I've had an interest in the Browning Hi-Power for a long, long time. However, all the of the "real" HP's that I've fired in the past have left me with a bleeding hole in the thumb web of my right hand - so I never purchased one, even when "the price was right." I didn't see the point in owning and/or trying to shoot a handgun that I knew was gonna bite me! Enter the SA-35. I'd read good reviews and even had my name on a couple of waiting lists when the pistol was first released. So it was the ole hurry up and wait - and wait - and wait some more. Well, one finally showed up at my favorite toy store, so I had to go check it out. Overall fit & finish was good, but only one magazine (but that seems to be the current trend). In any case, it appeared that I "should" be able to shoot this one and not spill any blood. Closed the deal and took her home - that was this past Friday. I packed the SA-35 up (along with my Sig 226), four different boxes of ammo, and headed to MSSA for some range time and familiarization with my new bullet launcher. Loaded a magazine with ten (it'll hold 15, but 10 was enough to get started) IMI 115 HP's and proceeded to tear up the X-ring at 7-1/2 tards and no blood was shed! I was impressed and very happy! I fired a total of 50 rounds from four different boxes of ammo (two with 115 gr. bullets and two with 124 gr. bullets) and nary a hitch or hic-cup. I am beyond pleased with Springfield's rendition on John M. Browning's last designed pistol. This pistol, for me, was well worth the wait! Oh, and the Sig 226? One of the members on here told me a few months after the launch that they saw one in Murfreesboro. I called, placed it on hold and jumped in the truck. It is a great handgun and I love shooting it.

I would love to see this guy debate Trump. Two dudes just slinging lie after lie and talking over each other. They actually have some similarities with each one loving to make bold claims without any proof. RFK went on Joe Rogan and claimed wi-fi is causing brain cancer. When pressed for details he couldn't provide them. Interesting times we live in. Feels more like Idiocracy every day.

Karl built this for me in 2005. If you're not familiar with Karl's work, he is one of the longest serving ABS journeymen Smiths working in America today. His work has featured many times in Blade magazine (iirc, he's had 4 front covers) & is absolutely ground breaking. He pioneered & popularized the take down system, now copied by many others. It features a simple 1095 blade, differentially heat treated, with a beautiful hamon that clearly shows the carbon migration. Hot blued single finger guard & take down nut, with stainless liner. The handle is exhibition grade desert ironwood, polished to a warm, dull & incredibly smooth sheen. I'm asking $500 dead firm for the knife, as I need to raise some funds, pronto. It has never cut a single thing & retains the original edge (which you could happily wet shave your marbles with ) It come with a sturdy, waxed leather sheath, takedown tool & (if I can remember where the hell I put it....) certificate of authenticity. I thought I'd show off some work that I had done to a spare grip module for my Staccato C2. A gentleman named Zach, who posts as "Grip-It-Customs_" on Instagram (do note the trailing underscore in his name) did this for me last week and I couldn't be happier. Not only is the texture that he laid down perfect for EDC use, but a byproduct of removing the factory grip texture is that the overall circumference of the grip is slightly reduced. Since I'm a size-medium glove wearer, this translates into making the gun really fit my hand better than it already did. And for comparison, this is an old photo of what the gun comes with from the factory... I really couldn't be happier. And since the grip modules on these, while not exactly inexpensive, are replaceable it's not like I have permanently altered the gun in any way. Anyway, I feel like this is an example of plastic surgery gone RIGHT. Lord knows we've seen some stipple jobs on TGO that, no offense meant to the owners of those guns, looked like someone's dog had chewed on them for a few hours.

Like new Staccato 2011 their newest model the CS. Comes with the flat trigger and carry size sights. Includes everything from the factory and has a Holosun 407k red dot mounted. He was as nice in person as he seemed in TV. We built some software for him 20 or so years ago and really enjoyed working with him.

I absolutely have no justification to purchase yet another handgun--but I will pick one of these up in the near future. A Hi-Power has been on my bucket list for many years so that is all the justification I need!!!

Im right behind you! I keep looking at the guns on here and elsewhere and want to buy, but then I think, Im on the verge of retirement, do i really Need another gun, lol. So far, I do still buy the latest tech like phones/watches and ipads, as I know that once I do retire, i wont be able to do that. I really have more guns than I can shoot right now, and I also know that if the apocalypse hits, i wont survive very long without my meds anyway.

I'm going though the (glacial) process of getting a rebate from Winchester on an ammo purchase. Figured I'd pass along some tips I've gleaned for any others who might be going through the same process. - Before starting the process, weigh the amount of the rebate vs. the time, effort, and money you'll spend getting it. The juice isn't always worth the squeeze. - If you bought a full case of ammo, see if they'll accept the case's UPC bar code instead of the UPCs from each individual box. Sometimes it's yes, sometimes it's no. You might be in for an evening of slicing up lots of boxes. - Take a photo of everything before you stick it in an envelope. It'll be a lifesaver if the rebate arrives damaged or missing something on the other end. Plus it'll help jog your memory if everything was done correctly after waiting for weeks on end. - Spend a little extra and send the envelope with a tracking number so you'll have proof of delivery and a date to go with it. If using the post office, go inside and hand it to a teller. The thickness caused by a bunch of UPC codes can sometimes cause issues; usually it's just cost a little more for postage, but it never hurts to ask. Licking a stamp and tossing it into the outgoing mail is no guarantee of success. - You can check the status of your rebate here: https://winchester.com/Support/Customers/Winchester-Rebate-Status. Click on the black box that reads, "Check your rebate status". - Be patient. It can take weeks or months to work through the system. For example, I purchased my ammo on 5-30, mailed the rebate on 6-7, delivered on 6-9, appeared on the rebate status page on 6-21, and a month later I'm still waiting. - If you think something got messed up and want to talk with a human, call Repco Logistics in St. Louis, MO. They're the company that processes the rebates for Winchester. The general number is 314-426-1800. I called them today and was pleasantly surprised. There was no phone tree! The first person I talked to was Kristen, and she was very helpful. After taking my name & confirming my city, she was able to give me the status of my rebate and tell me an estimate of when to expect the rebate card in the mail.

