This is one of those instances where I think many folks have a problem with looking at, and analyzing things in an honest manner. They always want to find a singular person to blame for the entirety of the situation. The reality is the guy who ran and the k9 officer were both wrong in their actions. The actions of either is neither excused nor justified by the actions of the other. Each must be investigated, charged, and prosecuted where appropriate independently and in isolation of the other5 points

But you know the narrative that will be floated…black guy gets attacked by police k9 for having a missing mud flap, NOT the fact that he ran from police both in his vehicle and on foot. Not saying he deserved to get bit after surrendering, but am say that none of it would have happened had he not ran.3 points

1958 Winchester model 94 30-30 with sidemounted scope. Receiver is not drilled, mount uses existing holes. Some rust blotching on the receiver, barrel bluing is pretty nice. Nice walnut but marred. Good bore. Fun shooter, nostalgic deer hunts or great candidate for an overhaul to make pretty again. Looks pretty darn good for a 65-year-old rifle. $750 firm FTF Murfreesboro2 points

It is true that I can do anything I put my mind to. There’s just less that I tend to put my mind to.2 points

I hear ya Pop Pop. Thankfully I can still do most anything I put my mind to. It just takes a whole lot longer. But then sometimes I'll think "I'll just do this thing." and my body says "Like Hell you will!" I seem to be falling apart one piece at a time. Recently found out my gall bladder is full of rocks. I have an appointment with a surgeon next Monday. Yep, gettin' old sucks. But I guess it beats the alternative.2 points

Take it easy and heal up. That takes longer for us ‘mature’ folks now. I have a hard time not trying to do what I used to be able to do. For a while I used to say I can still do all the stuff I used to do, it just hurts more now. Now I’m recognizing that I just can’t do it anymore.2 points

I love my surface pro. You should check with the UPS manufacturer, many have warranties to cover equipment connected to their UPS. Sorry you had to go through that but glad your insurance is covering at least some of that.2 points

I had a bad day yesterday. I face planted on a rough piece of ground. I was helping put out a round bale of hay on my daughter's horse farm. As I went through the gate, afterwards, one of the horses (Tootsie) was getting past me. I quickly rose off the seat and went off my daughter's John Deer. I usually back off and use the hand holds to get down, however decided to jump down. Well, my knees gave way, and as I went to step off, I face planted on a rough rutted driveway. Paying a price for that today. I ach all over. I hit face down and drove my for-head into the dirt. It almost knocked me out. I have a sore neck, a large cherry across my forehead, and both cheeks, my right hand really hurts, I cut up my left arm and am bruised badly. To top it off, I have a Dr (Physical) visit on Thursday. My Dr always asked if I am falling. Well, can't get out of that one this time. They always ask "old people" that question I have discovered. I am laid up today and doing a little hunting (Outdoor Channel) from "Big Read" (my electric Lazy-Boy) whom I am in love with. My wife purchased it for me when I had bypass, because I couldn't raise up from a lying position for a few weeks. I guess you win some, and loose some. I could have jumped on that tractor 40 years ago. Thats long gone, guys. Hope you guys have a good day. Sorry and Sore IN Lascassas.1 point

Once more time. Early this afternoon we had yet another quick, but hard storm passed through. And for the third time in 2 weeks my power went out. 7 hours this time. And yet again, I had to drag out the generator and run a bunch of cords to keep the fridge. freezer and a few other things running. Just this morning I sent my County Commissioner an e-mail asking about the problem and if anything could be done? He replied quickly and let me know that my city was having a public forum with MLG&W at 5:00pm today just to discuss this problem. But I missed it! Ya know why? I didn't get to read the e-mail until after 9:00pm because my power was out! As an added bonus, this time the outage messed up my computer. Seems it got tired of these sudden unexpected shutdowns and wouldn't restart. Thankfully, my oldest son is an IT guy. He came over and got it running again. Sorry for the rant, but this crap is getting on my very last nerve.1 point

Because those big tires pick up all kinds of crap off the road and throw it at vehicles behind them. Lots of damage and plenty of wrecks have been caused by this. It may seem small, but its actually a major safety issue. Just my 2 cents: the driver had surrendered, hands up and co-operating. Dog was not needed. Driver is gonna be rich.1 point

