The first I’ll take it , if anyone can use any of this stuff. I really don’t want to ship anything, but?? Mini 14 recoil spring ? Pistol grip for a Mossberg 500? Holster and grips that came with a Ruger SP101 38 spl. 3” bbl. French revolver I’ll probably find more stuff I don’t need, or if your looking for something ask. Definitely a tough call but I think Georgia is the better team. I'll be pulling for Washington.2 points

I'm not sure if anyone is interested but I listened to a Podcast on Spotify last evening. It a recent interview with Caleb Giddings of Taurus on the Green Op Podcast. I've been aware of Caleb since, I believe, the first episode of Top Shot. Caleb says some interesting, and possibly, unexpected things on that Podcast. I'm not personally surprised because he's a shooter first. He mainly discusses the changes at Taurus since moving to the Bainbridge Georgia plant. And the growing focus on QC and customer service (as would be expected from their Marketing Manager). I'm historically a S&W or Ruger revolver fan. I shoot my LCR's at least weekly. Gonna shoot both soon! Hope it's OK to link the podcast. If not Mods, please delete, or let me know and I'll do it. TIA and hope this is useful. ETA. Didn't mean to sound vague. But context is important. Caleb discusses carrying an LCR for NPE or pocket carry and Taurus for holster carry. 2nd ETA at 1623. Apologies for the initial included link, Won't repeat it.2 points

REALLY looking forward to seeing which teams are selected for the CFP this year. The committee has quite a tough chore ahead of them today. I think it's safe to assume that Michigan and my Huskies are in. But what about FSU? They're undefeated conference champs. Texas beat Alabama head to head, but Alabama just beat Georgia. Does the SEC get left out in favor or Texas? Does Texas get passed by a team they beat H2H with the same record? It's going to be interesting!2 points

Bama did what they do. Was a good game to watch but it is what it is. That game also marked the end of an era. It was the last SEC game to be broadcast on CBS. Even if Gary Danielson is getting as senile as old Verne Lundquist was, I’m gonna miss their broadcasts. Just wish Nessler would do a better job of correcting Gary, lol.2 points

I've had an 85UL for some time and it's been great. It has a better trigger than stock Ruger and S&W's I've had. Traded the springs for Wolff springs and it got even better. One of the best DA revolver triggers I've ever held. That being said, I've held other Taurus revolvers that weren't close, so maybe I got a unicorn but it's a good one!2 points

First off let me say thanks to all of you that offered up a prayer for my daughter. She completed all her chemo a couple weeks ago and had her double mastectomy yesterday. She's home resting and her mother is there to watch over things for about a month. She is deemed "cancer free" in that all her lymph node biopsies came back negative and of course her lump is gone as well. She still has some localized radiation treatments after she heals from surgery but for now everything is lookin' good.2 points

I had at least one dog in my life since age 6 and most of them were or are rescue dogs. The last 2 where some type of terriers which 1 of them I had for 18 years and she was rescued by me from a big wild yellow Tomcat that had stole her from a litter somewhere and was going to make a meal of it until a 22lr ended that. Animal control had been trying to trap it without success so when I had the chance I took it and I thought it had a rat but it turned out to be a newborn puppy that I ended up bottle feeding and buying doggie milk at 10 bucks a can which the Vet set me up with all the stuff I needed. I had animal control come out and collect the dead cat and all their cage traps they had set around my house. The guy thanked me for killing the cat as he was getting complaints from everyone in the neighborhood about it. I named her Kasey and I had her for 18 years and lost her to heart failure. It was like losing a Child and I still have her on top of my TV console. I had her cremated and placed in an urn. About 3 months a friend of mine brought a dog to me that could have been Kasey's sister in appearance and he had to find a home for her because he was moving and the new place didn't allow pets. Her name was Darby and I took her in. I only had her about 3 years and lost her to kidney Failure and I have her on my TV console also. Now for present time I have a best friend name Rosie and my daughter was doing Home Health Care and one of her patients was a breeder of Basset Hounds and she had a 5 year old that she could no longer breed and was going to have her put down and my daughter sent me a picture of her and I told her to get her so she told the woman that her father was Rosie so they made arrangements to get her to me. I still have her and she is now almost 8 years old and spoiled rotten.2 points

