Older model US made stainless Beretta 92sf. Picked up from a coworker that inherited it from his father in law. Was supposed to be unfired until then. He said he put 400 rounds thru it since. Gun comes with 2 mags, original plastic box, and original cardboard outer box. Looking for $650 or trade. I like JM marlins, hunting rifles especially with threaded barrels, 9mm threaded hosts, 357/38 levergun or ????3 points

My wife’s brother has a daughter who has two daughters of her own. Best I can figure, that makes them my great nieces. Anyway, the oldest is about 3 years old. She never seemed to like me much, although they live several hours away from here, and we don’t see them very often. At her preschool, they were asked to name the things they are thankful for this Thanksgiving. She named off several things, including the family members she could think of. Then she asked her mom “Who’s the guy with the white beard?” Her mom said “Santa Claus?” She said “-No, Greg.” I thought that was pretty cool. It probably ain’t much to you, but hell! I beat out Sant Claus.3 points

Here is my very nice commercial model German Luger made in 1920 by DWM. I’ve had this pistol a long time and it’s a fantastic example. All numbers match on pistol (except the magazine) and the pistol is in great condition, and all blueing/strawing is nice. Bore is perfect, action is smooth. Comes with a an original 1940 WW2 Era dated holster (as was common with captures and how some German police pistols were found at the end of the war) one original wood based magazine, and 50 rounds of Fiocci 30 luger ammo. asking 1400 obo located in Knoxville2 points

There are a couple of Reddit threads showing Hellcats with similar failures. One stated Armscor ammo, and the other did not specify. I’m still unconvinced it was the ammo.2 points

I’m reminded again what it feels like to be a Vandy fan. At least we lost to the best team in the country.1 point

Think the ammo recall and Norma’s willingness to foot the bill for everything says it all honestly. If they could point finger at Springfield I’m sure they would have. Will circle back with any additional info from gunsmiths1 point

Used once with snake leggings, then bought snake boots. I wear tenners most of the year so these are on a shelf. I think I paid sixty dollars at Academy for these. Pick up in Hermitage.1 point

I’ve been watching a real healthy doe and two fawns for the better part of six months. Dropped down to one fawn a month ago. Last week I heard a bang from the street and my stomach dropped thinking it may be the dog for some odd reason. It was the other fawn clipped by a truck. Elderly neighbor called the cops and they left it on the road, was able to salvage some tacos and back straps. The doe has been meticulous like clockwork, always showed up between 8-10am. A day before the season opened I heard a rifle round. Haven’t seen her since. Neighbors are on a fixed income and I’m not one to open my mouth. I’d be lying if I didn’t miss having that family show up and graze. I’ll be going out tomorrow morning in Dickson.1 point

I never had anyone fail. But I've had several that would have if they didn't start listening. We always had people warm up prior to shooting for qualification. The guys who "have been shooting for 30 years" were usually the worst. I had people take the class who actually didn't own a gun - they just borrowed one for the class. The funnest part was after everyone qualified, we would pull out other guns for people to try. It was great seeing people's joy at shooting a suppressed AR for the first time. We kept people on the range for the required time but at least we made it fun.1 point

Just for the record, as an instructor I have had people fail the shooting part. But I’ve had people show up with NIB guns and never fired a gun before.1 point

I appreciate you articulating that you felt I was arrogant and condescending, because I am trying to see how I ruffled the feathers as I have. Maybe I did step in and start speaking from generalizations and people took that personally. That was not my intent. I am just another dude, with an opinion, I apologize if you thought I was trying to do anything more than encourage other gun owners to let their voices be heard. I think what has surprised me is it feels like this thread in someways has made my point with those original overgeneralization. I know the firearm community is a very wisdom rich community, some of the nicest people I know have come from meeting people at gun shows and shooting benches and it bums me out when I watch as the left characterizes us as being a community that is rude, condescending and unable to articulate our position. I know thats not true, but I would be lying if I said, I havent experienced some of those accusations in this thread. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in a way I could respond gregintenn1 point

I extended my offer for a call with Norseman308, he took advantage of that and did call. We discussed a number of issues. He seemed genuinely interested in the topics we hold dear. It is just that he does not have the experience here yet to understand the General Assembly and the judiciary appointed by our transpublican rulers have resulted in supporting the Jim Crow laws on our books to keep us in thrall to government (there are others on this board who are similarly so affected, regardless of time in the saddle in the state). I had a Senator admit this week that the "Intent to go armed" clause on our books is unconstitutional, but he also stated there is no appetite in the Senate to see it changed. That is because the Average Joe is too lazy to ride them all like it needs to be done. If we could get 50 people in each Senatorial District to light their elected Employees up, and talk about it in bars, churches and social gatherings we could change this mess, but till that happens we are dead in the water. Bitching at new guys here is of no benefit, climb up on your horse and get after the Senate of Tennessee.1 point

