@ Patrick Henry - I've been on the forum about 10 years. When I question a witness during cross examination, it isn’t to find out what's on his mind. You catch my drift?6 points

Gun Rights and Public Safety in the same sentence is a dog whistle for gun control groups. I’ll pass. I guess I should add, and I expect most here are similar, we would need A LOT more details to even start a discussion. You may have the best of intentions, but color me skeptical.4 points

This is a bridgeport manual milling machine. I moved here about a year ago and I brought this with me from my old shop, but when we set up shop here I ended up getting a new one. Its been sitting about a year (inside, climate controlled) and could use a good cleaning, but its in running condition. This machine is definitely not the prettiest, but its great for the home shop. About 2 years ago I replaced the table bushings and partially rebuilt the head. The table is nice and tight with almost no backlash. The runs smooth and fairly quiet. It comes as pictured. I may have a few collets that can go with it, but I will have to check. This runs on 3 phase power, so you will need a phase converter if you do not have 3 phase. I do not have a great way to load it, so best option is have a drop deck trailer or something where we can just pallet jack it on. I do have a car lift that I have used to load one in the back of a pickup before. If a forklift is needed, I do have a friend locally that we can likely work out a deal to use it. I am looking to sell this for $1500 cash. I would also be open to various trades. Any questions give a shout! I am off exit 311 on 40. (Crossville area).2 points

This was my "red flag" We are entrenched because the anti's are never satisfied with compromise. We are talking about a God given right guaranteed not to be infringed by our constitution. I will not engage further.2 points

I’ve got a bad back, trying to avoid getting fused up. I need to be diligent about my weight as a difference of 15-20 lbs I can feel and I’ve found something that works for me. I’ve done keto on and off for the better part of 6 years. It’s not for everyone, you have to weigh out things in the beginning and it’s boring and restrictive. Basically minimal sugar, alcohol, and gluten gives me less inflammation. If you fast for 48 hours you’re starting ketosis. Once every two months or so I do a three day fast where I just drink coffee water maybe some bone broth or stock and sodium/mag. I plan the days when I have no social commitments and off work. If you’re only trying to hit a number on a scale, you’ll drop 5 lbs in water weight when you go into keto and your glycogen storages empty. If you eat just meat, cheese, leafy greens handfuls of nuts and fruit and can keep your net carbs under 30-50 grams per day for a month you’ll drop 10lbs easily. Once you go back to eating a standard American diet you’ll gain the water weight you lose. Im 6’0, weight has ranged from 160-210. I try to keep it in the 170 -175 range. If I notice I’m getting thin I step on a scale and will increase calories. I’ve been doing it long enough I don’t have to weigh out anything. I also work a labor intensive job and I don’t count calories as I’m on my feet 60 hours a week. I won’t think twice about going to BWW and smashing back a Cobb salad and 30 wings with a couple diet cokes. That being said the diet is boring, i don’t tell anyone I do keto because I don’t want to hear their opinions, and I’ve got a sweet tooth that’s insatiable. Every couple months I’ll take a weekend off for a wedding or holiday and gorge myself, but I feel the inflammation immediately after. You also do a lot more actual working out than I do, but if you stick w it for 30 days you’ll drop 10 lbs and then gain 3-4 back in water weight and just have to count calories in and out. It’s not for everyone, don’t want to sound preachy, I don’t tell anyone anything other than I eat clean and am trying to prolong my back but it works for me to not feel like I’m 90 getting out of bed.2 points

I have rarely heard of anyone ever saying, yea I noticed the signs but didn't say anything. Maybe it's from not wanting to be blamed for not reporting, or from the shame they may feel from not doing so. It is a discussion that needs to be raised, because many of the actions she may have taken beforehand can be attributed to many of us on any given day, such as buying weapons, weapons training, and other tactical behavior. Which is why red-flag laws are so dangerous IMO, it can have disastrous consequences if LEO comes busting down a door in the middle of the night at any security minded person's home.2 points

I looked over the survey and responded to those parts to which I could...which wasn't all that many. There are far too many vague or even meaningless terms used here. And, as is usually the case when surveys ask about red flag laws, this one just wants to know about support for red flag laws, without specifying whether these red flag laws would have adequate safeguards to protect people from being falsely accused and to allow people who are wrongly accused to have their firearms returned promptly. Without those assurances, red flag laws will simply be a tool for harrassment of gun owners. Whisper2 points

