Hello all, PSA... I went fishing a couple of weeks ago and stopped in to the welcome center at Bledsoe Creek State Park to get some info on fishing... Upon entering the building I noticed a No Firearms Permitted sign so I asked about it. She told me, even though it's a state park and CCW is permitted, this state part it's under the authority of the USACE and Open/CCW is not permitted. Can be locked up in car but not on you. I asked her if there is a way to get permissions and she said yes to contact the Nashville branch office and make the request, they only handle requests for the waters under their authority. 2-3 emails later, here's what I know, email your request to their office of your desire to CCW on all land/waters under the authority of USACE, provide a photo copy of front/back of your TN state issued ECP and they will process the request. Once granted (should be several days per the very helpful gentlemen I have been emailing with), a copy must be carried with you at all times, permission is for CCW only, NO open carrying allowed ever, permission is valid for the duration of your state issued permit... All in all, a very good experience even if it seems redundant and a waste of time, but free none the less Good luck Send email request and a copy of your TN State issued ECP (both sides) to: chief.public-affairs@usace.army.mil2 points

A beautiful and awesome browning BAR. Semi auto 30-06 rifle with a 4+1 capacity. One of the coolest possible deer rifles I could imagine having to be honest. Looking to condense my inventory to 5.56/223 wylde and this one has to go unfortunately. $1000 obo or trade for a fair quality AR, or really nice complete uppers. will especially consider 223 wylde uppers. will come with Nikon buckmaster 4-12x optic and 40 rounds of federal powershok.2 points

While I agree, I'm always afraid that I'll be the exception that gets arrested by an overzealous LEO simply for carrying past the sign. Seems like it shouldnt be that big a deal to simply remove the law or that part of it. When this came up before, some of the state legislators argued that property owners have rights and removing this would take away their rights. I dont agree with that. I mean, they can have the right to ask me to disarm or leave their property and if I refuse, THEN the law could be involved as a trespassing issue. I like to follow the law and laws like this make a lawbreaker of many folks.2 points

The Model 11 Remington is basically the same thing as a Browning Auto-5. Designed by JMB himself, it is recoil operated, not gas, so it’s got some thump to it. It also one of the most naturally pointing shotguns there is, if not the best.2 points

I picked up a new old shotgun at an auction recently and I finally got it from my FFL. It is a 1936 Remington Model 11 Sportsman autoloading shotgun, 16 ga. My FIL had a Browning A5 Sweet 16 at one time, sadly it was stolen. I was out bid on the lever guns I was really after and just following the auction and it popped up. The price was good, even with the buyer's premium. It included a period Lyman Cutts compensator with a full choke end. it also has a vintage rubber slip on recoil pad that was hard as a rock. Also, it will be a sweet mate for the 1936 Remington Model 81 autoloading rifle (.35 rem). They look quite similar. I did my normal teardown and deep cleaning, removed the old recoil pad (to find another underneath). The finish on the stock was meh, with obvious wear under the recoil pad. The forend was in good shape. Both pieces ended up with a deep clean/strip and a hand rubbed Danish oil finish. One of these days I will get it (and all the lever guns) to the range for a day of shooting. These photos are from the auction site: These were taken when I removed the recoil pad: These are after I put it all back together. The stock and forend will still get a few more hand rubbed layers of Danish Oil: The Model 81 for Reference:1 point

I have for sale a Springfield Ronin Lightweight Commander in 45acp. This has the aluminum frame. I have put 2 mags through it and it functioned perfectly. I bought this to use as a base gun to send to either Wilson or Nighthawk for upgrades but have since purchased a Wilson EDC X9 so I am selling it instead. $700 Chattanooga area1 point

