Hey gang. Welcome back to TGO. There is a lot to cover in this post, so I am going to try to hit things in the order of most important or impacting, to least. Where is my TGO user account? If you created an account on TGO after August 17th you will most likely need to create your account again. We lost almost 30-days worth of data in this crash. What Happened To My Benefactor Account? A lot of my work today has been around connecting Benefactor memberships with those who purchased them. I was successful with most of them, but there are a few of you (less than 10) that I will be reaching out to in email so that we can work together to get you squared away. I am prioritizing this near the top of importance because you guys keep TGO afloat and I will take care of you. I posted something and now it's gone! Anything posted after August 17th is lost. I am very sorry. I suppose the good news is that if you posted something and regretted it, you now have a second chance. This part really sucks and I am absolutely not trying to down-play it. Trust me, however upset you are, I am infinitely more upset. I hope that you'll dive back in and recreate whatever we lost. What happened?!? This is the million dollar question. Our server suffered a catastrophic hardware failure that could not be recovered from. Thankfully we had backups, but I had to go back 30-days in time to find a backup that was viable. This problem had unfortunately been brewing for a while and I did not notice it in time. Prior to today (9/18/23) we were using a different web hosting company. We aren't using them now because I am greatly disappointed in their ability to assist and am livid over the outcome. The best and only way for me to respond was to move TGO to another hosting company who I believe will be much more responsive and responsible. That said, I cannot place full blame on them. Sadly, I missed some signs which were obvious in hindsight so some of this is absolutely my fault. Especially related to backups. I am now making backups of my backups and storing them in several places (online, offline, and in the cloud) so that we have more recovery options if something like this ever happens again. How can we help?? Post, post, post. Dive back in and start using TGO. This will be a scar for a while, but like all scars it will eventually fade. Other than that, there really isn't anything to do. I just noticed [insert problem here]. If you notice anything weird with your account, especially with payments for Benefactor memberships, let me know. I'll sort it out and get you taken care of. That's about it for now. Thanks for your patience while we were offline. I suppose if there is a silver lining to all of this, it has provided a chance to do some things different and better behind the scenes. Hopefully those differences and improvements will equate to odds heavily in our favor for the future. --David18 points

I can only imagine David. And let me say I just alerted every member that text me asking what happened that you got us back up and running. It may have something to do with me never closing my TGO window and constantly refreshing like normal lol.3 points

Seriously good to have everything back. On a side note, I just purchased a Shadow Systems CR920 Combat to replace my P365, very nice firearm, accurate, fits a Glock 43X MOS holster, night sights. 13+1 capacity. Compared to a Glock 43, steel night sights, better grip texture, more capacity, much better trigger (not Walther / HK better, but much better than a Glock). Just a bit bigger than the 365, a little easier to shoot for me. I still have a 365XL which I like better than the 365. YMMV, just my experience with each.2 points

I have a gorgeous 1972 BROWNING HI POWER up for consideration. This gun show signs of honest use but retains the vast majority of the bluing and functions as a 50 year old browning should.1 point

Here I have a 1954 Russian SKS. The gun has all matching parts *EXCEPT* the dust cover and magazine. The magazine works perfectly, never once jammed or miss fed on me. This mag was made in the 90s and from what I read those mags work much better than the newer ones (promag, etc.). The rifle also comes with the original strap, bayonet, and internally stored cleaning kit. With the rifle I am including 800 rds of its 7.62x39 ammo. As seen in the pictures, 500 rds are in the crate and 300 rds are in the boxes. The ammo is the all steel Tulammo. I am now selling everything together for $800. I can meet anywhere in the Cleveland/Chattanooga area. PM me for any questions. Thanks for viewing.1 point

Forwarded to all the legislators I have contact with. We have to be ready in January to get after these culls and take Tennessee back to the promise of our founding documents.1 point

One is from the mid 70’s and is already at $900 before the high buyers premium (28%). The other was on GB. It was really rough. “A gunsmith special”. It needed the wood refinished and there were a couple serious spots of rust on the receiver and barrel, and it needed work on the hammer. The bore was in great shape. I dropped out at $760. The SRC I’m looking at, that sells on October 21 is rough In its own way. Just well worn on the finish.1 point

Well hate the 45-70s went too high. They have been bringing big money lately. I felt I over paid on the last two I bought but have turned down good profit when showing them to friends.1 point

Nice job sir! As someone who has been in IT awhile, I have noticed that the number of organizations who have backups at all, let alone viable backups, is certainly a minority.1 point

Thanks for all the effort David! Not too many people know how stressful catastrophic software failures are for the guys who have to fix them. I really, really, really hate it when I find out my backups have issues to boot. I've already updated a couple of Trading Post topics and left feedback for a couple of members. \Part of me does feel like I looked at the Men In Black memory eraser...1 point

Thanks for looking, any Questions please PM me, if you'd rather have the Std. I have an old office desk that's built like a tank. It is probably 40 years old. Takes 2 people just to move it. I've almost gave it away several times but it is perfect for reloading.1 point

We got several birds this morning and they are fighting big time. Seen 4 in a tizzy at the same time on one of my feeders this morning. Changed out my feed in both feeders this morning. In the past they have been picky just after replacing fresh nectar but not this day. They never missed a feeding. They put on a show at breakfast this morning. One feeder is hanging in the bay window, just outside our breakfast table, so we can get a close-up view of the birds. We got some real small ones which I presume are this year hatchlings. Really enjoy watching them feed.1 point
