistently getting 85 to 95%, only need 75% to pass. So I should be good to go. I’m going to find a test in a couple of weeks (busy next week). So not hard, not hard at all. Just a few hours of practice and you should be good to go.2 points

I have boxes of these full of slides from when I taught homicide / death investigation courses. Slides aren't suitable for family gatherings though.1 point

Yeah I put 2 mags through it and had nothing but issues. Instead of figuring out the root cause, I bought the TX22 Comp and have had zero issues with it so the P322 just sits in storage.1 point

I'm about to be 45, so our ages aren't close, but this kinda thing gives me pause because we have at least one case of alzheimers in the family. If you're anything like me, if any medication has a side effect, i'm sure to experience it. I think the key for a lot of folks in my family has been to keep moving. It's very obvious the difference between folks in their 70s who are "out and about" vs the ones who sit most of their day. While not direct family (and genetics also play a role) my father-in-law starts each morning with a few sit ups and pushups. I won't say that they're text book, but the guy is 72 and still very spry. He also walks their dog 4-5 times a day. He keeps moving I know what you're thinking, what's that got to do with memory? but being engaged in something like a hobby, taking a walk, reading a book etc. forces you to think on your feet. Obviously you have to limit that to what you can do in your present condition, but just getting out of the house and engaging with others may help that. I fully plan to be that guy at the local Hardees drinking coffee and having a biscuit once I retire (Lord willing). If you don't use it, you lose it.. my wife reminds me of that all the time.1 point

Keeping with the TV theme. When your console TV (which was a piece of furniture nobody wanted to do away with) died, so you put a TV on your TV.1 point

Who remembers clackers. My aunt had a pair of blue glass clackers. I loved playing with them over at her house in the mid 70's.1 point
