My youngest was bored - so I told him he could go clear all of our elderly neighbors cars. He was out for a couple of hours with the leaf blower and a brush. They tried to pay him but he wouldn’t let them. regardless, our kitchen had filled up with the treats they made him. Good trade in his eyes.16 points

I had to drive a complete strangers car earlier. Older woman was visibly shaking trying to make it down my hill. I got in and got her turned around. She wanted me to drive her KIA down the hill but I vetoed that idea. This has been a crazy week.4 points

She has been stuck in the house for 4 days with 4 kids who were also stuck at the house. I guess it came down to who would file first. LOL4 points

This is an interesting one out of my collection. This rare jewel reads 68-1 on the yoke but I believe it to be a 681. I believe SMITH stamped it incorrectly because the model 68 was only made in .38. I love information and if I'm wrong please reach out and let me know3 points

Good on you for doing that. I saw a couple out today that shouldnt be behind the wheel on a clear day3 points

I tried to go to the gym this morning but turned around. The snow has been compacted into a sheet of ice in my neighborhood. Still haven't seen a plow. They are hoping to have all the roads treated by Saturday.3 points

Cabin fever hit for me and have to leave tomorrow so wanted to scope the roads out. Grabbed the neighbor milk and cruised around. Hit the 300k mark on my 02 frontier. Had a quick pipe dream of really wrenching on her this spring even though I hate working on vehicles. Minisplits/heat pump on an old block barely insulated house aren’t holding up great but that’s fine. 2 pairs of darn tough socks, hoodie, double bathrobe long John’s and PJs. Snow melted enough the dog finally zoomed around like a maniac after being cooped up. It’s the little things in life and that truck just makes me happy. Also, I’ve appreciated the snack update. I don’t keep snacks in the house. Day 3 and I randomly got a bag of gummy bears. Again, little things.3 points

This was my mother’s carry and passed onto me. Model 60, “no dash” S&W .38 revolver. Not sure of the date as she purchased it second-hand, but the serial begins with R73xx. She did have the trigger pull lightened as she purchased in MA and the original weight was too much for her arthritic hands. $650 OBO Located in Nashville.2 points

So here is this rifle now. I did cold blue the steel, refinished the stock, found a forend to refinish, cut the barrel down to 16.5”, hand cut the dovetail for the mag tube pin. The stripped receiver and barrel went to Class3Machining in Texas for threading. Only took 2weeks. (The can is still in jail)2 points

My wife and kids had to escape for a while this afternoon. I stayed home because I've come down with a bug of some sort. Main roads seem to be fine but secondary roads are bad in all the places you'd expect. I'd hoped the warmer temps today would melt things off a bit, but I can't tell any difference. It's drizzling at little at the moment. Given the continued cold, it's gonna be mid next week before this is gone.2 points

I've yet to find an inaccurate rifle chambered in 243, and haven't found an inaccurate load either. More than enough rifle for anything in Tennessee. I currently have a Savage 99F and a pre 64 Model 70 Winchester Featherweight so chambered. They both shoot tiny groups with both factory and handloaded ammo. Were I wanting to buy a particular rifle, I would consider a 243 Winchester chambering a plus.2 points

Even though I haven’t deer hunted in years, I bought a Browning A-Bolt II in .243 a couple years ago. I’ve wanted a .243 for years and thought I was going deer hunting with a friend, but the trip fell through. The A-Bolt shoots pretty nice, but I haven’t put together any handloads yet. I’ve never had trouble finding a variety of factory hunting ammo. I have a freshly rebuilt shoulder that feels pretty good, but I may never shoot my .30-06 again. The little A-Bolt is handy and I would like to see how the .243 does on a deer.2 points

If ,I say I say IF the weather forecast is correct we have rain coming this evening followed by a mix and then on to snow again as the temps drop tonight. That was courtesy of WVLT this morning. Starting around 3pm today.2 points

Good as any. Unless it's recently changed, if a store has any centerfire rifle ammunition, they'll have 243 Win. Like Darrell, I roll my own.2 points

Way too late to use the leaf blower for me here, the snow has melted a bit and re-froze a couple times, it's just a pretty solid sheet of ice in the back yard. It does crack/give way from my fat butt at times, but then the next step will support my full weight, sounds like a muffled firecracker going off. Driveway is probably the same way, yesterday was garbage day, but no one else in the neighborhood rolled their cans out either, nor have I ventured down to the mailbox. Walking the dog in the back yard is enough adventure for me at these temps. LOL2 points

Wife told our youngest that she missed him. He replied "Cause I'm not there to shovel snow?" Yep that is what she meant. lol2 points

Movement Partners - Starts With Us Daniel Lubetzky is listed right there, along with a bunch of very liberal far left supporters including Kathryn Murdoch, yes those Murdochs, Starting with red flag laws is NOT a way to reach out across the isles, if someone is too dangerous to be around guns, then they are too dangerous to be around society, taking their current guns away does nothing but make them get another gun or something far more lethal, and yes there are things more lethal.2 points

Great condition, have had this on a 5.56, 300 BLK, and .308. It mostly lived out its life on my .308 AR, but I'm jumping up in magnification on that rifle. Comes with box and paperwork.1 point

I'm going to clear my driveway this afternoon. The sun is working on it now, and if I can get most of the snow off then I think the sun will finish the ice. Even though I expect more ice overnight, it should clear more quickly without the snow.1 point

We just took the mother in law some leftovers and assorted groceries. The highways are clear here, but the county roads are still slickernchit!1 point

I actually bought a legit snow blower last year. I did it for a couple of reasons. First, it was dirt cheap and used the same battery packs my other lawn equipment uses. Second, my driveway is a steep incline and is very difficult to shovel. When I bought it I joked that I fully expected to never use it. With my luck once I owned it we would never see accumulated snow again. I guess I was wrong. I looked like a Minnesota local out front with a rooster tail of snow shooting off into the air and into the yard next to the drive. I was glad to have it though and a couple of my neighbors looked fairly jealous yesterday.1 point
