Why does 80/90% of the people, of the world, just think they will never be in harm's way. I watched the T V news last week and saw the Muslims/Palestinian's pull up and jump out of a car, at a bus stop with many people waiting, and open fire with pistols killing and injuring, and no one had any way of defense. I mean just about everyone in their area are out to kill them. We don't face the problems the Jews do, but we still have a slight/mediocre. chance here in the U S/TN. How does people not see the risk and prepare themselves as best as they can. It just blows my mind! Like sheep being led to slaughter, so-to-speak. Last week I was drafted to be one of the security guys, at my present church where I attend. I am going to be in the regular rotation now. About 14 years ago, I started a "Safety Team," consisting of 17 volunteers, at the previous church I/we attended. I have become a little more mature, and driving at night is harder so we changed to a church much closer to where I live. Instead of driving 45 minutes we drive 8 minutes now. Big help for me with night driving. I call it my church, but in fact it is one body of the Lord's church here on earth. The team I started had to deal with several serious disturbances over the 14 years I was there. The church I am attending now already had a team, so they learned my history, and I got drafted. As I sit there in the entrance, behind locked doors, I pondered what I had seen earlier on the TV News how those Jews were just sitting ducks and wondered why they have not prepared, if they could. I prayed to God to keep us safe, and prayed I would never need to use my tools in any situation, however if I needed too, I would have the ability. I just amazes me!!!! I guess warriors are in short supply now.6 points

And there we have it. The truth of your last sentence covers a great deal. However, in a lot of places, the doctrine of passivism has taken over and warriors have been run out of the church and are no longer welcome.4 points

Ladies and Gentlemen!! Hear ye, hear ye… 2023 is kicking my butt. At first, I was selling off items from my collection because of the annoyance of some medical bills from a broken leg, surgery, and PT... and twin girls getting braces this coming Spring. BUT LAST FRIDAY... a drunk/drugged driver - unlicensed and uninsured - came across 4 lanes of highway and hit me head-on. I am fine, all of the safety systems in the car worked, airbags deployed, the car crumpled and took most of the energy. Amazingly, I was not hurt - chalk up 1 for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L I was driving. But I suspect my car is a total loss, and now I am going to have to replace that once my insurance company gets around to their determination. I am not looking for your sympathy… no… I am looking for your money. LOL. But NOT charity! The charity is coming from my end on where I am with some of this stuff. I have had these listed individually, but I figured why not throw up a comprehensive list. I reduced the price on several of these previously, and have dropped more now. This is bottom-out pricing, I have no more blood left to give. I cannot accept trades of any kind (unless you own a car dealership and want to talk about this as a down payment on a new SUV or truck. LOL). I am borrowing a car at the moment - I do not have the ability to travel outside of Knoxville. Check back on this list… I may add to this as I contemplate what I can live without, or need to add. RIFLES Briefcase Breakdown AR Rifle - Remember in the movie Pulp Fiction where every time someone opens the briefcase, the light shines up in their face? It's kind of like that when you open it... Breakdown AR Rifle with TWO barrels, 5.56 and 300 Black-Out. Carbon Fiber handguard, very lightweight. Breaks down into the briefcase as pictured below. $2800. Mosin Nagant M91/30 – 7.62x54R – Nice Mosin with beautiful dark reddish stain PLUS a 440 round spam cam of 7.62x54R ammo. I will even throw in a can opener with it, because I am such a swell guy. $800 Winchester Model 94 AE Lever Action Rifle with scope, chambered in .307 Win. Beautiful checkered walnut stock. The research I did puts the serial number at around 1988-1990 production. Simms Pro Hunter 2-7x32 scope mounted. Will include 40 rounds of mixed ammo with it. $1400. Look up sales of this rifle on Gunbroker or anywhere else. This is a steal, and a heart breaker, as this is a really nice rifle my father left for me. I just don't get time to hunt. **** I have an additional 18 boxes of Winchester .307 Win ammo, 1 box of 150 gr, 17 boxes of 180 gr. I will give the buyer of the rifle first option to buy some or all of it. Then I will open it up to an open sale if they don't take it. HANDGUNS Sig Sauer P220 Elite Platinum - .45 ACP. From the Sig custom shop, this is the Platinum Elite model with aluminum grips, adjustable rear sight, night sights, two-tone frame and slide, 2 magazines - I bought as a collector piece, I have never fired it. $1300 Springfield Defender 1911 - .45 ACP. This is a cool piece. This is a commander sized 1911 that was modified as a race gun by one of the gunsmiths at Guncraft when they were in Knoxville in the 90s. Adjustable rear sight, Chip McCormack internals, compensator, extended slide bolt, trigger work, 4 magazines. Shoots like butter. $800 Ruger Super Blackhawk - Magnaport Customs "Predator"- .44 Magnum, 4 5/8" barrel, stainless. This model has compensator ports cut into the top of the barrel, a crowned barrel, adjustable rear sight, high-vis front sight, velvet hone finish. $1300 ACCESSORIES/PARTS – Can ship for actual cost of shipping. Meprolight Tru-Dot Tritium Night Sights for Glock 9mm, 40sw, 357 sig & 45 GAP pistols. Green front/Green rear. $80 Truglo Brite Site Tritium/Fiber Optic Night Sights for Glock 9mm, 40sw, 357 sig & 45 GAP pistols. Green front/Green rear. $100 1911 Custom Wood Grips. 1 set in Bubinga wood (lighter color, African Rosewood), 1 set in Wenge wood (darker, native to Africa and Guinea). I had a friend who hand-made these in Knoxville and was selling them in local gun shops back in the 90s. Beautiful work. $70 per set.3 points

