  1. The first I’ll take it , if anyone can use any of this stuff. I really don’t want to ship anything, but?? Mini 14 recoil spring ? Pistol grip for a Mossberg 500? Holster and grips that came with a Ruger SP101 38 spl. 3” bbl. French revolver I’ll probably find more stuff I don’t need, or if your looking for something ask. 4. If you find a good deal on a mid range quality safe that you feel you cannot move yourself there are a number of places that will move a safe for $250~$300 dollars. With that said I have moved two of the "mid range" safes myself with just a pickup truck and an appliance dolly. A safe in the 400lb range (most of your small to mid size Cannon/Liberty/Winchester big box store safes) is fairly easy to move for one person. A second set of hands is nice though. A safe in the 600lb range is very manageable for one person but only from a trailer and into a ground floor with minimal steps or height changes. I would not do a 600lb safe from a truck bed by myself and likely would want at least 1 or 2 strong helpers. My truck bed is average height, F150 with OEM tires and no lift, but I do have a topper so I had to lay the last safe down. This actually made it easier to get out with some loading ramps I had. If you can beg, borrow, or rent a small trailer with a ramp gate moving a safe with an appliance dolly is easy. Side note: there is some risk laying a safe down on its side or back. Some lock mechanisms could be damaged by doing that but I have never had that issue. Just beware of that risk and don't jump any rail road tracks on your way home with it. I fall into the "cheap is better than nothing" camp. A big box store Black Friday safe is much better than a stack-on cabinet and worlds better than the back of a closet. If a motivated thief wants into your safe they are getting in. A safe is not single line of defense, it is one part of a good system. The real security is having that safe in a semi secure location behind locked doors preferably with a monitored alarm system, smoke detectors, and in a perfect world a sprinkler suppression system. A safe slows everything down. It will slow down fire damage and it will slow down a motivated thief, hopefully long enough for fire department and/or police to show up and handle things if I am not there. I consider my safe as primarily fire protection, secondarily as access protection from children or visitors, and third as theft prevention/deterrence.

  5. First off let me say thanks to all of you that offered up a prayer for my daughter. She completed all her chemo a couple weeks ago and had her double mastectomy yesterday. She's home resting and her mother is there to watch over things for about a month. She is deemed "cancer free" in that all her lymph node biopsies came back negative and of course her lump is gone as well. She still has some localized radiation treatments after she heals from surgery but for now everything is lookin' good.

  6. Rare complete CZ 75 22lr upper and lower matched serial number 22lr. This is NOT a kadet conversion kit, but rather a 22 manufactured by CZ as a complete 22 based on the legendary CZ 75 platform. CZ quit offering this to the dismay of many fans @ 2009. I purchased this gun used and put about 200 rounds through it @ 2015. Been in safe ever since. Perfect shape with 2 mags. Check out CZ forums dedicated "Kadet" threads. If you like high quality 22 handguns you should consider this. $750 OBO cash. Must sign BOS and provide copy of TN DL or HCP. Franklin TN area.

  9. The dot allows you to do things that you cannot do nearly as easily with irons. The dot does not have to be centered in the window...meaning that no matter where the dot is , if you can see it on the target that is where the bullet will impact. So you are able to aim from contorted positions where it might not be possible to get both the front and rear sight aligned with the eye. The dot also allows for more precise aiming at distant or small targets. And it also allows for focusing on the target and "noticing the dot" instead of focusing on the front sight and noticing the target and the rear sight. It means your focus can remain on the target and you have eliminated one of the 3 focal points (rear sight) from your aiming consideration. And finally the dot allows people who are far sighted (as many people become as they get older) to see the dot even if they cannot see (or see a fuzzy ) front sight. Now do you NEED a dot? No and we can make an argument that inside 5 yards you don't even need SIGHTS at all if your grip, trigger press, and presentation of the pistol are good. But the dot allows you to easily engage targets at distance that would be "iffy " with irons.

  13. Get both. I guess it depends on what you want in a lever gun. I like old guns (Marlin, Winchester) and I don’t think 45 Colt was available in lever guns until more recently. It seems to be a popular cartridge for cowboy shooting. It should be ok for deer under 100yards.

