So let's go WAY BACK for this one: who remembers Paregoric? The OTC narcotic used for EVERYTHING!4 points
-
The left knows good and well that this probably won't work, much like everything else they're doing. The plan is to attack 2A from every angle and hope some elements stick. It's the only real "assault" in regards to the second. Sadly, it's a brilliant tactic. I have to give them props for being that devious. I wish the right was this passionate about anything.4 points

This was sold before the great server meltdown of '23. Giddy up! Grab this gem and channel your inner cowboy. Just cleaning out some of my safe queens. This has been shot very, very little. I love the color case hardening on the frame. Pictures below should tell you everything you need to know. Comes with the matching box. 50 rounds of 200gr RNFP ammo included. $500 in the greater Mt. Juliet area.3 points

Doing a bit of safe cleaning. For sale is a HK P7 PSP with one magazine. I do not have the box. Overall, in great shape - there is a bit of discoloration on the right hand side cocking serrations. $1600 in the general Mt. Juliet area to any legal TN gun owner.3 points

I have not put as many rounds through my TX Competiton but have had no FTF yet. Using Winchester L R 1280 FPS Velocity 36 Gr Plated H Ps ammo in it and also using the mag loading tool that came with the pistol to load the mags. A little slow but the mags are staggered perfectly after using the loader. Probably 350 rounds at this point. Want to take it out this morning if it doesn't rain. Tried to take the red dot mounting plate off mine, however it has metric screws, and I have misplaced my metric Allen Wrench combo set. Highly like this pistol. It has spurred me to the range 5 times in this hot weather the last 3 weeks, and I am enjoying shooting it. Not to hot this morning. Highly recommend this pistol if you are in the market for a 22 LR pistol. What is not to like about the price! Mine was 269.00 + Tax and Nix check. I think the reg price was 459.00 but Outpost had a good sale on when I purchased the TX Competition.3 points

I am selling my Benelli M1 Super 90 12g that was imported by Heckler and Koch. It is in a great shape and working order with a couple cosmetic marks. It comes with four chokes and a stock shell holder. Price is $900 but I would also consider trading for an Sig P938, a Glock 48 MOS, HK P30, Beretta M9 A3/A4, or a Beretta 92x Compact.2 points

Completely agree. The left blames guns for crime and tries to do something about it. The right blames mental health and that's where it stops. Occasionally i hear them talk about some small level of funding but there's nothing concrete. Nothing actionable.2 points

I don't know who I get mad at more, the left for their crazy attacks or the right and/or pro 2A folks. I hear a lot of talk but very very little action from pro 2A people. Most have a mindset of I'll leave it for somebody else to fight.2 points

A lot of the polling that helped support the special session was done very close to the Covenant shooting. Those feelings have cooled off a good bit for the general public. So, there might not be the support for red flag laws as you might think, and I'm be shocked if assault weapons got serious traction beyond some discussion under formal rules of order. But please remember, those who post here and have feelings like you and I are the underwhelming minority. Even those who aren't ardent anti-gun types likely have no loyalties or sympathies for gun rights, so don't expect them to take up the cause for us. Just have to hope those elected hold a line when it comes time to vote for legislation.2 points

I think they know how effective it will be. And they probably believe enough people will comply for the risk/reward result if nothing else to call it a win. But they also understand others won't. So, that just becomes a tack-on charge that can convict someone if you don't think a jury would agree to something else. Federal prosecutors love to have a stack of charges to pile on, especially sticky ones that still have real teeth to entice a plea.2 points

Hey I wanted to jump back in here and give you another example of where some of that data comes from. I have a neighbor lady who is retired, and has health problems so is primarily home bound. So she has a lotta xtra time on her hands. Somehow or another, she got hooked up with some online company that PAYS her to take surveys. According to her description, they're usually 5-20 questions on wildly varying topics and she'll get paid $5-10 per survey. She said that every once in a while she'll get one that might be a few pages long and they'll pay her $20. Now this is conjecture on my part, but I expect that the company then compiles the data and sells it to the highest bidder. What are the implications of this? Well one is that if I wanna pass some kinda rule/law, I can call this company up and buy pre-compiled data. With not a damn clue who took that survey ... but it's irrelevant. 80% of the people in this survey want RFL's! (See ... easy peasy!) If I wanted it to say that 80% DON'T want RFL's, and I'm the company with the data, I can change which surveys are included in said data. It's all a big scam folks. <\TinfoilTighterStill>2 points

Wise As a friend once stated to me ... "Anytime someone uses a percentage, they are hiding the real numbers." And IME, this will almost always be true. (Regardless of the context.) example .... My gross income was 75% above last year's. This could be awesome if last year's was 6+ figures. But what if it was $999.00? (Not so awesome) And what if it took 98% of that 75% increase to meet demand? It's all about data manipulation.2 points

Anything I do nowadays concerning technology I do so assuming it will be filed away in a server somewhere ready to be used against me in the future. I think that should be SOP if you use anything attached to the net. My comments were directed more toward the politicians wanting to commit political suicide and less about the legal standing of that law, or lack thereof. I was just curious to see the demographics of the comments being left to see if they are split where I think they are OR if they are as my local hoghead liberal politician stated "80% of the states population wants RFL" . They love to take polls outside welfare offices and disability claims centers and then report back how outraged and fed up the population is with a BIG % supporting their findings. Edited to add, It's worth noting as of this morning the local news is reporting Lee doesn't have the votes or support to get any traction on a RFL. Even LT. Gov McNally said he doubts it will even be mentioned during this special session. Which begs the question of why they are having it to begin with.2 points