"This is one of the National Match pistols that Colt made in the mid 1960's, produced before the Gold Cup markings were added. It has a solid barrel bushing rather than a collet one which was added to later models." From a Lock Stock and Barrel listing of one of their auctions. According to "Colt's Dates of Manufacture" by R.L. Wilson, this pistol was manufactured by Colt in 1967. The gun listed here is no longer completely original. It has the factory slide and frame with the -NM suffix serial number, trigger, internal parts and barrel bushing and comes with the pictured small parts that have been replaced, including the original rear sight. The frame was modified for the beavertail grip safely. An aftermarket barrel has replaced the original. As best I recall; The magazine funnel, mainspring housing, beavertail grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safety are all Wilson parts. The rear sight is Champion, with a serrated blade, front is a Novak fiber optic model, installed by Novak after they dovetailed the slot into the slide. I do not recall who made the G10 grip panels that are on the gun. The hammer was bobbed slightly to clear the beavertail grip safety. Stippling on the front of the grip frame can be removed (peeled off). It is not cut into the metal. I just have it on there for occasional IDPA match use. Magazine release is original, as is the bluing on the entire piece, except for where the gunsmiths touched up the finish where modifications were made. The barrel that was in the gun when I purchased it in 1990 is included. Slide to frame fit remains very tight as it was used regularly in PPC and later in IDPA competition, both with only very light competition loads. It regularly shot Grand Master scores in PPC and Expert in IDPA. The only time it was shot with "major power" loads, while I have owned it, was when I used it in the USPSA Single Stack Nationals in 2010. Funny story ... I was living on the east side of Michigan and was at a gunshow on the west side of Michigan, on a Sunday ... I had wanted one of these National Match Colts since the early 70's when my best friend bought one and took it out often when we went shooting every week ... a guy had this one on his table, priced at $1,000 and said it was on consignment and he couldn't take a penny less. I turned my pockets inside out and showed him that every cent I had with me was $915. He went and called the owner, who said he would take it. And I had to go find an ATM that would accept my bank's ATM card to be able to buy gas to get home. But I've always loved the gun. Later, after shooting PPC for most of a year with a revolver, like everyone seemed to think we were "supposed to", I was getting frustrated with shooting "almost" scores, even with a beautifully custom built Smith and Wesson L frame from the father and son Longs at Pineville Gun Shop, I asked the match director if I could shoot the next match with a 1911 and he said "sure". So the next match I finally shot 97 1/2% of a perfect score and made Grand Master by shooting powder puff loads in this pistol. I'm too old to shoot the pistols much anymore. So I'm selling them off so my wife doesn't have to deal with them like my best friend's wife did. What you see in the pictures is included, all of this and nothing else, except of course that no ammunition is included. It still shoots as accurately and functions as reliably as always. Bring your Tennessee drivers license with your photo and birth date on it. Not interested in trades or lowball offers.1 point

My Grandfather was a big Remington fan. He had a matched set of 12, 16, and 20ga model 11s. I learned to shoot with his Model 12 .22. John Browning learned from his experience with Winchester trying to low-ball him. He sold the rights to manufacture the Automatic Shotgun to Remington, Savage, and FN. And then his brother started Browning Arms distribution in North America! All selling the exact same gun!1 point

Never mind. It’s still available. Seller completely ghosted me. Stopped responding to texts after I told him I would take it.1 point

These are simply amazing! You must shoot one to understand. I can't adequately describe the experience.1 point

Those Upfitter suspenders are nice! I wish they'd been around when I bought 2 pairs of the original Hikers that hook to the button in the front instead. I bet they're even better.1 point

I can’t help you with your question. However, I do have a buddy who is a swamp redneck from FL. He doesn’t go for the head as he claims squirrel brains and eggs sautéed in garlic and butter is a delicacy. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9288058/ - thought he was pulling my leg.1 point

This is the truth. If y’all can’t keep your britches up naturally then suspenders, shoulder holsters, and overalls are basically your choices… in that order.1 point

Kore is a Great belt. Been using them for a while now. Definitely not complaining about belts. Complaining about no butt and big bellies1 point

I am also a large guy with no butt and carrying has always been an issue with me. I dang near cut myself in half trying to carry my XDs with an extra mag. The tighter I made my belt the more uncomfortable I was. Then a friend told me about upfitters suspenders. They are awesome. I wear a core belt with IWB holster w/extra mag and my belt at a very comfortable light tension and do not run around pulling my pants up all the time. Game changer for me.1 point