That response tells me that you are really missing the point, and this makes it even more difficult to extend you the benefit of the doubt. Let me try again. 1.) You say you were invited to participate in a three-day round table event hosted by people who are aligned with gun control agendas. 2.) You haven't said why you were invited. We don't know if it is because of your job as a personal counselor or if the invitation was made to the general public. All we know is that you accepted the offer and participated. 3.) You qualified your Pro 2A stance by letting us know that you are a hunter and even use your AR for that. You have to understand that we've all heard that line from a lot of gun control advocates for... decades... now. We don't know how deep your commitment to the Second Amendment runs. 4.) Your posts so far have contained a lot of the other rhetoric that gun control advocates use: We don't engage them enough. We come across as brash, bombastic assholes. (Guilty) We're entrenched and unwavering, which seems to suggest that we need to negotiate more. 5.) We still have no idea really what you told these people and whether you did more damage than good. Did you sign anything that allows that group to use your name and likeness and words in future marketing materials? Did you tell them what they wanted to hear versus what would have been more representative of the true desires of most gun owners in Tennessee? There is this concept of being a "useful idiot" and, frankly, we want to make sure that isn't what you gave them. 6.) There are signs in what you've said and on your professional websites that suggests you are a transplant to Tennessee. That's fine; a lot of us are. But are you fresh off the boat and overrunning with youthful exuberance, or have you been here long enough to have assimilated into the culture of the people you thought you were representing? As someone who has stressed their qualifications as a mental health professional several times in this thread, I would think that you would understand the psychology of crowds better. Approaching the TGO community a little more carefully on this topic probably would have yielded better results. Instead, you basically showed up to the neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other, clearly the new guy, and told us all you were here to help us do better. Tell me I'm wrong. Anyway, stick around. It's not a bad bar and these aren't bad people. We're all just naturally skeptical.1 point

I never got around to sharing my TGO build. This was my very first AR15 from the old group buy. I just swapped the cheap yet sturdy UTG quad rail for a CMT HDM rail. To be honest I didn't hate the UTG Pro rail, but I felt like the rifle deserved better. It's a TGO CMT upper and lower set, 16" barrel with a Silencerco ASR flash hider, Magpul MOE furniture, AIM surplus BCG, sporting a Vortex 1x6. -southernasylum1 point

The reason I showed up at all was because I have worked as Mental Health Professional for the past decade, and I believed that I had personal experience that needed to be shared. It seems that most of the focus when it comes to gun violence and safety is focused on restriction and banning access to firearms. These are reactionary interventions. What is interesting to me is that over the course of the last 100 years, the Gun Control Lobby has gotten everything they have asked for, and yet, there is no statistical evidence that suggests any of these policies, laws or restrictions had a positive effect. What frustrates me on top of this revelation is the fact that now the Mental Health community is being drug in as the new scapegoat. We are easily the current community that is used as political pawns to further an agenda hell bent on removing constitutional rights from American Citizens, but we as a segment of the population are not actually afforded the resources needed to have healthy sustainable mental health. Case in point. I could have housed every homeless Veteran in this nation, provided them a case manager, therapist and PCP for 10 years with the amount of money we have spent in Ukraine. It is my belief that if this country truly proactively invested in the mental health of this nation we would see a sharp decline in overall self-harm, active psychosis criminal activity, assaults and murder. Instead, the Gun control movement is looking to further ostracize the mental health community by placing arbitrary limits on the people courageous enough to seek help for the mental illness. Just as recent as the special session, SB522 was aiming to place red flag restrictions on individuals prescribed certain anti-anxiety medication. These medications where no where near the level of potency as say anti-psychotics and would have made it highly likely that an individual such as a stay at home mother, or everyday joe would be unable to purchase a firearm or ammo, not to mention the fact a lot of these anti-anxiety medications are prescribed off label for things such as acne and IBS. Do I agree with everything that is on the survey? No, but thats not how the process works, people have a right, even if I disagree to bring their ideas to the table. It doesn't mean I accept those ideas, and I will do everything in my power to lobby against and work for education and dismissal of ideas that will infringe on our individual liberties.1 point