My first gun was a Stevens single shot 410 shotgun. Got it in 1956 for my 8th birthday. Went to a pool room in Mount Sterling KY, and my dad bargained with the owner, who dealt in used guns, for the little single shot. I must have killed thousands of small games with that shotgun. I had a man who owned a small market who loved wild game. He gave me 50 cents and a shell for every squirrel or rabbit I would bring him. I didn't need to even field dress them. He kept me in money for several years in the fall. I would hunt before school and after whenever the season was open. Limit was 8 per day and I took him limits often. He had a deepfreeze and ate on them all year. The price he paid me was big money in the 50's. I just gave the little Stevens to my 15 YO grandson who I know will cherish it. Told him about the history behind the gun. He couldn't believe how old it is. He calls it his squirrel gun and has taken several. Even took some swamp rabbits in S Carolina. Fond, FOND memories.2 points

The gun was made in 2019 according to the stamp on the slide. It has less than a thousand rounds through it. I replaced the stock grips with g10 grips. I replaced the stock sights with Dawson Precision fiber sights. Otherwise the gun is stock. It comes with 4 magazines. The two with the gun were stamped ,40 cal and I bought two additional mecgar mags. I also got a kydex iwb holster for it. I would consider trades for pistols in .40 S&W. I am firm on the price and will want to see a TN DL or CC permit before purchase. I can meet in the Knoxville area. PM me if you are interested or have questions.1 point

Stainless Colt Government model, .45 ACP Series 80. Serial number dates to 2005. Includes 2 magazines, box and manual. Has Pachmayr grips installed; I do not have the original grips. I have not fired this weapon, although I am not the first owner. There are a few small rubs on the finish from spending its life in a plastic case. Otherwise, no significant blemishes or flaws that I see. Asking $950 —> $900 obo. Would be open to trades for Colt or S&W revolvers in excellent condition, plus cash either way. Prefer stainless, short barreled revolvers. I’m in the Franklin area. Please PM with any questions.1 point

A few minor nicks from deployment use and marks from scope rings. illumination is very strong but difficult to capture via photos. 1.5-5X 20MM, M2 TURRETS, 5.56 NATO / 62-GR CALIBRATION, ILLUMINATED SPR RETICLE, 30MM MAIN BODY TUBE, ADJUSTABLE EYE PIECE, MATTE FINISH More Scopes than rifles so letting this one go. $7001 point

I picked up my TX 22 Compact on July 7th, ordered through Range USA, Took it inside the indoor range, removed the slide and inspected it, put a bit of Lucas Lube on the rails. I shot 150 rounds of various .22 ammo through it. CCI Minimags, Federal bulk, Remington bulk, Federal Spitfire and CCI Stingers. 100% feed and ignition. Great ergonomics and a surprisingly nice trigger. I was impressed. My old eyes were challenged with the factory sights, so I ordered a Holosun 407K for it and two 16 round magazines. A couple of additional range trips after putting some orange paint on the front sight with a total of 1000 rounds through it. I had one FTF out of a box of 50 Federal Punch. But Caleb Giddings, marketing manager from Taurus, warned this round may have difficulty related to the rather flat bullet profile. I did have 4 Failure to Fire rounds out of the same box 325 rounds of 2008 Federal Automatch at this point. I mounted the 407 on 13 July. Really easy mounting, effortless. It only took 12 rounds to have it zeroed at 15 yards. I like the 6 MOA dot and the window size is decent. No co-wittiness with the factory sights of course. Oh, I also purchased 2 of the 16 round mags and they run great. As I type this I have a total of 1200+ rounds through it. So 5 Fail to Fire and 1 FTF. To me, that's pretty darn impressive for a .22 RF semiauto. An extra bonus is that it fits the Dale Fricke Archangel holster I use for AIWB carry for my G19. Thanks for the insight and input on this thread. And the TX series is made to be dry fired by Taurus,1 point

Same. No kids and not married (yet). It's really more of an issue that I have more guns than I could ever train on effectively. I love my collection but I'm sitting on resources when I need a certain amount of cash flow to dig myself out of a hole (last year was expensive: dog got sick, I got sick, we needed a new A/C unit...just "life"). I don't like the idea of liquidating my assets because I'll probably miss them in a few years but at my current rate of pay, I'd have to dip pretty deep into my emergency fund to get air at the surface. Trust me, I like the idea of having two FALs, two OA-93s, two sequential serial number Beretta TX4 Storms, and two SPAS-12s, but what good are they doing just sitting in darkness? Accruing value? Yeah sure, but once you factor in the rate of inflation, it's not as dramatic as the raw numbers make it seem. Think about what $3K could've bought you a few years ago vs. what $3K could buy you NOW. Crank it up to $6K and think about what that could buy you now vs. what $3K could buy you a few years ago. I wish I could say that guns were a solid investment but they're not the end-all-be-all of interest-gathering resources. But they are cool, they are meaningful, they are useful, and they lend some serious street cred and bragging rights. I don't know anyone who has two SPAS-12s. And that's cool. But at what cost? Life is a game of breaths and inches.1 point