Church is the last place id be unarmed! I dont like crowds for many reasons, but one of the reasons is lack of security. Seems to me that large venues and especially churches are/will be targeted. We just started going to a local church this past Sunday. I don't know yet if they have a security team, but I did see some guys around that COULD have filled that role. If we decide to make this our new church home, I'll learn more, and if i see a need, offer my assistance. If not, I'll still be armed.3 points

I think originally, the 45 Colt wasn’t chambered in lever rifles because the old balloon head cases couldn’t hold up to the extractor in the rifles. At least that’s what I’ve read. Anyway, that is no longer a problem with modern brass. The 30-30 is a high power rifle cartridge, and is superior in performance to most any revolver cartridge. Depending on what you expect of the rifle, you may not need all that power. It is neat to have a revolver and rifle that shoot the same cartridge. Cool thing is that if you decide you don’t like it, they sell like hotcakes. Both cartridges are expensive, at least to a cheapskate like me. I reload, so cost isn’t as big a factor as it would be if you were buying factory ammo.3 points

ERay, you are entitled to your opinion. Let me share with you my thoughts on this subject. Jesus told the Apostles to buy a sword. (Luke 22:35-38) Anyone can read it for yourself in your Bible. In (Luke 9:3) earlier in the book of Luke, Jesus told the apostles He would take care of them, as he sent them out, and they acknowledged that fact He did take care of them in (Lk 22:35). And He said to them, "When I sent you out without a purse and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?" And they said "No, nothing." Then in the very next verse(36) He(Jesus) said to them, "But now, let him who has a purse take it along, likewise also a bag, and let him who has no sword sell his robe and buy one."(verse 38) "and they said, "Lord, Look, here are 2 swords." And He said to them, "It is enough." Why would Jesus do this? Because he knew he was to be crucified, therefore He would not be bodily present to provide for them. I am totally not trying to be a smart butt, or disparage you in any way, but it seems to me if Jesus was not going to be able to provide necessities (including safety) for the apostles, what makes one think that He will do it for you? I mean we are talking safety here, or Jesus would not have told them to purchase a sword. Swords, when close, punch holes. Guns do it from up close or from a distance. They both are offensive weapons and can be used for self-defense. If I get harmed, while in church, and perhaps even die, I too have confidence God will take care of my soul thru my faith in His Son Jesus the Christ. On the other hand, my wife and children are going to be without their husband and father. My church will be without a servant intent on doing good. If I can help it, I am not going to let them loose me, if I can prevent it. I am a God-fearing man and trying to do a good job of serving in Jesus Kingdom here on earth. These are my thought, eRay. I will go as far to say I like the fact that some are concealed carrying at my church. And do pray that, if evil invades, God will guide them to protect all of us. Google the video from Sotherland Springs Church of Christ in Texas. You can see what their safety team did in real time. Edited to add content.2 points

I agree. I don’t like crowds. Anywhere at any time. Sad to see this is what is needed these days. It is what it is now. I am starting to see signs more and more about no firearms being allowed in businesses. I refuse to give up a right under our constitution to attend, shop, dine, or anything! My Doctors office in Lenoir City has one of these signs up now. In the same small city that just a few weeks ago, an idiot walks into Walmart and pops off 8-10 rounds in the air with his rifle. Thankfully no one was injured or hurt. After having a serious talk with my Dr, it seems that her insurance company required it. Although I understand why she had to install this sign, it still means that I will have a different doctors office the next time I’m in need. Do NOT sacrifice your rights for anything. Church, Dr office, or grocery store. You may be the guy/gals who stops evil from attacking your community. Heads on a swivel guys.2 points

Ignorance is bliss. Reality is scary. If you stay willfully ignorant of the scary, it can't get you. Our church of 500-ish people and about 5 acres employs a single off duty cop for services and events. He sits in his car most of the time, walks around inside occasionally. Nice guy, but its just security theater.2 points

I've been interested in the 44 Special Rossi and Taurus revolvers from the late 80's to early 90's production, I believe the correct model number(s) for Rossi is the 720 and for Taurus 431, 441, 445 and the Taurus 455 in 45 auto. Anyone had experience with these?2 points