  14. I looked and there are a few threads about a member's dog(s) here and there, but I was surprised that we don't have ONE big thread of all the doggos on TGO. So, let's fix that. ^^^ This is Tiberias, or Tigh for short. Yeah Tigh is spelled weird but I'm also a Battlestar Galactica nerd and fans of the show will recall that the XO of the Galactica was named Tigh. Anyway, he's a pure bred German Shepherd Dog and currently 4-months old. He was a rescue and we were fortunate to be called this past Monday and asked if we wanted to come get him. And yes, we most certainly did. Tigh is proving himself to be the goodest boy possible. Super loving, super loyal, and also already very protective of his new house and his new pack. We're thrilled to have him. So, so me your dogs!

  15. Ladies and Gentlemen!! Hear ye, hear ye… 2023 is kicking my butt. At first, I was selling off items from my collection because of the annoyance of some medical bills from a broken leg, surgery, and PT... and twin girls getting braces this coming Spring. BUT LAST FRIDAY... a drunk/drugged driver - unlicensed and uninsured - came across 4 lanes of highway and hit me head-on. I am fine, all of the safety systems in the car worked, airbags deployed, the car crumpled and took most of the energy. Amazingly, I was not hurt - chalk up 1 for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L I was driving. But I suspect my car is a total loss, and now I am going to have to replace that once my insurance company gets around to their determination. I am not looking for your sympathy… no… I am looking for your money. LOL. But NOT charity! The charity is coming from my end on where I am with some of this stuff. I have had these listed individually, but I figured why not throw up a comprehensive list. I reduced the price on several of these previously, and have dropped more now. This is bottom-out pricing, I have no more blood left to give. I cannot accept trades of any kind (unless you own a car dealership and want to talk about this as a down payment on a new SUV or truck. LOL). I am borrowing a car at the moment - I do not have the ability to travel outside of Knoxville. Check back on this list… I may add to this as I contemplate what I can live without, or need to add. RIFLES Briefcase Breakdown AR Rifle - Remember in the movie Pulp Fiction where every time someone opens the briefcase, the light shines up in their face? It's kind of like that when you open it... Breakdown AR Rifle with TWO barrels, 5.56 and 300 Black-Out. Carbon Fiber handguard, very lightweight. Breaks down into the briefcase as pictured below. $2800. Mosin Nagant M91/30 – 7.62x54R – Nice Mosin with beautiful dark reddish stain PLUS a 440 round spam cam of 7.62x54R ammo. I will even throw in a can opener with it, because I am such a swell guy. $800 Winchester Model 94 AE Lever Action Rifle with scope, chambered in .307 Win. Beautiful checkered walnut stock. The research I did puts the serial number at around 1988-1990 production. Simms Pro Hunter 2-7x32 scope mounted. Will include 40 rounds of mixed ammo with it. $1400. Look up sales of this rifle on Gunbroker or anywhere else. This is a steal, and a heart breaker, as this is a really nice rifle my father left for me. I just don't get time to hunt. **** I have an additional 18 boxes of Winchester .307 Win ammo, 1 box of 150 gr, 17 boxes of 180 gr. I will give the buyer of the rifle first option to buy some or all of it. Then I will open it up to an open sale if they don't take it. HANDGUNS Sig Sauer P220 Elite Platinum - .45 ACP. From the Sig custom shop, this is the Platinum Elite model with aluminum grips, adjustable rear sight, night sights, two-tone frame and slide, 2 magazines - I bought as a collector piece, I have never fired it. $1300 Springfield Defender 1911 - .45 ACP. This is a cool piece. This is a commander sized 1911 that was modified as a race gun by one of the gunsmiths at Guncraft when they were in Knoxville in the 90s. Adjustable rear sight, Chip McCormack internals, compensator, extended slide bolt, trigger work, 4 magazines. Shoots like butter. $800 Ruger Super Blackhawk - Magnaport Customs "Predator"- .44 Magnum, 4 5/8" barrel, stainless. This model has compensator ports cut into the top of the barrel, a crowned barrel, adjustable rear sight, high-vis front sight, velvet hone finish. $1300 ACCESSORIES/PARTS – Can ship for actual cost of shipping. Meprolight Tru-Dot Tritium Night Sights for Glock 9mm, 40sw, 357 sig & 45 GAP pistols. Green front/Green rear. $80 Truglo Brite Site Tritium/Fiber Optic Night Sights for Glock 9mm, 40sw, 357 sig & 45 GAP pistols. Green front/Green rear. $100 1911 Custom Wood Grips. 1 set in Bubinga wood (lighter color, African Rosewood), 1 set in Wenge wood (darker, native to Africa and Guinea). I had a friend who hand-made these in Knoxville and was selling them in local gun shops back in the 90s. Beautiful work. $70 per set.

