As someone who has spent a lot of time all over this country and especially in CA, I wonder if they realize how geographically small the area of CA is that contains all the left wing nutters? With sufficient planning, they could be isolated and neutralized reasonably quickly.4 points

I am constantly bothering Kustoff or Blackburn and Hagerty included- It seems at times that regardless of the Constitution these bad actors are gonna act bad- I don't think most people actually give a care one way or another as long as they can continue planting their face in the screen of their phones- Until one day someone takes away their phones-4 points

Gun shops will take as much as 50% of the sale for consignment firearms. They will also offer you as little as 40%~50% of the real value if you want to just sell a collection or individual pieces to them. They will mark them up significantly to either maximize their profit or leave them room to mark down if the item is slow to move off the shelf. They do not want stagnant inventory. There are fewer and fewer shops that wish to deal in used guns, especially older used guns, these days. That is especially true of the bigger and flashier stores. Your best bet is to find a knowledgeable family friend that can help value the items and assist with selling them. I have done this for two estates. I assigned a value to the items, highlighted some of the rarer or more valuable items they might wish to keep in the family, made fair offers on a few items I wanted to keep myself, and helped them sell the remainder to more distant relatives that were not beneficiaries in the estate. In one of those situations the friend gave me one of the items I had made an offer on as thanks for my help. In the other I bought two of the items at a discount and was treated to a nice steak dinner as thanks for the help. I did not expect any of it since I was just helping friends out but it was appreciated. Just be on the lookout for "friends" that want to take advantage of the situation by either under valuing or skimming off the choice pieces. Take a full inventory of serial numbers, brands, and models engraved on the items prior to having outsiders look at the collection. I recommend keeping a spreadsheet of the items no matter how you decide to handle the collection. Update the spread sheet with values or dispositions as they happen but at least you are starting with a full list of the serial numbers and have something to look back at if there are issues that pop up months down the road.3 points

Hey guys, I WAS SCAMMED… SELLERS BE CAREFUL. Selling my Ruger GP100 Match Champion .357. 4.2” barrel. The Match Champion has some factory polishing of internals resulting in a smooth running double action pistol. Simply have not had the opportunity to shoot this gun and see no reason to keep it in the safe. Probably shot 12 rounds total thru it. Extremely nice, never carried… (Holster included). I purchased this Gun new. MSRP on Ruger's site is $1239 Would be interested in trading for a Ruger SP101 or GP100 with a 3” barrel in like new condition. Murfreesboro, TN (615 294-5577) $750 SOLD2 points

The sad part is that this looks like it could be a really good movie and before the current era we wouldn’t have been concerned about whatever political agenda they’re likely to ham-fistedly beat us over the head with it.2 points

Not directly related to a magnate but I did something very dumb today. Was cleaning out the safe. Going to swap out batteries on safe and optics and I got distracted. I decided to make space and load mags. 9V battery. Pocket full of the leftover various calibers that I was going to put in a random mason jar. All of a sudden my pocket got very hot…. I absolutely should have known better. Figured this didn’t warrant a post and not exactly on topic but magnate/energy related. Just a friendly reminder to not be absent minded like me. Edit: I also forgot that I did some research before my last MRI. I was doing a lot of overhead welding and caught considerable slag over my right shoulder and neck. Apparently welders and millwright should give the doc a heads up, I was fine but I did mention it.2 points

I looked and there are a few threads about a member's dog(s) here and there, but I was surprised that we don't have ONE big thread of all the doggos on TGO. So, let's fix that. ^^^ This is Tiberias, or Tigh for short. Yeah Tigh is spelled weird but I'm also a Battlestar Galactica nerd and fans of the show will recall that the XO of the Galactica was named Tigh. Anyway, he's a pure bred German Shepherd Dog and currently 4-months old. He was a rescue and we were fortunate to be called this past Monday and asked if we wanted to come get him. And yes, we most certainly did. Tigh is proving himself to be the goodest boy possible. Super loving, super loyal, and also already very protective of his new house and his new pack. We're thrilled to have him. So, so me your dogs!1 point

More craft sale leftovers. Four of these are locally cut cedar planks but there is one store bought pressed wood and aluminum sign in the mix (darker wood and white welcome). The shorter boards are around 40" tall, the two taller ones around 52". We also have four extra cedar planks that have not been decorated yet, and my wife can decorate however you would want. Two are around 3' and the other two are around 4' tall - these are not pictured. Asking $20 each picked up in Columbia. I am labeling these as picture 1 (2 boards) and picture 2 (3 boards), start left to right 1-2 and 3-5 if you want to claim a number.1 point

Leftovers from a recent craft sale my wife had, figured would list here and see if can get rid of a few more. 7 snowmen made from locally cut cedar logs. No screws used, wooden dowels inserted/glued into each piece, and sealed with polyurethane. The snowmen are all around 20" tall. Asking $20 each picked up in the Columbia area. I am labeling these as picture 1 (3 snowmen) and picture 2 (4 snowmen), start left to right 1-3 and 4-7 if you want to claim a number.1 point

SOLGW BCG, Radian Raptor CH, Radian bolt catch, LaRue MBT-2S trigger, Surefire muzzle device, SBA3 brace, BUIS, Holosun 403 green dot. Yes. They will eat themselves regardless of their political beliefs. The problem is, so will towns in the 25-30k population range.1 point

I have someone I trust...who is what I'd consider one of the smartest individuals I've ever known....is a California conservative. He and I consider him a Libertarian. The majority of the California landmass is conservative. The major cities are liberal. I can see California fighting with Texas after the LA, San Diego, and San Francisco end abruptly.1 point

Dealing with pistol optics and RDSs, a torque screwdriver / wrench is money well spent. I've been using the Wheeler FAT driver and it does the job so far. If it saves you from breaking just one screw off in a slide, it'll more than pay for itself.1 point

Here are a few pictures I didn't know I had on this computer. The one is of Kasey in the Jeep and ready to go for a ride. The other one is of Buttons. He was my wife's dog and I adopted him when my wife passed away. He was a Chinese Cryst and the only hair on him was on his head and I had him for about 10 years after Margie passed away and he passed away from heart failure at age 15. I had him cremated and buried his ashes with Margie.1 point
