  1. *** sold *** Ruger 10/22 with 22 inch sporter weight barrel. Factory iron sights and scope mount. The newly added photo of targets is the accuracy test after bedding the action into the stock. I had bought the rifle in hopes that it would be competitive in Factory class ABRA bench rest matches. Alas, to be sufficiently consistent for competition, all the X's would have to punched at least very near to the center. Sadly, it's close but no cigar. So it will make someone a great plinker at a bargain price for a rifle this accurate. The targets were shot with Norma TAC 22 ammo and the assembly screw torqued to 50 inch lbs., on our club's 50 yard indoor range. Fully bedded with heavy stainless steel pillar, epoxy steel receiver and barrel / receiver joint bedding, original box, magazine and papers. $300.00

  5. Cook played a game of FA and he FO. Colie was in a position of being advanced upon by two people, one of which was significantly larger and acting in a very confusing, undeniably aggressive and abnormal manner. He was retreating and voicing his desire for Cook to stop. Fear and confusion were evident in his voice to me on the tape. I believe the jury made the right decision as Colie was in a position of being on the negative end of a disparity of force equation. His belief of being at risk of great bodily harm or death I view as entirely reasonable.

  11. Republicans will do whatever it takes through their pettiness to ensure another progressive Democrat is elected president, much less get a decent Speaker. As the saying goes, they can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as evidenced in 2020.

  13. I take Branca's "shilling" as marketing. He's got a make a return on his investment. He's not working for free. Are you? Branca does what no one else does. He presents laws, makes an analysis, and offers more and better knowledge of SD laws than anyone else. The majority of his efforts are without cost. His book is available free with only paying shipping charges. I am a member and find that my $10 a month cost is the best money I spend on firearms training. One must train for a SD action with the knowledge of SD laws or all the range and course training with tactics you can still wind up in prison.

  14. There are places where a cash purchase saves big bucks. Countless times when getting a estimate or price for a service or item, I'll ask 'what if I pay cash?' It's rare that I don't get anywhere from 7-15% discount for using greenbacks. Last big job I was told $3700. I got it for $3100 with cash. I always ask for and get a signed paper receipt.

  16. Getting in someone's face with a cell phone does not warrant deadly force. This guy is extremely lucky he was found not guilty. Watching him pop that guy in the stomach was extremely satisfying though. I'm glad he isn't going to prison for that even though I think he made a mistake.

  17. His lawyers have filed a motion that the acquittal on grounds of self defense on the primary charge precludes the guilty verdict on that particular charge. There will be a hearing about having that verdict set aside at a later date. Personally, I hope it goes his way. It’s a good idea to remember that we are able to look at this with the full knowledge of who Cook is. Colie didn’t have that luxury in the moment. An often repeated mantra in the EDC/Self-Defense world is “better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6”. So that’s the situation he’s found himself in, getting judged by 12. It may be a little simplistic, but it’s good to remember that it’s essentially the choice he argued he was making in the moment. I think that the real takeaway for folks here is that you need to have something in your arsenal between a harsh word and a bullet.

  18. I believe the jury got lt right. Each person has different levels of fear. Have that same event happen at midnight in a dark parking lot, what would be the expected results. I also think Cook should be charged. I know if someone is in my face like that, I may get my ass whooped, but they will damn sure know I was there.

  19. Juries are the finders of facts. ACLDN determines whether you followed the 5 Laws of Self Defense. If you did, you're covered. If you didn't you're not. I don't see a problem. ACLDN doesn't say you're guilty. They say you don't qualify under the terms of agreement. That's a big difference. A homeowner's insurance company may find you committed insurance fraud and not pay your claim. If you're prosecuted criminally, the jury will determine if you're lawfully guilty of fraud. An insurance company does not wait until you're convicted of fraud or found not guilty to deny your claim. $150 a year for coverage from ACLDN is not a ton of money. Act within the laws of self-defense and you won't have a problem qualifying for the specified coverage. Act outside the laws of self defense and your claim is justifiably denied. It's really that simple. Perhaps the question you should be asking is do you know the laws of self defense. If you don't and act unlawfully, you won't be covered. Again, that's how it should be.

  23. “Money” is nothing but a concept. A social contract between people in agreement that it has some value. In this day and age there is absolutely nothing to back up that value other than a theory in wide spread practice. For those worried about the man keeping track of your monies, well they already do. They can also seize or freeze it at anytime. Paying cash for everything ain’t gonna get around that.

  24. This isn’t necessarily going to be a comforting answer - but for all intents and purposes - your dollar is already essentially digital in every way that matters. And, for everything anyone in this thread might be worried about - the Fed doesn’t need any new currencies to do any of that. But, on the flip side - I’m not the least bit worried about it. Why? For anyone who’s reading this, the dollar has been the global reserve currency for your more or less your entire life. While we don’t typically go through this exercise on a daily basis - the average American consumer actually benefits from this. A lot actually. There are a lot of countries (the BRICS countries specifically - but some others too) that would love to see that unlinked. This is the kind of thing wars are fought over. The system we have in place right now came into being towards the end of the last really big one. China is working on a digital currency. Their end goal is to replace the dollar. We’re absolutely going to do everything in our power to counter this - including developing our own digital currency. FWIW, when you see a story that’s trying to get you all spooled up about digital currency - and specifically trying to handicap that development - I’d encourage you to ask yourself what the teller’s end goal is. You don’t necessarily have to root for China to root against America - but the outcomes sure look similar.

  26. I have a CZ P-01 with a Baldr Olight with light, laser, or both at the same time. I'm very pleased with it as I usually run just the laser, but happy to have the light when I need it to confirm the target. I also carry a hand flashlight for general searches. I only carry OWB and it works great. Every handgun I buy now must have a rail for a laser/light.