  18. The 45 colt will work just fine up to near a 100 yds., more if you practice and know your weapon. The 30-30 will have more ammo available at more places than 45 colt, but I'm sure you know that seeing that you own the Vaquero. As to the 45 colt round, it was a pistol cartridge mainly until recent years. From reading in the early years the brass wasn't strong enough for the extractors in rifles. I have 2 rifles in 45 colt and 5 in 30-30 so I like both. RP

  19. I just like to have a couple of the 20 or 30 mm. The ones I have I bought through the years when they were cheap. 50 cal. Was $5 and 30 cal. Was $3 bigger ones were about $10. I probably got over 100 all different sizes now. May just get 1 or 2 of the MTM big ones at the Outpost Armory, they have a rubber seal on them. And aren’t expensive for the size.

  20. Good luck with your sale. I have the same 1301 model you have for sale and it is my favorite shotgun. I am looking for a standard stock 1301 in green or FDE. I just missed one Funman had for sale about a month ago, but I am sure another one will surface. That is a great gun for anyone looking for a defensive shotgun.

  24. Been here about 15+ years, originally from Florida and have way too many hobbies. LoL. Currently, i've been trying to shoot really accurate shots with bolt action .22s due to the price and the fact they aren't as loud as everything else. I bought a marlin 880sq from a pawn shop prob. 10 years ago because I was shooting really quiet aquila super colibri ammo in the back yard and it won't cycle in semi auto's. The marlin is bolt, after running some elley tennex through it and realising just how accurate it was , put a decen scope on it and bought a boyds custom stock. I really like this rifle and would like to find another.

  27. Well, the 450 Marlin is so new, it doesn’t count in my book (LOL). If Marlin didn’t produce it for pre cross bolt safety guns, well….. I know that in general, sub .40” is mid bore, but Winchester called their rifles chambered in.375 Win “big bore” so I’m going with that. Otherwise, I guess I can say I have a pair of big bore (.444 & 45-70) a pair of mid bore (35 Rem & 375 win) although I have multiple rifles chambered in .35 Rem.

  29. Yea I'm trying to give Rosie a good life since the only thing she was used for was breeding and when she was no longer good for that they were going to put her down so I'm spoiling her as much as I can. I found out last year that she has a heart condition and has to take medication twice a day and the Vet has put her on a diet and I have to buy special food for her that costs $50.00 for 12 cans which is about $100.00 a month and her meds are $62.00 a month but I will spend what ever it costs as long as she is happy. She also loves all the attention I can give her and she soaks it up like a sponge. I found out that the breeder does not show her dogs any affection at all because they are not pets according to her. I noticed when I first got her that she would cower down when I would try and pet her like she was abused and it took me about 2 months to get her out of that so now when I pet her it seems to never be enough now...lol.

  32. Remember the thread we had a few weeks ago about data? xx% of TN residents possessing a permit also makes the data tilt in the favor of 2A supporters when the bean counters and politicians are only interested in the data. Could also possibly be used as a negative I suppose. But I can't think of an example at the moment.

  33. Late to this party, but as a gunsmith and 07 manufacturer, I'd immediately set about making reproduction MG42's chambered in 308 and 5.56. I think that would be a very good seller and make my retirement.

  34. Bought this one a little while ago with plans to mod it pretty good but just haven't had time. Gun was bought new and has not been fired outside of the factory test fire. I did use one of the mags for a ranges session in on of my other CZs so you can see it has been used. If that bothers you I can swap out a nib 16 rd mag for the used one. Feel free to PM with any questions, not sure what else to tell you about a brand new gun $550