Good Point ! I could always sale it if i end up wanting 30-30. I know the 45 colt will not be time accurate Im just trying to avoid adding another caliber to my list....But the advantage the 30-30 gives may just make it worth it2 points

Yea I'm trying to give Rosie a good life since the only thing she was used for was breeding and when she was no longer good for that they were going to put her down so I'm spoiling her as much as I can. I found out last year that she has a heart condition and has to take medication twice a day and the Vet has put her on a diet and I have to buy special food for her that costs $50.00 for 12 cans which is about $100.00 a month and her meds are $62.00 a month but I will spend what ever it costs as long as she is happy. She also loves all the attention I can give her and she soaks it up like a sponge. I found out that the breeder does not show her dogs any affection at all because they are not pets according to her. I noticed when I first got her that she would cower down when I would try and pet her like she was abused and it took me about 2 months to get her out of that so now when I pet her it seems to never be enough now...lol.1 point

I had at least one dog in my life since age 6 and most of them were or are rescue dogs. The last 2 where some type of terriers which 1 of them I had for 18 years and she was rescued by me from a big wild yellow Tomcat that had stole her from a litter somewhere and was going to make a meal of it until a 22lr ended that. Animal control had been trying to trap it without success so when I had the chance I took it and I thought it had a rat but it turned out to be a newborn puppy that I ended up bottle feeding and buying doggie milk at 10 bucks a can which the Vet set me up with all the stuff I needed. I had animal control come out and collect the dead cat and all their cage traps they had set around my house. The guy thanked me for killing the cat as he was getting complaints from everyone in the neighborhood about it. I named her Kasey and I had her for 18 years and lost her to heart failure. It was like losing a Child and I still have her on top of my TV console. I had her cremated and placed in an urn. About 3 months a friend of mine brought a dog to me that could have been Kasey's sister in appearance and he had to find a home for her because he was moving and the new place didn't allow pets. Her name was Darby and I took her in. I only had her about 3 years and lost her to kidney Failure and I have her on my TV console also. Now for present time I have a best friend name Rosie and my daughter was doing Home Health Care and one of her patients was a breeder of Basset Hounds and she had a 5 year old that she could no longer breed and was going to have her put down and my daughter sent me a picture of her and I told her to get her so she told the woman that her father was Rosie so they made arrangements to get her to me. I still have her and she is now almost 8 years old and spoiled rotten.1 point

Thank you all for sharing the pics of your pups! Just a quick post before I head in to work a bit. Good on you @A.J. Holst ! Awesome helper you’ve got. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Boo before and can confidently say she is a “Good Girl”, but I would not want to get on her bad-side. My pups, 2 sets of Pekingese (Bastian & Lil then Buckley & Grace) over a 25 year period are in Heaven guarding my Bride. But I know Rhonda has her hands full with them! Entitled little devils but they gave us a lot of love in their time. (My son just sent this pic to me after I told him about my vicarious living through it). Thanks again to all! The little guy is Poe. He’s resting on his sister Nala. Nala is a squirrel killer. Poe couldn’t be bothered with such.1 point

This is Cody, my baby. 105 pounds of rotten to the core. In the second picture he's helping me with my building project. Well, more like supervising. The most talkative feller I've ever had. Plus, he's a promising contender for the World Title of King of the Belly Rub. In my world there has never been a more loved and protected dog. I call him my son.1 point

This is Koira. We kinda inherited her from my youngest daughter who, during a rough spot, was unable to care for her. Now she's a part of the family for sure and thinks she's Queen. VERY loyal and loving dog, probably the most so I've ever seen. She's very attached (almost neurotically) to my wife, but likes me ok too. I think she's around 5 years old.1 point

Here's my lot... Duchess and Winchester. We lost Ruger ,our Black male, in October and are still dealing with it. He was with us for 12 years and our pack is not the same. UPDATE Duchess went to join Ruger last Monday night. She lost her battle with bone cancer. Pain and sorrow are not what I wanted this year. She is at rest now....... I look forward to being with them when I get home to the Lord.1 point

I'm a 1911 specialist, but I'm all the way in Chattanooga. I have built over 200 full 1911's, and tuned and customized countless others. I must respectfully disagree with the above; the 1911 is one of the most complex handguns to tune correctly (and safely). I have more money in 1911 specialty tools than I do for all other handguns combined. No sir, simple tools are absolutely not adequate for even the most common jobs, such as trigger work and timing or barrel fitment. At least, not at what most consider a true "gunsmith" level. Just tuning a trigger takes several hundred dollars in specialty tools. I need trigger stirrup anvils of various sizes to form the trigger bow - essential for smooth and even support along the magwell trigger shelf. I need a sear microscope to set my sear angles ($$$!). I need my 1911 stoning jigs to cut my sear and hone my ignition group. A whole set of tools is needed to set the link and cut the lugs. And fitment of the hood and recoil lugs is a whole art form in itself! Anyway... with all due respect, growing into working on 1911's was a multi-year, multi-thousand dollar proposition for us.1 point
