Rare two tone, NJ State Police issue HK P7 M13 9mm with 3 Magazines. Excellent comdition, less than 200rds through it. Have all original parts to include the box, manual (two) in both German and English, cleaning rod and scraper, and original sights which are not installed on gun. Currently the XS big dot sights (orange) are on the gun. Will trade for Scar 17S NRCH 16inch with KDG extended rail and geissele trigger or will accept $4,500. The trade is obviously the better deal and preferred as that is what I am looking for.2 points

I think she planned to die all along, either by the hands of the police or her own hand. I attribute the relatively low loss of life (one life is too many in my opinion) to both the efficiency of the MPD and the training and quick actions of the staff to secure the children and remove them as targets. She tried unsuccessfully to shoot her way into two different 3rd grade classrooms, expending I believe well over 100 rounds, in the effort. Only one death occurred after the stairwell shooting and that was Dr. Koonce. Hale was unable to find or target any students once they were locked down. Thankfully, in all her planning and research, she didn’t realize the training that the staff had taken, nor did she know of the other measures the school implemented to secure the students and rooms. The training of the teachers (especially the two third grade teachers) allowed them to very very quickly assess what was happening, and move their students back into the rooms, secure the doors, and prevent additional loss of life. I praise the MPD officers who remained “visible “ outside the school, basically as targets to keep her occupied, which allowed the officers who entered the building to confront her.2 points

I've been following this thread with great interest. Thanks for all the insight and information as to this issue. I do not think this is very complicated nor do I believe there are any " gems of truth " nor ' insightful revelations " contained in this demented child's writings. The reason : This child was insane, pure n simple. Sane folks simply cannot fathom the the thinking of the insane. What made sense to her simply will not make sense to you n me; even if the " reasons " were articulated. That said; I am of the opinion that this child was very bright and thorough in her target studies. The TBI/Police assertion that this study is somehow so powerful and detailed as to need to be hidden from the public is laughable on its face. The TBI/Police delay and obfuscation campaign is nothing more that an attempt to keep the " Trans Agenda " out of the news and to allow things to calm and fade from the public's mind. I get that the continuing re hash and commotion about this shooting is hurtful to those affected at the school, but it ain't goin to go away. This is an issue that the public is interested in. In the end, it will matter not go away until these writings are published. No_One is right: You will find no rational explanations in these writings for this tragedy. That said, let's see what they say... Stop the legal maneuvering and bring these writings into full public view. leroy...2 points

So it is a “new” 1873? I do have an 1873 on the list of levers to own. I just think I want one from 1873ish. If there is an “America’s Gun”, it is not an AR-15. It’s a Winchester Model 1873!2 points

Go with the one that shoots .357 magnum and .38 caliber. I think the Winchester 1873 is the model that won’t be too expensive. Expect to spend just above $1,500 if new.1 point

The 1873 and later 1892 were designed to fire handgun length cartridges. The 1894 was designed for rifle cartridges. The 73 was originally offered in .44-40. Where as the 94 was originally offered in .30-30. However, today Winchester does offer the Model 94 in .357, .44 Magnum and .45 Colt. Most lever fans consider the Model 92 better for these rounds as it cycles smoother and is a bit smaller and lighter. BTW: Safeties on these rifles is a fairly recent addition. Most lever lovers consider them an abomination.1 point

Nor will you find any rational explanations then. There is no justification for shooting schoolchildren, and reading the incoherent ramblings of the perpetrator isn't going to shed any light on the situation ...1 point

Different mechanics internally. But based on what you are doing a 73 can be better than a 94.1 point

I have a P320 XCarry Pro with a thousand or so rounds through it. Knock on wood, no problems to date. The sights on the slide are their X-Ray variant and have stayed where they belong. I expect to have to replace them at some point simply because on every Sig that I have owned, the sights begin to rust with handling and exposure to sweat. Unless these sights were treated with a salt-nitride bath coating like Melonite and were instead just blued like most are, they'll eventually start to rust. The Romeo-1 Pro optic that this gun came with promptly went back into the box and I instead installed a Holosun 509T enclosed emitter optic mounted on a CHPWS adapter plate. So far, so good. I have heard absolutely incredible, raving reviews of the new Sig Romeo 2 Pro optic, though. If I can find one for less than $600, I may give it a whirl. Glad to hear that Sig has taken care of you!1 point

@Snavebaonce again I greatly appreciate your willingness to share information that you know with us. This is information I don’t think many of us have seen adequately explained, or even disseminated very much at all by the authorities. I believe a greater effort to be more forthcoming with these details would go along way towards quieting down some of the conspiracy theories that abound. Wouldn’t cure at all, we all know it wouldn’t. I do believe it would help though. The lack of openness and transparency about why certain information is not being publicly disseminated, combined with the legislative efforts from Governor Lee with regard to the special session, and the red flag law only compound the ideas and suspicions that nefarious action is afoot. so once again, I know it has to be difficult for you to engage with some of the speculation that goes on around the subject here, so you have my gratitude for your willingness to share what you know with the rest of us.1 point
