  1. Might as well start one of these threads. Here's mine. I had a Holosun 508T-X2-GR green dot optic and a spare Streamlight TLR7A weapon light lying around, so onto the Echelon they went. INITIAL IMPRESSIONS... I have not yet had a chance to fire it but hope to be able to do so tomorrow. At this point, dry fire practice is all that I have with it. Even still, I am greatly impressed by the way the gun feels in the hand and really hope that Springfield releases a Glock 19 sized variant, since this one is identical in size to the Glock 17. The ergonomics are superb. The grip texture is essentially what all of you Hellcat owners have been enjoying since that model was released. The texture uses an interesting design where there are taller "granules" that provide the initial bit of traction, and then shorter granules beneath them that you add more traction as you apply greater grip pressure. This keeps the texture from being rough against the skin like some guns are [I'm looking at you here, Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0] but gives you more traction when you need it. I dig it. The trigger is excellent. Glock snobs will love it and also hate the fact that the factory Glock trigger doesn't feel as good. There is a moderate amount of pre-travel, a crisp wall, and a very short reset with strong tactile feedback. The Sig P320 doesn't have anything that feels like this. If the P320 trigger drives you crazy, this is your jam. If you like the P320 trigger, you might not care for this one. The front cocking serrations on the slide are executed better than any I've seen yet. I really like the "trench" design wherein the scallop of the serrations goes slightly deeper into the slide toward the ejection port. This will help prevent your hand from slipping off of them as you use the front serrations for a press check or to completely cycle the slide. Very well done. While running an optic makes the cocking "wings" on the trailing edge of the slide unnecessary, I really do like that they are there for aesthetics, and for functionality if you prefer to run iron sights sans an optic. They took what Heckler & Koch started with the funky ears on the VP9 slide and made it more practical and more durable. I bought this thing just to see what the hype was about and really had no intention of carrying it, but... damned if I might not just do that. If the gun shoots as good as it feels, and as good as everyone says it does, then this thing might end up going places. With me. Literally.

  2. I’m looking for a Marlin 444 lever action. Preferably a first generation (1965-1971) but let me know what you have. If I was going to be very picky, then an early 1969 from New Haven (with the serial number on the bottom tang). Let me know what you have in the back of the safe. However, it doesn’t need to be a “Safe Queen”. Some character marks are fine and poor finish on the wood doesn’t bother me. Found one

  3. Here is a big reason for this problem. There are no consequences for breaking the law anymore. Maybe a slap on the wrist.

  4. This is an unfired Auto Ordnance 1911A1 case hardened (1911GCH). I put black alligator skin grips on it, it comes with the original wood grips as well and has 1 magazine. I thought I wanted a BBQ gun but have changed my mind as I keep going back to my Ithica M1911 or one of 6” 1911s as my carry pistol. Looking for $1100. Keeping the gator grips, pistols will be sold with factory wood grips. Looking to keep it close to Clarksville as my 3 jobs keep me occupied 6 days a week. May be interested in trades, I mostly like 1911s and revolvers in 357 but will entertain others. Cash can go either way for the right deal. I’m not interested in polymer pistols or AR/AK platforms.

  12. Going ok. Wife and I are over Covid. I started cardiac PT (39 sessions, 2 down). Doctor changed one of my medicines and crashed my blood pressure and I had to skip one PT sessions. He says I will get use to it in a day or so and stay with it. Seems like most of this past week was doctor visits, tests an PT. Thought I would be further along but the doctors say I'm doing good. Got to move from the back seat (air bags bad for chest). Another week till I can drive. probably a month or more till back to pre surgery level. Thanks of asking.

  17. Having moved from the west a few years ago there are some things. Lack of public land. There is no millions of acres of BLM or FS land you can wonder on for days. Most hunting is done on private land. If you don't buy some acerage, you might have a difficult time. It is crowded. The days of spending days in the wilderness and not ever seeing another person are long gone here. Deer hunting is stupid easy. At least where I live (north central) I can't go start my car in the morning without shoving deer out of the way. You may be used to planning your deer hunting trip all year, take 2 weeks off work. Go set up camp for opening day, spend all that time in the wilderness to get your one lucky shot to fill your one-deer-a-year mule tag. In TN, it's not like that. You can shoot like 4 a does a day and they are much smaller white tail deer so filling the freezer, if that is your goal, is as simple as walking out on the back porch and nailing one, hang it, butcher it and be done. Kinda takes the fun out in my experience. License, this is the neat thing. If you are on your property, no license or tag required. Simply check the season dates in your area and have at it. No need to buy anything other than ammo. Lesson here is buy as much land as you can. There are places like LBL and Fort Campbell in my area where you can get on public land but there are restrictions to short range, muzzle loader, archery and the like and there will be other people around. Sometimes, lots of people around. Tennessee is not as gun friendly as others would have you believe. You wonder into any metro area with a gun in your back window, expect to have a talk with the local police. Nothing like living in the west at all where that won't even get a second glance. Range time. Like hunting, there is no going off on some corner of public land and shooting. This will also be met by local police/Sheriff with a frown on thier face. I know this one first hand. Again, buy a large chunk of land off in the county away from any metro and choose one with good back stops. Distance shooting. There are no 300-500 yard deer shots here. The forrest is too thick. I have never shot a deer past 75 yards since I have been here. There will be no need for a scoped belted magnum. Your experience may vary, but this has been mine. That said, I do like it here much better than the high plains desert of the west but set your self up in your plans and property searching.

  18. MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) – Raccoons don’t normally have stripes, unless they happen to die on the streets of Memphis. A driver on his way to work Wednesday morning had to do a double-take after seeing a dead raccoon in the road that had been painted over by city road crew — with a solid white line bisecting its carcass. When asked how something like this may have happened, a spokesperson for the City of Memphis only said that the city planned to remove the deceased raccoon.

  19. Well I got a normal response and I informed them that I voided the warranty. LOL It also went from 0 to 3. "Good afternoon I do apologize for my counter part. The P365 is a Micro compact, by going to a normal compact or sub-compact he is saying to go one size larger or 2 size larger. The reason he did that, was in our reports the only people whom have mentioned the trigger pinching their finger is Larger sized men whom have X large or bigger hands or really well aged people whom have softer hands. Which in all has been a total of 3 people that I know of since its release. If you are not experiencing this issue with an XDM (Compact) then it would seem 2 sizes larger may be the way to go for you. I will push this on to our engineers for them to look at and to keep track of incase there is a rise of pinching on the trigger. If you plan to modify the trigger to suit your need that is fine. You have purchased it and you should make any adjustments you feel necesary. With that in mind. I do have to mention once you modify the trigger it will no longer be covered under our warranty. "

  20. Be Aware: An organization based out of Ohio has initiated a fear-based money grabbing campaign in the state of Tennessee, using the attached mailing, under the auspices of resisting Governor Bill Lee's Red Flag laws and is misleading the public by using the Tennessee Gun Owners name as their own. THEY ARE NOT US. We take offense at this and are investigating our legal options for shutting that entity down. In the meantime, please understand that TGO is not a lobbying organization and has never advertised itself as such. Any email or letter that you receive from someone purporting to be "Tennessee Gun Owners" and asking you to financially support their activism efforts is not us. They do not represent us, and we absolutely do not endorse them. John Harris, executive director at the Tennessee Firearms Association summarized the activities of these carpetbaggers best: If you are interested in supporting a legitimate ally of the Second Amendment with effective Pro-2A activism in Tennessee, we heartily endorse and recommend the Tennessee Firearms Association.