I for one, would like more information on the topics discussed during this 3 day summit, the participants involved, why OP was invited or otherwise involved, a copy of the agenda detailing the sessions scheduled and minutes of the discussions. Ya know, basic info.2 points

So I'll be down for some group rides when the weather get's nicer. Bought a 2022 Harley Davidson Fatboy in 2 tone Midnight Crimson and Vivid Black last month. Vance & Hines Eliminator 300 exhaust will be here tomorrow! Maybe it'll sound like a Harley then instead a Honda. LOL I already had the CBR1000RR you see in the back. Mods on that are full titanium Akrapovic header and GP muffler, de-restricted tune by KCS, ram air restrictions removed and Yoshimura fender eliminator. Eventually I'll do the S&S cam Chest kit and might do a full exhaust so the Harley will sound more like this:1 point

I probably had what would later be diagnosed as ADHD. This was in the late 70s/early 80s. My mother asked my doctor about it once and his response was, “All he needs is 10 acres and a 10 foot fence.” Fortunately, she got the point.1 point

I spent more than 30 years teaching in public schools. When I wasn't busy indoctrinating kids in left-wing, communist ideology or teaching my science/math classes, I also coached football. As such, I worked with hundreds of teenage boys over the years. Once ADHD and it's associated diagnoses and prescriptions became a "thing", a pediatrician in town became known as somewhat of a "specialist" in this field. I never knew of a single kid who was evaluated by this lady who was not diagnosed with some form of ADHD and prescribed Ritalin, or whatever drug was most fashionable at the time for their "condition". Normal adolescent behavior, particularly among the males in the school, was routinely being described as "abnormal" resulting in prescriptions being administered indiscriminately. Fortunately, over the years it became increasingly common for parents to reject these diagnoses and refuse to medicate their sons due to this lady's recommendations. It's also worth noting the total dollar revenues of these medications for both the pharmaceutical industry and the doctors prescribing them ...1 point

I actually went ahead and took the survey. Lots of vagueness in the questions and explanations of the questions. The responses here are about what I expected and make me proud to know y’all bunch of extremists. https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2023/10/27/starts-with-us-to-get-feedback-in-tennessee-for-gun-safety-input/71330296007/ To the OP, since you were a participant in this conference, I would like to off a thought. With regard to red flag laws/ERPOs/etc., they’re not an effective band aid, let alone a solution. I’m a hard line opponent of them due to their 4th and 14th Amendment issues. Also, they do little to nothing to actually address the root issues with the dangerous person. Until we can effectively create and fund mental health structures that can force an individual in crisis to receive help, even if they don’t wish it, we will be applying bandaids to sucking chest wounds and wondering why nothings working. You want the support of folks like me, start there.1 point

I have posted this before. When the British marched on Concorde and Lexington, they were after the canon, the powder and the shot(lead). They went to Boston to get the ships that had the Canon and powder and shot on them as well. The British knew that if the common man did not have powder or lead, all he ended up with was having a club to fight with. It will never make it past the courts. Well, unless this country goes to hell in a handbasket, and the Dems hold power for more years than we can think about and appoint a leftest commie Supreme Court.1 point

We wouldn't have situations like this if police weren't allowed to own post-ban machineguns either. Practically every SOT licensee has post-ban full auto blasters because it's fun. I bet less than 10% of them are for demo purposes. Don't get me wrong. I think they and the police should be allowed to have them, but I think we should be allowed to have them too. It's just that we live in this caste-based society where one group of people gets to own something that another group of people can't, and that rubs me the wrong way. #FullysForEveryone1 point

Man, I wish I was home more to add a second pup. My parents may disown me if they had to watch a puppy in addition to my Aussie when I am out of town. Golden's are such great dogs.1 point

The post-recall P320s are fine. That video shown above is clearly the result of something that didn't belong in the holster with the gun. You can see the gun get fully pushed into the holster as the cop bent over, and then BOOM. Here's the deal: Anytime a cop has a negligent discharge, FOP protocol (whether formalized or not) is to blame the gun. That's just how it works. I've got several friends whom I trust who have been through the P320 armorer's course and they all say that there is no way that the P320, post-recall, can fire without the trigger being depressed. Period. My own P320 is carried often and I have close to 3,000 rounds through it at last count. It has never discharged out of battery or unintentionally.1 point
