I bought this rifle while ago because I didn’t have one and thought it was cool. I have a weakness for classic deer rifles and wanted a semi auto .308. The problem is I have to many deer rifles and this one will never get used. I am hoping somebody here will be able to put this classic to use. It is a first year from 1961with a 22” barrel. It is good shape with the normal rubs you would expect from an old deer rifle. There is no rust. The scope is an old Leupold in a weaver hinged mount. The scope can rotate to the side if you want to use the iron sights. I have an extra magazine(so a total of 2) that comes with it. $70010 points

Just here to pile on that suspenders are the answer to this. I recently embraced the truth myself, and I now carry much more comfortably than ever before. Also, no more hiking up my pants because I'm asking more than any belt could ever provide.2 points

To be fair, his “yard” was more or less a wreck. The sheep couldn’t have made it worse. I’ve got a client in Texas with sheep that he keeps for the same reason. His grass looks great - but he’s probably on 20 acres and almost certainly seeds regularly.2 points

Hello all, PSA... I went fishing a couple of weeks ago and stopped in to the welcome center at Bledsoe Creek State Park to get some info on fishing... Upon entering the building I noticed a No Firearms Permitted sign so I asked about it. She told me, even though it's a state park and CCW is permitted, this state part it's under the authority of the USACE and Open/CCW is not permitted. Can be locked up in car but not on you. I asked her if there is a way to get permissions and she said yes to contact the Nashville branch office and make the request, they only handle requests for the waters under their authority. 2-3 emails later, here's what I know, email your request to their office of your desire to CCW on all land/waters under the authority of USACE, provide a photo copy of front/back of your TN state issued ECP and they will process the request. Once granted (should be several days per the very helpful gentlemen I have been emailing with), a copy must be carried with you at all times, permission is for CCW only, NO open carrying allowed ever, permission is valid for the duration of your state issued permit... All in all, a very good experience even if it seems redundant and a waste of time, but free none the less Good luck Send email request and a copy of your TN State issued ECP (both sides) to: chief.public-affairs@usace.army.mil1 point

For those around Knoxville this weekend Greek. Fest. Is being held at a Greek church right off Kingston Pike. Bet. you can find some good lamb there. Great desserts to fun event but a lot of people and cars1 point

If you're ever at a steakhouse, scan the menu for lamb. They get fantastic cuts, and they're done really great. I have to think the kitchen realizes they just aren't slinging another the same steaks, and need to be more deliberate...not unlike those that serve venison where you can tell the difference. I was at a business event and found myself in Jean Georges Steakhouse at Aria in Las Vegas. Having the lamb chops with a smoked chill paste was an amazing meal. The chance to have subtle but fantastic differences in flavor profiles opens up with lamb.1 point

I've had the VNSH in my cart twice now and everytime i go to complete the order, a little voice says, "naw!" Not sure if it's their web format or constant barrage of ads but something just ain't right. If you go thru with it, please let us know how goes. Like you, i'm curious but not enough to just add to the pile of flopped holsters. Smoky1 point

This situation is ripe for review under Bruen. It wasn't that long ago that they just outright banned guns. The only reason it is allowed now is due to lawsuits they lost. It seems like under Bruen, there are no analogous historical laws justifying a literal permission slip from one Army guy in order to exercise a right on a piece of land. Although I think the founders would take a dim view of the standing army controlling huge areas of State land.1 point

I killed one a couple of years ago when I caught it trying to drown one of our pet ducks. Figured as might as well cook it up. I read up on how to do so. Cleaning it was easy enough. I boiled the meat, and then fried it like you would most anything else. I took a bite and it was awful, it tasted like garbage. I'd always heard each part of the turtle tastes different so I tried another bite, that one tasted like rotten garbage. I through the rest in the trash and told the wife to pick up some Chik-Fil-A on the way home. I've since been told that you need to catch them live and purge them out for a week or so before killing and cooking. All I know is of all the animals I've killed and cooked, that turtle was by far the worst.1 point

Most other states don't make it a weapons crime for someone, especially someone with a handgun carry permit, to walk past a 'no gun' sign. Tennessee should at least provide an exception for people with handgun carry permits. No guns signs are treated as a trespass issue in most states. If a property owner sees you with a gun and does not want you there, the property owner must ask you to leave for not following his or her rules. If you do not leave, then that turns into a trespass issue.1 point

Glad the people and the process are good, but that doesnt sound right to me. When the laws were changed both in Tennessee and Nationally, I dont think this was the the intent.1 point

So what I am hearing is that thread drift is ultimately why he got banned? You may not want to hear it, but it is a clear and present danger to have an open border, and attacks like what happened in Israel, who has a much more guarded border should make us all want to discuss our own border, not shy away from it. If 1500 terrorists can do that, over a long holiday, imagine what thousands of them could do here. Thousands upon thousands of military aged men have been dispersed all across the US, and many from countries not bordering ours. If this attack is not a wake up call to our own government, whose primary responsibility is our countries security, then I can only surmise that they want it to happen.1 point

We are all entitled to our opinions, you included. No one should be banned for it unless they start getting personal against others IMO. All I am saying is in this scenario I didn't see that. I don't know if he would come back or not, but personally sometimes we can own our mistakes and make them right. I don't expect that is going to happen but felt it was important as a long time member to simply say I didn't agree with how it was handled. Not my site, not my call so it is what it is.1 point

Good to hear you had an enjoyable time at the event, I wish I could've been there myself. Interesting Lt Gov Randy McNally was in attendance since he is anti second amendment from his actions. I guess he's more "pro tax money" than anti 2A.1 point

I was at the Grand opening.....what a great event. Even enjoyed the speeches. Uncle Si with Duck Dynasty gave the invocation. Maryville PD color guard did the honors and National Anthem. Lt. Gov Randy McNally and Rep. Sexton presented as well. Rep Burchett led the pledge. Overall a great event. Multiple vendors were there with good discounts. Many food vendors. Country Music stars and shooting demos. Shot 6 different S&W firearms in their indoor range. Quite an event.1 point

Well, mt first car was a '67 Chevelle SS. Next I had a '70 Chevelle SS 454. After that a real nice '69 Cutlass Supreme. And a sweet '69 Gran Sport. It was an auto, but had all power. Doors, windows, and A/C. It was first car with A/C.1 point