I'm quite a fan of Taurus. My first was a SS 85 back in the mid 80s. It was a trade in from a LEO that felt an autoloader would make a better ankle gun. Good for what it was, grouped good for a snubbie. Trigger on this one was a bit stiff but not gritty. Fit and finish were mediocre. Bought a new 6 inch 669VR at the same time. That one had a great trigger and shot tight groups. I miss both of these, lost in divorce. Currently have a 4 inch SS 608. The heavy cylinder and ported barrel make this a soft shooter with heavy 357 loads. Trigger is excellent on this revolver and fit and finish are very good. Aquired a "sissy" 945 SS at the same time and I adore this pistol. trigger is good especially for an SA/DA gun. Groups are good as are fit and finish. These two were used imports and Taurus does not recognize the serial numbers. This is where I have issues. Taurus would not sell a replacement firing pin group for the 608 becuse they "didn't know what I had". The firing pin wasn't broken, it was missing when I received it BTW. I picked up a 745 at a pawn shop not long ago. Not a fan of striker fired guns and I cannot for the life of me understand why they didn't put a decocker on this. The long takeup on the trigger is awful and I am not comfortable with one in the chamber without the safety on. Fit and finish are good on this piece. I can't tell if it groups well or not as I have not gotten used to the trigger. I had a 4 inch Rossi at one time. Couldn't resisit the Stainless steel 357 with unfluted cylinder. I had to do a bit of polishing of the sear but it was otherwise ok. fit was excellent and it shot well. Nothing newer but I've been happy with all of the Taurus and on Rossi I've owned. I will buy more and do not consider them as second choice to anything except a Python. Currently tracking prices on Taurus 1911, the duo tone model specifically. I'm also looking at PT 145s. well, guess I'm collecting Taurus .45 ACP now.2 points

Had a friend buy two Taurus semiautomatic 9 mm identical models from a FFL about a year ago one shot fine out of box the other keyholed every round. He did get it replaced with no problem So still hit and miss for me2 points

STOP IT!!! The word you're looking for is 'Sale' An item you want to sell, is 'For Sale' Do better.1 point

Good afternoon! For sale is a Browning ProSteel Sporter 24 gun safe, although it will fit much more if you collect Liberators or mouse guns! You don't need to worry about batteries running out when Red Dawn happens as the safe is manually locking with an S&G lock (I'll give you the combo for $50 extra ) and comes with the pistol stands depicted, as well as upgraded rubber shelves per the pictures. Also comes with the locking key and the original combo card if I can find it. Good condition overall, a few house paint marks from moving that will buff out if you decide to show it at a safe show. I'm in the military and moving it has become a total pain as I have to arrange for a special team to come every time I move. I believe it's a 500 pound safe, so it's not a "two guys and a truck" type scenario but I'll work with you to make whatever your moving arrangements are work. I don't remember what I paid (we all know safes sell below MSRP) but I think the price is fair at $400. Located in Collierville - can't meet halfway as I'm shredded obviously, but can't quite lift it into my car. Happy holidays! William1 point

Been here about 15+ years, originally from Florida and have way too many hobbies. LoL. Currently, i've been trying to shoot really accurate shots with bolt action .22s due to the price and the fact they aren't as loud as everything else. I bought a marlin 880sq from a pawn shop prob. 10 years ago because I was shooting really quiet aquila super colibri ammo in the back yard and it won't cycle in semi auto's. The marlin is bolt, after running some elley tennex through it and realising just how accurate it was , put a decen scope on it and bought a boyds custom stock. I really like this rifle and would like to find another.1 point

After what happened with TCU last year, there was no way the committee was letting a weak FSU team into the playoffs. It was always going to be Georgia or Bama. ROLL TIDE!!! Michigan when Bama was announced as their opponent1 point

This is a key statement. If it "fixes itself after a while" that tells me that you need to clear the cache on your browser and try again. Since it seems to be periodic and constrained somehow to a period of time, I think that the period of time we're talking about is the duration for which things are stored in your browser's cache. When the cache "time to live" expires, you get the valid objects from TGO's server.1 point