Thanks, Skyhunter for your thoughts on the SA 35. I've been screaming that I would purchase one asap. lol. Well, I ran across one recently, but had to pass it by...for now. Being old, retired, and no play money left; I had to pass on this one. (I had just bouth another Walther. LOL.) So I made the very hard decision to wait. Trying to not use CC and remove them from my life right now. Anyway, I agree with your physical assessment of the pistol. A big hesitation came while I was fondling the SA35...it sure does look and feel like a CZ75! In fact, I was having flashbacks to my range time with the 75! Yes similar, but I probably will not let that little detail stop me in the future! I imagine it would shoot and handle every bit as good as the CZ. So glad you gave in, and appreciate your comments.

Probably not, but the TS2O is a lot more expensive. A quick glance at GB has Rival-S guns for $1300 or so. Back in the spring, they were $900 locally. At $900 I would grab one, but $1300 is too much.

RFK Jr is not irrelevant. He can easily become the nominee by those progressives who see Biden as a stumbling, bumbling fool unlikely to be re-elected. Kamala Harris is also viewed as a liability. RFK Jr, a political progressive who has stated that those who deny climate change should be locked up, meets the credentials that progressives (Democrats) yearn for. Progressives know that Biden is toast. RFK Jr. meets the progressive agenda, has the Hollywood/California influence and money, the Kennedy name, and since he can walk and talk coherently unlike Biden, can capture the nomination. Progressives do something that Republicans don't. They don't hold public pissing contests among their candidates. Republicans continue to shoot themselves and each other in the foot until they're all lame. Never underestimate progressives or the ability of Republicans to be petty and foolish.

Great thread! I and my bride (RIP) are from SW MS. All of our "people" are from the "Free State of Jones" , Cornbread has always been a staple in our house. I'm 69 and was given a cast iron cornbread skillet by my father that he said he'd had since he was 8 years old. That would have been 1936. My Mother was a terrible cook! Loved her, but she lacked skill. WTH? My Mother in law (Winnie Sue), as was Rhonda (my Bride), were/are great cooks. I learned from the best. I'm gonna list our family's standard cornbread recipe and our "Mexican cornbread" recipe below. The real key is preheating the cast iron skillet. The initial pour will rise and start browning as you pour. That's when you know you're doing it right. FWIW we use Martha White SR flour and SR Cornmeal. We, the People of the Free State of Jones, believe recipes are merely suggestions and open to experimentation and tweaking to suit your taste buds. At least that's my excuse in case I forget something that isn't critical. Winnie Sue's Cornbread Preheat oven to 350 degrees with greased skillet in the oven, 30 minutes. Mix in large bowl: 2 cups SR cornmeal 1 cup SR flour 2 eggs I put 2 tablespoons of sugar in it 'cause I can! Enough buttermilk to thin. That'd be a bit less than a pint. We really don't do exact measurements back home LOL Bake for 35-40 minutes, depending on your oven. As soon as you remove the baked cornbread from the oven, turn it onto a plate...otherwise the castiron skillet will overcook it. I make Hamburger soup or French Market soup at least once a month. It would be sacrilege to eat either without Winnie Sue's cornbread! I'd lose my "Southern Card" for certain! "Mama’s Mexican Cornbread" Winnie Sue Brown one (1) pound of lean ground beef with a cut up onion – Drain Mix the cornmeal batter: 2 cups of self rising cornmeal 1 cup of self rising flour 2 eggs 2 tlbs “Wesson” oil Jalapeños to taste… make it real tasty. If you don't sweat a little under your eyes you aren't adding enough peppers. Open can of cream style corn and pour 1/2 into batter mix Add buttermilk to right consistency. It doesn't take much due to the liquid in the cream style corn...beware! Grease pan...preheat as above. 30 minutes. Pour ½ batter in the hot greased pan/skillet Layer with shredded cheese Add ground beef mixture on top of that Add the other ½ cream corn – spread on top of meat mixture Add a layer of shredded cheese Add other ½ of batter for next layer Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes or until brown I use a 9 inch cast iron skillet for the Mexican cornbread. It's relatively new and only about 60 years old. Leave the Mexican cornbread in the cast iron skillet. Slice and serve after it's "rested" about 30 minutes. It'll still be hot, I promise. Rhonda and I complied a folder of recipes I copied from hand written notes, envelopes, etc we collected over the 33 years of marriage( with which God Blessed me). That folder is pretty thick by now. Spoke to the FTB branch today. When building an AR-15 as a "pistol" first it is legal to reconfigure it as a "rifle". It is also legal to take that same "rifle" and return it to its "pistol" configuration from the "rifle" configuration. But during the swapping of parts no combination of parts can assmebled to create a NFA item. But, as always, if an AR-15 is a rifle first it will always be a rifle. You cannot buy an AR-15 as a rifle then turn it into a pistol. And just a reminder if it is a lower that is sold with a shoulder stock attached it is a rifle even if no upper is attached. Dolomite