I think this kid (above) is sporting a drawn on mustache. That cracks me up. But if you are going to be a "gunman" ya gotta look the part. Well done ;o)1 point

You are probably better off buying a new or used 92 and installing the Langdon "trigger job in a bag" . I have a PX4 and that is what I did. It is now my favorite pistol ! the double action is crazy ! It is very controlable and easy to shoot.1 point

When you drive a CMV, DOT can pull you over at any time for any or no reason at all and perform a roadside inspection. It isn’t like someone in their POV. Totally different rule set for CMVs. That mud flap is a violation in and of itself. That kind of thing is also generally a red flag that more violations are likely to be found because it’s the sort of thing that should be found and corrected during the legally mandated pre-trip inspection.1 point

I'm assuming the K9 officer was local PD, not a State Trooper. If so, the K9 officer decides if the dog should be used, not another LEO from another agency, right? I think the same way. If you run from the cops twice, I have a hard time feeling sorry for you if you get bit by a K9, let alone getting paid for it.1 point

I'm finally realizing that my body is breaking down to protect me from what my mind tells me it can still do. I definitely can't run, or hang rafters anymore says my body...... or can I says my head.1 point

Yes I saw that the other day and had a hard time understanding why he released the dog. Is it possible he misheard the one cop repeatedly saying don’t release the k9? Many dudes are edited out to only show a narrative, but this one seemed to show the whole picture. I see no valid reason why he released the dog. Unless the dog just got loose. I know the guy refused to stop his truck, then once stopped, took off again, only stopping the final time because of spike strips. I’m sure some if the cops were mad at him, but the days of roughing up the bad guys just because they pissed you off are gone. There’s rarely a time when something isn’t being recorded. I think this dept will be settling a lawsuit.1 point

My first gun was a Stevens single shot 410 shotgun. Got it in 1956 for my 8th birthday. Went to a pool room in Mount Sterling KY, and my dad bargained with the owner, who dealt in used guns, for the little single shot. I must have killed thousands of small games with that shotgun. I had a man who owned a small market who loved wild game. He gave me 50 cents and a shell for every squirrel or rabbit I would bring him. I didn't need to even field dress them. He kept me in money for several years in the fall. I would hunt before school and after whenever the season was open. Limit was 8 per day and I took him limits often. He had a deepfreeze and ate on them all year. The price he paid me was big money in the 50's. I just gave the little Stevens to my 15 YO grandson who I know will cherish it. Told him about the history behind the gun. He couldn't believe how old it is. He calls it his squirrel gun and has taken several. Even took some swamp rabbits in S Carolina. Fond, FOND memories.1 point

I can't recommend the Hobie enough. Their Mirage drive is better than any system on the market. I actually like their older Turbo GT model without reverse the best. It's a couple hundred dollars cheaper - and gives a little more speed. It's a great workout. In that same class boat - you might consider the Hobie Passport as well. It doesn't have all the same fishing features the Compass does - Lowrance mount, rod holders, etc - but it's typically about $600 less retail. It comes with the traditional GT fins instead of the popup 360 fins. I think both have the same seat - which is something Hobie does well.1 point

She couldn't get it to run, and it's been sent back to FN. Not an encouraging beginning. I'll report back when I learn more.1 point

The house could have prob if it weren't raining. The smoldering came from a light fixture. Two separate claims. One for auto, the other for home. Everything has been submitted to the claim adjusters. Got to wait on them. Not sure how the coverage will work with contents. Think they are prorated which sux. My one Sony Bravia 65" was about $3.5K.... Laptop too. was about $3.2K......... I think they go by how old it is and what life it would have left. I call bs on that one. It's not wear and tear. A new one would not survive no more than an older one. I can say this about computer data. By all means! Backup your data off site. We use Carbonite and it saved my bacon several times. Got me a new bottle of Jack just in case the news is not good. But I really need a new laptop. I'm working 0ff a Surface Pro right now and imho is not rigged for heavy use. Ugh1 point