I’ve got a couple inforce WML on my HD 12 gauges. Picked them up second hand. I think I have the newer WMLx and the older version, ones definitely 400 lumens. With recoil they won’t hold up on pic rail alone but there’s a few different adapters with QD sling attachments that hold it with a pic mount. They’re not pretty, rugged enough so far, battery is a cr123a and want to say it’s a two hour run time. Momentary, strobe, constant. Convenient for me to hit the button with my thumb as I’m cruiser ready for shotgun HD just in case with the dog. Couldn’t justify dropping practically the costs of the mav88s on a “proper” light. I’ve got a tight house and didn’t need more lumens or throw. I’ve been happy with how they’ve held up for me. If you could find a deal on a used one for a knock around shotgun may be worth a shot.1 point

Well, the 450 Marlin is so new, it doesn’t count in my book (LOL). If Marlin didn’t produce it for pre cross bolt safety guns, well….. I know that in general, sub .40” is mid bore, but Winchester called their rifles chambered in.375 Win “big bore” so I’m going with that. Otherwise, I guess I can say I have a pair of big bore (.444 & 45-70) a pair of mid bore (35 Rem & 375 win) although I have multiple rifles chambered in .35 Rem.1 point

Thank you all for sharing the pics of your pups! Just a quick post before I head in to work a bit. Good on you @A.J. Holst ! Awesome helper you’ve got. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Boo before and can confidently say she is a “Good Girl”, but I would not want to get on her bad-side. My pups, 2 sets of Pekingese (Bastian & Lil then Buckley & Grace) over a 25 year period are in Heaven guarding my Bride. But I know Rhonda has her hands full with them! Entitled little devils but they gave us a lot of love in their time. (My son just sent this pic to me after I told him about my vicarious living through it). Thanks again to all! The little guy is Poe. He’s resting on his sister Nala. Nala is a squirrel killer. Poe couldn’t be bothered with such.1 point

Last time I turned on the evening news, it seems like many of the local "Memphians" are doing their shooting right in the streets.... Sorry, couldn't resist it. Actually, I am saddened by how this once great city has been taken over by the thugs.....1 point

My EDC is a Taurus Mdl 617 2" 7 shot snubby in 38/357 Mag. I have 2, one in an alloy frame lightweight 38 Spl only. Both are K frame size and I pocket carry the 7 shot SS 357 daily and have for the past 10 years. Carry it in a modified DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. It has probably 6 to 800 rounds through it and has always been there. It/they are quality revolvers. I had 2 earlier 38/357 Rossie in 6 shot 38/357 mag 2" brls. Gave both to daughters. They were adequate, but reliable revolvers. If Smith Wesson made a 7 shot K frame, I would purchase it. They don't that I know of. I did recently purchase a 686 + w/ 3" brl, however it is not a pocket carry revolver. I recommend the Taurus or Rossie, but just know I preferer the Smith Wesson brand if they made the same thing. I learned a long time ago to spend the extra 1 to 2 hundred to purchase the best, if they have what you want. It will be much more satisfying in the long run. Taurus is a good second choice IMO. Rossie 3rd. Edited for sspelling.1 point

I don't reload 9mm or .223 because I can buy it by the case for pretty much what I put into components, but for other calibers -- I load .32, 38, .357, .44 Sp, .45 ACP, 10mm, .308, .300 AAC, .270 Win -- it's worthwhile. Cheers, Whisper1 point

I haven't seen .20/round 9mm that I would put in my gun. A friend told me that Academy had Blazer brass for .24 each yesterday. That is about as good as I've seen. I've been through these cycles several times now. Components are cheap>people get complacent and say reloading isn't worthwhile>Democrats win/covid hits etc>people freak out>ammo disappears>I handload for .10/round>people want to get into reloading. Back in 2018 or 2019 when primers were $22/1k, people on this site were telling me reloading isn't worthwhile. The same people were scrounging for ammo in 2020/2021 and probably standing in line at Academy every Thursday morning. I can still load pistol ammo for less than half what it costs if I use components I bought when they told me I was wasting time and money. With components bought today, it's still worthwhile. If nothing else, it's there when the next run starts and I don't have to hunt up and down hoping to find some.1 point

Cans. That's it. Ammunition costs too much to be fooling around with full auto, Besides, I got enough of that in the Army.1 point

Cans, just cans. I would put one on my 22s mostly for squirrel, and maybe on my 300Blk. I have no interest in anything FA, I could not afford to feed them and I have had plenty of fun with them while active duty, so the novelty has pretty much worn off.1 point
