Hey all, New to this forum so I hope this is the appropriate thread. As the title states I have a Belgium made browning hi power chambered in 9mm. Produced in 1977, comes with original 1x 13 round magazine, browning carry case, and original grips. Pistol is in immaculate condition and looks to be unfired but I cannot confirm that as I bought it from a collector a few months ago. Price is 1700 obo. Located in Knoxville. Again thanks all! willing to trade for nice 1911s, ww2 pistols/rifles4 points

Hello all, PSA... I went fishing a couple of weeks ago and stopped in to the welcome center at Bledsoe Creek State Park to get some info on fishing... Upon entering the building I noticed a No Firearms Permitted sign so I asked about it. She told me, even though it's a state park and CCW is permitted, this state part it's under the authority of the USACE and Open/CCW is not permitted. Can be locked up in car but not on you. I asked her if there is a way to get permissions and she said yes to contact the Nashville branch office and make the request, they only handle requests for the waters under their authority. 2-3 emails later, here's what I know, email your request to their office of your desire to CCW on all land/waters under the authority of USACE, provide a photo copy of front/back of your TN state issued ECP and they will process the request. Once granted (should be several days per the very helpful gentlemen I have been emailing with), a copy must be carried with you at all times, permission is for CCW only, NO open carrying allowed ever, permission is valid for the duration of your state issued permit... All in all, a very good experience even if it seems redundant and a waste of time, but free none the less Good luck Send email request and a copy of your TN State issued ECP (both sides) to: chief.public-affairs@usace.army.mil1 point

I've killed a lot of deer and hogs with 5.56. 62 gr Lehigh controlled chaos and Barnes 62 tsx.1 point

I've shot several deer with 223 because it's what I had at the time. 50gn Noslers will do the job, but it isn't pretty and I don't recommend it. I've used this set up twice, both in the ear, both dropped in their tracks but did a lot of kicking once down. I didn't care for that. I've also taken deer with 62 and 77gn bullets, boiler room shots that did a good job. You mentioned an AR, provided your barrel has a 1:7 or 1:8 twist rate it will generally do better with a heavier bullet. Might try something along the lines of a 69-77gn JSP. In my opinion and experience there is nothing wrong with using a .223 for deer. You shouldn't be taking marginal shots with any caliber and a well placed shot with a .223 will absolutely do the trick.1 point

I don't currently but will. I was lucky enough to pick up 6-8 boxes of Hornady Superperformance for $25/box when I first bought it and have snagged random boxes of CoreLokts and Orange/White boxed Winchesters for cheap from time to time. But yes, could easily become my favorite rifle quickly.1 point

I do not hunt or reload .223 yet. At the speed of a .223 any hollow point is going to be a killer. However because it is small and lite hitting a rib or worse, shoulder blade is going make hitting the heart tough.1 point

I've never considered hunting deer with a .223, but Barnes offers bullets in their Triple Shock series, and Nosler has Partitions in 223.1 point

Most other states don't make it a weapons crime for someone, especially someone with a handgun carry permit, to walk past a 'no gun' sign. Tennessee should at least provide an exception for people with handgun carry permits. No guns signs are treated as a trespass issue in most states. If a property owner sees you with a gun and does not want you there, the property owner must ask you to leave for not following his or her rules. If you do not leave, then that turns into a trespass issue.1 point

Glad the people and the process are good, but that doesnt sound right to me. When the laws were changed both in Tennessee and Nationally, I dont think this was the the intent.1 point

I also think people being disarmed by the business owner should be able to sue if the business owner then does not provide any kind of security. This is just like the liberals trying to simultaneously disarm the citizens and defund the police.1 point

There is a House member who is very desirous of getting that legislation passed. I suspect the house might, the Senate will not pass that, and probably the Governor would not sign it if passed.0 points
